  • The control performances for active re-reflecting wave control suggested in the previous paper have been verified in cases of regular and irregular waves in a real two dimensional wave basin. For regular waves, the control performances are investigated in terms of reflection coefficients, expected amplitudes of propagating waves and wave absorbing capabilities after cessation of wave generation, compared with those of no-control cases. For irregular waves similar verification procedures were adopted. Though there are certain constraints due to the geometrical non-linearity of wave maker and certain nonlinear characteristics due to the near field and gravity waves these experiments show that the control logic could be useful in realizing re-reflecting wave control in conditions of real wave basin.

  • The purpose of this study has a purpose to evaluate shear ability, ductility and energy dissertation of specimens that is to be applied to jacket using wrapping method. The experiments was conducted as a condition that simultaneously applied axial load and transverse force. The results of experiments represent story-displacement ratio, the stiffness, energy dissertation, plastic rotation which mean seismic resistance ablity on structure. And It represents the form of crack ditribution and failure in extreme stages. Based on the results of this experiment, Design examples are given to show the performance evaluation for the column reinforcing of old school buildings using nonlinear analysis is going to be conducted. Therefore, it is possible to apply the seismic retrofit method to public facilities.

  • Numerical caiculations are made in order to find a possible relation between the J-integral and the crack mouth opening displacement(CMOD) in dynamic nonlinear fracture experiments. Both elastic-plastic and elastic-viscoplastic materials are considered at different impact velocities. The J-integral may be estimated from the crack mouth opening displacement which can be measured directiy from photographs taken during dynamic experiments.

  • Flat Plate structures subjected to lateral load are susceptible to the brittle failure, therefore deformability of plate-column connections should be ensured to resist against earthquake. However, according to previous study, existing experiments overestimate the deformability of connections and current design provision do not accurately explains them. In the present study, parametric study using nonlinear finite element analysis was performed. Based on the numerical results, seismic design method considering the deformability of connections was developed.

  • This paper deals with the attitude control problem of nonlinear MIMO propeller setup. Multivariable GPC[Generalized Predictive Control] is adopted as the main controller, and it is implemented by TMS320C31 in the current paper. The main object of control is to move the propellers to wanted positions. System identification is performed to configure the system. Performance of the multivariable predictive controller implemented is shown via some experiments, which shows the controller meets the adequate control purpose.

  • This paper proposes training algorithms of neuro-fuzzy systems. First, we introduce a structure training algorithm, which produces the necessary number of hidden nodes from training data. From this algorithm, initial fuzzy rules are also obtained. Second, the parameter training algorithm using evolution strategy is introduced. In order to show their usefulness, we apply our neuro-fuzzy system to a nonlinear system identification problem. It was found from experiments that proposed training algorithms works well.

  • A feedback linearization controller for EMS system is implemented using DSP. In this paper, we show that given EMS system is input-state linearizable and satisfies some robustness condition. Also we derive feedback linearization controller for given system. Finally, some experiments are performed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed controller-especially, comparing this with the classical state feedback controller using linear perturbation.

  • This paper presetns a new fuzzy neural network for fuzzy modeling. The fuzzy neural network is composed of 4 layers and then odes of each layer represent the each step of the if-then fuzzy inference. A heuristic based on the back-propagation algorithm is proposed to ajdust the parameters of the fuzzy nerual network. We prove the feasibility of the network using the experiments on modeling a nonlinear mathematical system and the comparison with previous research.

  • This paper presents a method for designing a control system to stand upright inverted triangle. A linearized model is obtained form the nonlinear system by Taylor series expansion and a state controller is designed based on the model. After implementing the control system which is combined control law and estimator with reference input, experiments are carried out to stand upright inverted triangle at any angluar position.

  • We consider two finite difference approxiamations to a singular boundary value problem arising in the study of a nonlinear circular membrane under normal pressure. It is shown that the rates of convergence are O(h) and O($h^2$), respectively. An iterative scheme is introduced which converges to the solution of the finite difference equations. Finally the numerical experiments are given
