New Reference Generation for a Single-Phase Active Power Filter to Improve Steady State Performance

  • This paper proposes a new algorithm to generate a reference signal for an active power filter using a sliding-window FFT operation to improve the steady-state performance of the active power filter. In the proposed algorithm the sliding-window FFT operation is applied to the load current to generate the reference value for the compensating current. The magnitude and phase-angle for each order of harmonics are respectively averaged for 14 periods. Furthermore, the phase-angle delay for each order of harmonics passing through the controller is corrected in advance to improve the compensation performance. The steady-state and transient performance of the proposed algorithm was verified through computer simulations and experimental work with a hardware prototype. A single-phase active power filter with the proposed algorithm can offer a reduction in THD from 75% to 4% when it is applied to a non-linear load composed of a diode bridge and a RC circuit. The active power filter with the proposed reference generation method shows accurate harmonic compensation performance compared with previously developed methods, in which the THD of source current is higher than 5%.

  • Run-Out-Table is the region between EDT and CT. Hot killed strip is cooled by air and water in ROT. In this procedure, phase transformation and shape deformation occur due to temperature drop. Because of un-ideal cooling condition, deformation of strip and non-uniform phase distribution come into existence. This phenomenon affects the strip property and lead th the existence of residual stress. And it exerts effects on the Coiling process, Coil Cooling process, and Un-coiling process. Through these process, the residual stresses of strip are more larger and unbalance of these stresses become more severe. Finite element (FE) based models for the analysises of non-steady state heat transfer and elastoplastic deformation are described in this investigation. The analysises of thermodynamics and phase transformation kinetics are suggested also. Using the ROT simulation result coiling process and coil cooling process simulations are carried out.

  • This paper introduces a fast Fourier transform (FFT)-based spectral analysis method for the transient responses as well as the steady-state responses of linear dynamic systems with non-proportional damping. The force vibration of a non-proportionally damped three-DOF system is considered as the illustrative numerical example.   • 평판 디스플레이 제조공정 중의 하나인 유리기판 위에 감광액을 도포하는 과정에 슬롯코팅 방법이 많이 쓰이고 있다. 도포공정에서는 균일한 코팅 두께를 얻는 것이 중요하며, 코팅의 균일성은 노즐방향과 운전방향의 균일성으로 나뉜다. 운전방향의 코팅 균일성은 코터의 운전조건에 영향을 받고, 노즐방향의 균일성은 다이 내부의 흐름의 균일성에 영향을 받게 된다. 이러한 영향 인자들로 인해 코팅두께가 불균일한 현상이 발생하는데, 코터 진행의 초기 구간에는 비정상상태 구간으로 운전방향과 노즐방향으로 코팅두께가 균일하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 현상이 나타나는 원인을 파악하기 위해 비정상상태와 정상상태를 구별하여 해석하고 이를 실험과 비교하였다. 그 결과 감광액이 다이 내부에서 균일한 압력분포에 도달하기까지 시간이 필요하고 이로 인해 코팅 초기구간에서 다이의 양가장자리 영역의 속도가 중앙 영역에 비해 속도가 낮게 나타났으며 코팅 두께도 얇게 나타났다. 그러나 정상상태에 도달한 후에는 가장자리 영역의 속도가 중앙 영역보다 높게 나타났고 코팅 두께 역시 두껍게 나타났다.

  • 재진입 제어계에서는 항력가속도의 시간미분을 해석적으로 추정하므로 오차가 발생되기 쉽다. 더구나, 극초음속 영역에서의 정확한 항력계수 추정의 어려움과 스케일 고도의 비현실성도 정상상태오차의 원인이 된다. 우주왕복선의 경우, 제어계에 항력가속도 오차의 적분항을 첨가함으로서 정상상태 오차를 줄이는 방법을 취하였지만 페루프 시스템에 다극점을 갖게 하여 현대적인 제어기 합성에 어려움을 가져다 준다. 그러므로, 본 논문에서는 해석적 계산에 의해서 항력가속도 시간미분에 포함된 오차를 추정하고, 그 추정오차를 이용해 항력가속도 시간미분을 보정함으로써 정상상태 오차를 줄이는 방법인 외란 관측기의 설계를 제안하고자 한다. 결과로는 32개의 기준궤적을 대상으로 대기권 재진입 시스템의 성능을 검증해 본다.

  • Van de Vusse 반응기는 정상상태 입출력 관계에서 최대값을 그리고 이 최대값을 기준으로 동특성의 형태가 크게 바뀌는 특성을 보인다. 운전영역에 따라 정상상태 이득의 부호가 바뀌고, non-minimum phase 동특성 등의 제어를 매우 어렵게 하는 특성들이 나타난다. 매우 많은 비선형제어 방법들과 새로이 고안되고 있는 방법들이 이 Van de Vusse 반응기 공정에 적용되어 그 성능 검증이 이루어지고 있다. 이 반응기의 실제 예가 보고되어 있으나, 화학반응 특성상 제어기 실험에 일상적으로 사용되기에는 어려움이 많아 대부분 모사연구에 그치고 있다. 여기서는 이 Van de Vusse 반응기의 특성을 모두 구현하는 액위시스템을 제작하고, 새로이 고안되는 비선형 제어기의 성능을 밝히는 기준이 될 수 있는 간단한 두 제어 방법의 실험 결과를 제안하고자 한다. 액위시스템 실험장치와 제안된 제어 방법들은 매우 간단하며, 비선형 제어기의 성능과 현장 적용 가능성을 검증하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

그리드/연계선 사고 시 풍력발전단지의 응동 분석 (Analysis of Response of a Wind Farm During Grid/inter-tie Fault Conditions)

  • In a wind farm, a large number of small wind turbine generators (WTGs) operate whilst a small number of a large generator do in a conventional power plant. To maintain high quality and reliability of electrical energy, a wind farm should have equal performance to a thermal power plant in the transient state as well as in the steady state. The wind farm shows similar performance to the conventional power plant in the steady state due to the advanced control technologies. However, it shows quite different characteristics during fault conditions in a grid, which gives significant effects on the operation of a wind farm and the power system stability. This paper presents an analysis of response of a wind farm during grid fault conditions. During fault conditions, each WTG might produce different frequency components in the voltage. The different frequency components result in the non-fundamental frequencies in the voltage and the current of a wind farm, which is called by "beats". This phenomenon requires considerable changes of control technologies of a WTG to improve the characteristics in the transient state such as a fault ride-through requirement of a wind farm. Moreover, it may cause difficulties in protection relays of a wind farm. This paper analyzes the response of a wind farm for various fault conditions using a PSCAD/EMTDC simulator.

  • This paper represents the numerical analysis in unsteady state on the variation of diameter and environmental velocity of carbon heating source. In general heating system, the oil and sheath heater is widely used, but these systems have many problems. So, the heating source with carbon ingredient has been researched in many country about manufacture, thermal and electrical properties. In this research, the carbon heating source was studied through numerical analysis on several conditions of unsteady state, heat generation, diameter and environmental velocity. The temperature distributions at steady state are appeared as a non-proportional linear pattern with variations of environmental velocity due to the Nesselt number with convective heat flux is proportioned to 0.805 of Reynolds number. As the radius is increasing, the temperature distributions is appeared the minus tilt because of the environmental condition is cooling by constant temperature. So, the correlation equation between temperature at steady state and environmental velocity was obtained.

Photoisomerization of Symmetric Carbocyanines

  • The phoisomerization process of symmetric carbocyanine dyes such as 3,3'-diethyloxadicarbocyanine iodide (DODCI), 3,3'-diethylthiadicarbocyanine iodide (DfDCI), 1,1'-diethyl-2,2'-dicarbocyanine iodide (DDI), 1,1'-diethyl-2,2'-carbocyanine iodide (DCI), and cryptocyanine (1,1'-diethyl-4,4'-carbocyanine) iodide (CCI) have been studied by measuring the steady state and time resolved fluorescence spectra and the ground-state recovery profiles. The steady-state fluorescence spectrum of photoisomer as a function of concentration and excitation wavelength provides the evidence that the fluorescence of photoisomer is formed by the radiative energy transfer from the normal form and the quantum yield for the formation of photoisomer is increased by decreasing the excitation wavelength. The fluorescence decay profiles have been measured by using the time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) technique, showing a strong dependence on the concentration and the detection wavelength, which is due to the formation of excited photoisomers produced either by the radiative energy transfer from the non-nal form or by absorbing the 590 nm laser pulse. We first report the fluorescence decay time of photoisomers for these cyanine dyes. The experimental results are explained by introducing the semiempirical calculations. The ground state recovery profiles of DTDCI, DDI, and CCI normal forms have been measured, showing that the recovery time from the singlet excited state is similar with the fluorescence decay time.

  • Inverse coefficient identification problems associated with the fourth-order Sturm-Liouville operator in the steady state Euler-Bernoulli beam equation are investigated. Unlike previous studies in which spectral data are used as additional information, in this paper only boundary information is used, hence non-destructive tests can be employed in practical applications.
