  • To protect the digital image, video and audio from non-authorized use, the digital watermarking technology has received a great attention in the field of multimedia in recent years . An overview of the development of watermark techniques is given in the current paper followed by a discussion of potential application of spatial domain, transform domain watermark techniques in remote sensing images copyright protection and verification in different forms of processed images.

  • The need for network protection, accounting and resource management in foreign administrative domain requires appropriate security services. In this paper, we propose an access control protocol to support the authentication between mobile node and visiting subnet. Our hybrid way of approach aims to reduce computational overhead and minimize the use of network bandwidth. We also propose non-certificate based public-key cryptography to provide non-repudiation, which does not require CRL retrieval and certificate validation.

  • This paper proposes the algorithm for discriminating faults from the variation due to the operation of non-linear components to prevent the mal-operation of protection relay in the distribution system. An IEEE 13 node test feeder is modeled to analyze the characteristics of the fault and each variation using EMTP-RV. Simulations with various operating conditions of transformers, non-linear loads, and unbalanced loads are performed using the test feeder model. Based on simulation results, the wavelet transform is adopted to analyze the current waveforms from the faults and variations to find out the differences between them and the algorithm for discriminating faults from the variation is proposed. The proposed algorithm is verified by using the current waveforms simulated in the KEPCO's distiribution system and IEEE 13 node test feeder.

  • MOV(Metal Oxide Varistor) is the most important part of SPD(Surge Protective Device) which can protect electric facilities from an impulse current such as a lightning. So far, the fault of MOVs have decided only by surge count without considering magnitude of surge current and an amount of input energy. This paper proposed the fault prediction algorithm for the MOV using look up table made by surge count and input current data which have non-linear characteristics for input current and are estimated by high voltage experimental results. Proposed algorithm was proved by experiment on verification at a high voltage laboratory.

  • An overview on applications of wavelet transform in power systems presented in this paper. Wavelet transform is capable of making trade-offs between time and frequency resolutions, which is a property that makes it appropriate for the analysis of non stationary signal. In recent years, wavelet transform is widely accepted as a technology offering an alternative way due to its flexibility in representation of non-stationary signal even in power systems. This paper presents various applications of wavelet transform in power systems. Wavelet transform has been used by the authors in the field of power system protection for the classification of transient signals, and forecasting of short term loads and system marginal price and so on. Various research works carried out by many researchers in power systems are summarized.

  • We deal with the regulation problem of nonlinear systems with time-varying delays in both the states and input. A new state feedback controller with dynamic gains is developed based on matrix inequality and non-predictor methods. The proposed control scheme is analyzed using the Razumikhin theorem, and its effectiveness is demonstrated with simulation results.

  • 6.6KV 고전압 위험으로 접지계기용변압기(GPT)와 영상변류기(ZCT)의 2차측에 전압 전류 시험 유입방식으로는 해당 지락보호계전기의 정.부동작이 정확한지 검증이 되지 않아 안전사고 발생의 우려성이 존재하고 있었으며, 이의 해결을 위하여 6.6KV 고압측에 인공지락시험을 통하여 국내외 일부 계전기의 동작 전압 전류 극성이 사양과 상이한 것을 발견하여 실계통에 합당하도록 시정함과 동시에 감전시 인체 저항을 감안한 지락보호계전기(OVGR, SGR) 정정값을 도출하여 인명을 보호하게 하기 위한 지락보호계전 시스템에 대한 연구이다.

  • The basalt fiber is expected to become a trend for industrial fibers as they have better properties of heat-resistant, non-combustion, absorbent, soundproof, moistureproof, lightweight, corrosion resistant, and high strength properties. Also, the fiber is found to be non-toxic and harmless to the human body. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the chemical and mineral compositions of powdered sludge of basalt produced at seven sites on Jeju Island for the development of fire resistance insulating material for a building. The results showed that the basalt stone sludge is made from only sodium calcium aluminum silicate and ferridioside components unlike the basalt rock.

  • 넌어드레스(Non-Addressable) 장비는 IP 주소를 포함한 기타 어느 계정을 갖지 않는 통신 보안 장비로서, 해킹을 포함한 허가되지 않은 공격들로부터 원천적으로 단말을 보안할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 넌어드레스 장비에서 AES 방식으로 데이터를 암/복호화 시 성능을 향상시키기 위한 방법을 제시한다. AES-128, 192, 256에서의 암/복호화 시간, CPU 사용량, 메모리 사용량, 실제 데이터의 전송속도를 비교하여 최선의 설정 방법을 도출한다.

Seismic response control of buildings with force saturation constraints

  • We present an approach, based on the state dependent Riccati equation, for designing non-collocated seismic response control strategies for buildings accounting for physical constraints, with particular attention to force saturation. We consider both cases of active control using general actuators and semi-active control using magnetorheological dampers. The formulation includes multi control devices, acceleration feedback and time delay compensation. In the active case, the proposed approach is a generalization of the classic linear quadratic regulator, while, in the semi-active case, it represents a novel generalization of the well-established modified clipped optimal approach. As discussed in the paper, the main advantage of the proposed approach with respect to existing strategies is that it allows to naturally handle a broad class of non-linearities as well as different types of control constraints, not limited to force saturation but also including, for instance, displacement limitations. Numerical results on a typical building benchmark problem demonstrate that these additional features are achieved with essentially the same control effectiveness of existing saturation control strategies.
