Metro-sexual Consumption in Accordance with Identity of Gender Roles, Self-esteem and Cultural-Social Attitude Toward Appearance (성역할정체성, 자아존중감, 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도에 따른 메트로섹슈얼 소비)

  • This study conducted a survey with 300 male respondents in their 20s to 50s, in order to examine the influence of personal variables, identity of gender roles, self-esteem and social-cultural attitude towards appearance on metro-sexual consumption. The findings are as follows: First, the majority of respondents experienced metro-sexual consumption in passive ways, such as purchasing cosmetics or perfume. Second, self-esteem differed by classification of identity of gender roles and the self-esteem was the most highly rated in non-classified, followed by in femininity, masculinity and androgyny. On the other hand, the non-classified group appeared to have the most highly social and cultural attitude toward appearance. Lastly, when examining the effect of personal variables, identity of gender roles, self- esteem and social-cultural attitude toward appearance on metro-sexual consumption, the results showed that the younger respondents who spend the highest monthly expenses on appearance, belong to the androgynous group and have the social-cultural attitude, are more likely to have a greater tendency towards metro-sexual consumption.

The School Adjustment of Children of Low-Income Families: Ego-Identity and Perceptions of Parenting Behaviors (저소득층 아동의 학교 적응 : 아동이 지각한 부모의 양육행동과 아동의 자아정체감을 중심으로)

  • This study examined whether parenting behaviors as perceived by low-income children have indirect effects on their school adjustment through ego-identity. The subjects were 148 6th grade children selected from three elementary schools in Seoul; family income was less than 2,000,000 won, Statistical techniques were Person's Correlation and Simple and Multiple Regression. Findings were that (1) Perceived parenting behavior was a significant predictor of the school adjustment in low-income children. (2) Perceived parenting behavior was a significant predictor of the ego-identity of low-income children. (3) When the effect of perceived supportive parenting behaviors was controlled, the effect of ego-identity of low-income children was significant. However, when the effect of ego-identity of low-income children was controlled, the effect of perceived supportive parenting behaviors became non-significant.

The Effects of Hispanics' Social TV Participation on Ethnic Identifications

  • Social television encompasses the social media aspect of television viewing. This study attempts to investigate how social television influences Hispanic and national ethnic identification as well as social presence. Based on the theoretical framework of Tajfel and Turner's Social Identity Theory (SIT), this study focuses on the potential influence of social television on Hispanics' ethnic identifications and social presence. With a sample of 100 Hispanic students, we conducted a lab experiment to measure the effects of exposure to ethnic and non-ethnic related Twitter feeds on Hispanic and national ethnic identification along with social presence. Findings reveal that there was no significant difference between those exposed to the ethnic-identity related Twitter feed compared to those exposed to the non-ethnic identity related Twitter feed, followed by the control group not exposed to the Twitter feed at all. Implications were discussed.

Effects of Body Image and Restrained Eating on Eating Disorder, Dietary Intakes, Self Esteem and Sex Role Identity in College Women (여대생들의 신체상과 다이어트가 섭식장애, 식이섭취량 및 사회심리적 요인에 미치는 영향)

  • Thinness has become a symbol for beauty, acceptance and competence for women in our society, and pressure to diet because of this unrealistic standard is one factor reponsible for the increasing incidence of eating disorder. Three hundred fifty college women in the Chonbuk area were surveyed from May to June 1998, to investigate the relationship among body image, eating disorder, dietary intakes, self esteem and sex role identity. This study identified a subgroup of women who were relatively satisfied with their body weight and who did not diet. This group was compared with subgroups of women who were dissatisfied with their bodies and either were or were not restrained eaters. The dissatisfied/dieting women had the highest BMI, binge eating disorder and night eating syndrom, had significantly lower calorie, protein, iron, vitamin B$_1$, and vitamin B$_2$ intake compared with the satisfied/non-dieting women. The dissatisfied /dieting women, who had lower self-esteem compared with the satisfied/non-dieting women, but the frequency of sex role identity was similga among the groups of women. BMI and binge eating disorder were positively correlated(r=0.157, p<.01), but BMI and self esteem were negatively correlated(r=-0.202, p<0.01). Especially, binge eating disorder and self esteem were negatively correlated (r=-0.126, p<0.05).

Improvement of Digital Identify Proofing Service through Trend Analysis of Online Personal Identification

  • This paper analyzes the trends of identification proofing services(PIPSs) to identify and authenticate users online and proposes a method to improve PIPS based on alternative means of resident registration numbers in Korea. Digital identity proofing services play an important role in modern society, but there are some problems. Since they handle sensitive personal information, there is a risk of information leakage, hacking, or inappropriate access. Additionally, online service providers may incur additional costs by applying different PIPSs, which results in online service users bearing the costs. In particular, in these days of globalization, different PIPSs are being used in various countries, which can cause difficulties in international activities due to lack of global consistency. Overseas online PIPSs include expansion of biometric authentication, increase in mobile identity proofing, and distributed identity proofing using blockchain. This paper analyzes the trend of PIPSs that prove themselves when identifying users of online services in non-face-to-face overseas situations, and proposes improvements by comparing them with alternative means of Korean resident registration numbers. Through the proposed method, it will be possible to strengthen the safety of Korea's PIPS and expand the provision of more reliable identification services.

  • The essence of brand identity is to draw an interrelation between user and brand based on user's desire. The housing cultural center is focused on brand identity for satisfaction of user. The purpose of this study is to inquire out the expression characteristics of brand Identity in housing cultural center according to analyze previous studies and case studies. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 'Uniqueness' is directly expressed through brand name or logo or through brand colors. 'Experience' is expressed as auditive expression through stimulation using a body and providing music. 'Relationship' has provided a communication environment or created relationship with brand by leading interaction with others. 'Estheticism' has increased visual satisfactory level by aesthetically sublimating lighting direction or form. 'Functionality' is expressed by providing various programs through smooth flow plan and grafting with the latest technology. 'Non-dailiness' has affected memory territory by inducing curiosity and astonishment through space modification or new and contrasting direction. The housing cultural center needs to be planned as a space where interaction of user and brand will be initiatively activated sensationally and psychologically by pursuing user-oriented brand identity.

Constructing Strong Identity-Based Designated Verifier Signatures with Self-Unverifiability

  • An identity-based strong designated verifier signature scheme provides restricted verifiability only for a verifier designated by a signer and proper privacy for the signer. In this paper, we show that strong designated verifier signature schemes do not satisfy the self-unverifiability requirement in the sense that not only exposure of the verifier's secret key but also of the signer's secret key enables an attacker to verify signatures, which should have been the exclusive right of the verifier. We also present a generic method to construct a strong identity-based designated verifier signature scheme with self-unverifiability from identity-based key encapsulation and identity-based key sharing schemes. We prove that a scheme constructed from our method achieves unforgeability, non-transferability, and self-unverifiability if the two underlying components are secure. To show the advantage of our method, we present an example that outputs short signatures and we analyze its performance.

  • The recent census project that non-Hispanic White will be minority in thirty years has been accepted by the conservative media and politicians as the factor that threatens the authentic American national identity. The concerns about the majority-minority population chance influenced the election of Donald Trump who explicitly claimed the restriction of immigration, promising strong controls over the entry of undocumented immigrants. In the process, 'white-nationalism' based on the connection of racial whites and authentic American identity has been central issues in American society. In this sense, this paper examines who has been included/excluded from 'racial Whites' throughout the American history relating to the American identity politics and how these processes have shown the covert strategies of the whites for maintaining their privileges.

  • The Weyl-type non-associative algebra ${\overline{WN_{g_n,m,s_r}}$ and its subalgebra ${\overline{WN_{n,m,s_r}}$ are defined and studied in the papers [8], [9], [10], [12]. We will prove that the Weyl-type non-associative algebra ${\overline{WN_{n,0,0_{[2]}}}$ and its corresponding semi-Lie algebra are simple. We find the non-associative algebra automorphism group $Aut_{non}({\overline{WN_{1,0,0_{[2]}}})$.

  • We define the non-associative algebra $\bar{W(n,m,m+s)}$) and we show that it is simple. We find the non-associative algebra automorphism group $Aut_{non}\bar{(W(1,0,0))}\;of\;\bar{W(1,0,0)}$. Also we find that any derivation of $\bar{W(1,0,0)}$ is a scalar derivation in this paper.
