The analysis of nonlinear vibrations, buckling, post-buckling, flutter boundary determination and post-flutter behavior of a homogeneous curved plate assuming cylindrical bending is conducted in this article. Other assumptions include simply-supported boundary conditions, supersonic aerodynamic flow at the top of the plate, constant pressure conditions below the plate, non-viscous flow model (using first- and third-order piston theory), nonlinear structural model with large deformations, and application of mechanical and thermal loads on the curved plate. The analysis is performed with constant environmental indicators (flow density, heat, Reynolds number and Mach number). The material properties (i.e., coefficient of thermal expansion and modulus of elasticity) are temperature-dependent. The equations are derived using the principle of virtual displacement. Furthermore, based on the definitions of virtual work, the potential and kinetic energy of the final relations in the integral form, and the governing nonlinear differential equations are obtained after fractional integration. This problem is solved using two approaches. The frequency analysis and flutter are studied in the first approach by transferring the handle of ordinary differential equations to the state space, calculating the system Jacobin matrix and analyzing the eigenvalue to determine the instability conditions. The second approach discusses the nonlinear frequency analysis and nonlinear flutter using the semi-analytical solution of governing differential equations based on the weighted residual method. The partial differential equations are converted to ordinary differential equations, after which they are solved based on the Runge-Kutta fourth- and fifth-order methods. The comparison between the results of frequency and flutter analysis of curved plate is linearly and nonlinearly performed for the first time. The results show that the plate curvature has a profound impact on the instability boundary of the plate under supersonic aerodynamic loading. The flutter boundary decreases with growing thermal load and increases with growing curvature.
Background and objective: People-nature experiences, which suggest that humans seek connections between nature and other forms of life, were presented by biologist E. O. Wilson in 1984. Biophilic design attributes support environments that can improve human connections to nature. A significant amount of literature on environmental psychology provides empirical evidence that nature benefits humans, and that practical landscape and built environments can be designed to link humans and nature (e.g., the 14 biophilic design patterns). To date, however, there has been no well-done research on reviewing the health benefits of biophilic design. Methods: The paper provides a narrative review on biophilic design and human health. The scope of this article is limited to biophilic-design books and peer-review articles related to "biophilic design," "evidence-based," "benefits," "health," rather than an attempt to identify universal issues with biophilia hypothesis. Results: A total of 45 papers were included in our review, which was related to the top five biophilic design patterns and design: the presence of natural images, the presence of plants, visual and non-visual connections to nature, and material connection with nature. These studies were related to physiology and psychology through direct or indirect connections with nature and experiences in space and place. Conclusion: This study presents two important comparisons of the empirical research on biophilic design and human health that can explain the relationship of people-nature experiences to biophilic design and human health and provides insights into related researches and recommendations for future application of our findings.

In order to improve a total system throughput when a base station (BS) transmits data to user equipments (UEs), we propose a scheme to apply multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO), space-time block coding (STBC), and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) together. An MU-MIMO is applied to two UEs near the BS and STBC is applied to a UE far from the BS because of the difficulty of obtaining the channel information. Also NOMA is applied to differentiate the data from the near UE and the far UE. Two orthognal precoding vectors are used for the MU-MIMO UEs and it causes no interference between them. The STBC technique with the two procoding vectors are also used for the far UEs. Through performance analysis and simulation, we show that the proposed scheme has higher total system throughput than the conventional ones.

Purpose: In response to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in 2020, the government supported facilities and equipment through the 'Urgent Isolation Ward Expansion Project'. Design and remodeling of efficient negative pressure isolation facilities had to be done in a short period of time, and the performance gap between facilities was very large because the types of hospitals and wards of existing medical facilities were diverse. In order to secure the stability of isolation wards between medical facilities and reduce the facility gap, guidelines for planning isolation wards considering the diversity of each hospital should be appropriately presented. In consideration of these points, this study aims to provide basic data for future remodeling guidelines for each plan type of the negative pressure isolation ward first. Methods: We analyzed the plans before and after the change of 13 case hospitals that performed the urgent care bed expansion project for COVID-19 confirmed patients. Before the remodeling, the current status of the facility was analyzed according to the type of corridor, the location of the nursing station, and the location of the elevator. After remodeling, the flow of medical staff and patients, the flow of entry and exit of clean and contaminated items, and the space of negative pressure and non-negative pressure areas. Results: The ward type was divided into three types according to the corridor type and room arrangement: double loaded corridor type with two side wards, race track type with one side ward, and race track type with two side wards. Based on these three types, the standard floor plan type of the isolation ward was proposed in terms of the location of the elevator bank and Nurse station. Implications: When the existing general ward is converted into a negative pressure isolation ward, this study can be a basic data to present customized guidelines for each ward type.

Food impaction due to proximal space opening after implant restoration is a very common phenomenon in patients who have implant prosthesis. This occurs because the movement mechanism between the implant and the tooth is different, and it occurs about 30-60% over time. Contributing factors include the arch (mandible), region (posterior teeth), adjacent teeth (non-vital teeth), and antagonist teeth (natural teeth or implants), etc. While this phenomenon cannot be prevented, efforts should be made to minimize it. In order to have an ideal proximal contact as much as possible, the concave shape or the prominent lower proximal shape should be modified to create a symmetrical proximal shape. with the buccal dentate in the upper third height should be adjusted. Other conditions should be modified so that the heights of the marginal ridges are similar. Since an irregular occlusal plane is a cause of poor prognosis, food impaction should be minimized by restoring the ideal occlusal plane by correcting the extruded antagonist and reduction of the disto-buccal cusp.

The NEA release mechanism is used to provide restraint and release functions with low shock for critical deployment operations on solar arrays after launch. The GK3 solar array consists of 2 wings and 6 hold down points per panel. The NEA SSD9103S1 is a part of the GK3 solar array hold-down and release mechanism. Each NEA unit is equipped with two Z-diodes which provide power to a NEA unit connected in series after actuation of the fuse wire. This paper presents the hot firing test results of a quadrature NEA SSD9103S1 configuration. One output powers a maximum of 4 NEA SSD9103S1 units simultaneously. The necessary actuation pulse duration has been determined to meet margin requirement for thermal energy of minimum 4. Actuation thermal energy difference is about 6.6% between each half of two fired serial NEAs. Thermal energy margin at worst case is minimum 5.9 in case of an actuation pulse duration of 500 ms. Two series Zener impedance depend on current applied has been characterized by an additional actuation after all fuse wires are open circuit. Total number of actuation commands to the GK3 NEA unit reduce drastically from 24 in case of single NEA configuration down to 8 in case of parallel and quadrature NEA configurations. It can be accommodated by the existing HP2U Pyro design without any impact.
In this paper, the microwave absorbing characteristics after the impact of the radar-absorbing structure (RAS) consisting of periodic pattern sheet (PPS) and glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP) were experimentally investigated. The fabricated RAS effectively absorbed the microwave in the X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz). In order to induce the damage to the RAS, a low-velocity impact test with various impact energy of 15, 40, and 60 J was conducted. Afterward, the impact damage was observed by using visual inspection, non-destructive test, and image processing method. Moreover, the absorbing performance of intact and damaged RAS was measured by the free-space measurement system. The experiment results revealed that the delamination damage from the impact energy of 15 J did not considerably affect the microwave absorbing performance of the RAS. However, fiber breakage and penetration damage with a relatively large damaged area were occuured when the impact energy was increased up to 40 J and 60 J, and these failures significantly degraded the microwave absorbing characteristics of the RAS.

For this study, the sol gel method was used to synthesize the spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) electrode material. Structural, morphological, electrochemical, and kinetic aspects of the LNMO have been characterized. The synthesized LNMO was indexed with the Fd3m cubic space group. The excellent capacity retention indicates that the spinel framework of LNMO has the ability to withstand high rate charge-discharge throughout long cycle tests. The Li diffusion coefficient (DLi) changes non-monotonically across three orders of magnitude, from 10-9 to 10-12 cm2 s-1 determined from GITT method. The variation of DLi seemed to be related to three oxidation reactions that happened throughout the charging process. A small dip in DLi at the beginning stage of Li deintercalation is correlated with the oxidation of Mn3+ to Mn4+. While two pronounced DLi minima at 4.7 V and 4.75 V are due to the oxidation of Ni2+/Ni3+ and Ni3+/Ni4+ respectively. The depletion of DLi at the high voltage region is attributed to the occurrence of two successive phase transformation phenomena.
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, global fashion brands have been hosting online fashion shows instead of offline ones. In light of the current pandemic scenario, this research conducted a study on digital fashion shows held online, specifically focusing on two types of shows: fashion films and games. This study examined the characteristics of changes in digital fashion shows as well as their limitations. The case studies analyzed fashion shows from January 2020 to July 2021, with a focus on the 2021 S/S and 2021 F/W seasons, and 26 fashion shows from 23 brands. The results of this study were as follows: First, digital fashion shows transcended physical limitations through virtualization and non-face-to-face communication, breaking free of the limits of space and time in reality. Second, the entertainment role of fashion shows was strengthened. However, online fashion shows had limitations as they lacked a sense of reality and distracted viewers' attention from fashion products. This study has practical implications as it proposes a path for the development of digitalized fashion shows by addressing its current limitations. Overcoming these shortcomings, post-pandemic fashion shows would be more diverse, flexible, and creative. Consequently, following the pandemic period, we look forward to new types of fashion shows using digital imaging technologies.
The metaverse platform has been gaining popularity since the pandemic. It facilitates non-face-to-face interaction among creators, users, advertisers, various forms of organizations, and itself. Such interaction has brought light to the new forms of economy, which is called the "creator economy." By providing the virtual space, easy tools, and methods, the platform allows the creators to produce value for the users in the forms of virtual items, content, and experiences. At the same time, it provides audiences to the organizations that need attention. In the course, the platform and the creators generate revenue. Among the diverse revenue sources, this study focuses on revenue generated from advertising and studies how the revenue sharing between the platform and the creator is affected by the abilities of the metaverse platform. With an analysis of the analytical model, we show that if the platform has the ability to reduce advertising avoidance, it can reduce the revenue share of the creator without discouraging the creator from making the proper effort in content creation. Also, as the platform provides effective tools and methods for quality content creation, it can reduce the revenue share of the creator without damaging the creator's required motivation. The ability of the platform in increasing advertising effectiveness helps it to reduce the revenue share of the creator as well.
