  • A linear power amplifier is particularly emphasized on the system using a linear modulations, such as 16QAM and QPSK with pulse shaping. because intermodulation distortion which causes adjacent channel interference and co-channel interference is mostly generated in a nonlinear power amplifier. In this paper, parameters of a linearization loop, such as an amplitude imbalance a phase imbalance and a delay mismatch, are briefly analyzed to get a specific cancellation performance and linearization bandwidth. Experimental results are presented for IMT-2000 frequency band. The center frequency of the feedforward amplifier is 2140 MHz with 60 MHz bandwidth. When the average output power of feedforward amplifier is 20 Watt. the intermodulation cancellation performance is more than 21 dB. In this case, the output power of feedforward amplifier reduced 3.5 dB because of extra delay line loss and coupling loss. The feedforward amplifier efficiency is more than 7.2 % for multicarrier signals, 59 dBc for ACPR.

  • The researchers have studied for a long time about the depth of anesthesia but they don't make criteria for the depth of anesthesia. Anesthetists can't make a prediction about patient's reaction. Therefore, patients have potential risk such as poisonous side effect, late-awake, early-awake and strain reaction. In this study, the distributed characteristics on the bispectrum and bicoherence, the type of nonlinear signal processing, as a result of the coupling of EEG were presented according to depth of anesthesia. These results were consistent with a trend of delta ratio that the index of evaluation for the depth of anesthesia. The higher-order spectrum (HOS), the bispectrum and bicoherence, gives the useful information about depth of anaesthesia than other indexes.

  • In order to reduce the negative effects of dynamic coupling among vehicle subsystems and improve the handling performance of vehicle under severe driving conditions, a vehicle chassis control integration approach based on a main-loop and servo-loop structure is proposed. In the main-loop, in order to achieve satisfactory longitudinal, lateral and yaw response, a sliding mode controller is used to calculate the desired longitudinal, lateral forces and yaw moment of the vehicle; and in the servo-loop, a nonlinear optimizing method is adopted to compute the optimal control inputs, i.e. wheel control torques and active steering angles, and thus distributes the forces and moment to four tire/road contact patches. Simulation results indicate that significant improvement in vehicle handling and stability can be expected from the proposed chassis control integration.

  • Direct-drive SCARA-type industrial robots are increasingly used in the assembly process of small mechanical parts as well as electronic components, which uses direct-drive (DD) motors instead of reduction gear-type conventional motors for the actuators of manipulator arms. There are many advantages in using DD motors for robots, such as no backlash, low friction, high mechanical stiffness capability for fast and precise arm control, and high repeatability of positioning. However, there exist a number of difficulties which must be overcome to ensure proper construction and operation; increasing effects of load veriation and nonlinear and coupling dynamics, severe vibration caused by resonance of the manipulator components and low mechanical damping, etc. In order to handle these difficulties, lots of efforts have been made such as reduction of the arm inertia and elimination of the resonance, Performance evaluation of a recently developed, domestic DD robot shows that it works excellently compared with conventional robots. It, however, requires proved reliability and price competitiveness against its foreign counterparts.

  • The squeal propensity of an automotive disc brake system is studied in the theoretical and computational manner. The rotating disc is in contact with two stationary pads and the nonlinear friction is engaged on the contact surface. The friction-coupled equations of motion are derived in the finite element(FE) of the actual brake disc and pad. From the general definition of friction force, the rotation and in-plane mode effects can be included properly in the brake squeal model. The eigenvalue sensitivity analysis and the mode shape visualization at squeal frequencies are also conducted for the detailed investigation. It is found that the squeal propensity is strongly influenced by rotation effect and the in-plane mode can be involved in squeal generation.

  • An investigation into the stochastic bifurcation and response statistits of an autoparameteric system under broad-band random excitation is made. The specific system examined is a spring-pendulum system with internal resonance, which is known to be a good model for a variety of engineering systems, including ship motions with nonlinear coupling between pitching and rolling motions. The Fokker-Planck equations is used to generate a general first-order differential equation in the dynamic moment of response coordinates. By means of the Gaussian and non-Gaussian closure methods the dynamic moment equations for the random responses of the system are reduced to a system of autonomous ordinary differential equations. In view of equilibrium solutions of this system and their stability we examine the stochastic bifurcation and response statistics. The analytical results are compared with results obtained by Monte Carlo simulation.

  • A derivation is given of two-scale models that are able to describe deformation and flow in a fluid-saturated and progressively fracturing porous medium. From the micromechanics of the flow in the cavity, identities are derived that couple the local momentum and the mass balances to the governing equations for a fluid-saturated porous medium, which are assumed to hold on the macroscopic scale. By exploiting the partition-of-unity property of the finite element shape functions, the position and direction of the fractures are independent from the underlying discretization. The finite element equations are derived for this two-scale approach and integrated over time. The resulting discrete equations are nonlinear due to the cohesive crack model and the nonlinearity of the coupling terms. A consistent linearization is given for use within a Newton-Raphson iterative procedure. Finally, examples are given to show the versatility and the efficiency of the approach.

  • This study presents a comprehensive investigation of the aerostatic and buffeting response characteristics of a suspension bridge catwalk. The three-dimensional aerostatic response analysis was carried out taking into account the geometric nonlinearity and nonlinear dependence of wind loads on the angle of attack. The buffeting response analysis was performed in the time domain. The aerostatic and buffeting responses of the catwalk show strong coupling of vertical and lateral vibrations. The lateral displacement is the main component of the wind-induced static and buffeting response of the catwalk.

  • In this paper, the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) is selected to analyze harmonic characteristic of distribution system by IEC 61000 - 3 - 6 in Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC). Harmonic voltage and current were measured at the PCC of real distribution system. Harmonic distribution, nonlinear load component and Total Harmonic Distortion(THD) were verified by measurement. The effective and accurate modelling of real distribution system were proved through a analysis of harmonic impedance, voltage and current in steady-state. Harmonic transfer characteristic in distribution system were summarized and investigated through a analysis of harmonic voltage and harmonic current in harmonic current source.
