  • This paper mainly considers a tuple of multiplication operators on Bergman spaces over polydisks which essentially arise from a matrix, their joint reducing subspaces and associated von Neumann algebras. It is shown that there is an interesting link of the non-triviality for such von Neumann algebras with the determinant of the matrix. A complete characterization of their abelian property is given under a more general setting.

  • The aim of this short paper is to show some rigidity results for the actions of certain finitely presented groups by homeomorphisms. As an interesting and special case, we show that the actions of Higman-Thompson groups by homeomorphisms on a cohomology manifold with a non-zero Euler characteristic should be trivial. This is related to the wellknown Zimmer program and shows that the actions by homeomorphism could be very much different from those by diffeomorphisms.

  • In this paper, we know the historical background in group representations and prove the properties such that a finite group G has non-trivial abelian normal subgroup in some condition for the irreducible character G and prove the properties of product of irreducible characters of finite groups.

  • Let (A,G,.alpha.) be a $C^{*}$-dynamical system. In [3] the classical notions of ergodic properties of topological dynamical systems such as topological transitivity, minimality, and uniquely ergodicity are extended and analyzed in the context of non-abelian $C^{*}$-dynamical systems. We showed in [2] that if G is a compact group, then minimality, topological transitivity, uniquely ergodicity, and weakly ergodicity of the $C^{*}$-dynamical system (A,G,.alpha.) are equivalent.alent.

  • We investigate biprojectivity of $C_{r}^{*}(G)$ as a $L^1(G)$-bimodule for a locally compact group G. The main results are the following. As a $L^1(G)$-bimodule$C_{r}^{*}(G)$ is biprojective if G is compact and is not biprojective if G is an infinite discrete group or G is a non-compact abelian group.

  • If for every elements x and y of an associative algebraic structure (S, ${\cdot}$) there exists a positive integer r such that $ab=b^ra$, then S is called quasi-commutative. Evidently, every abelian group or commutative semigroup is quasi-commutative. Also every finite Hamiltonian group that may be considered as a semigroup, is quasi-commutative however, there are quasi-commutative semigroups which are non-group and non commutative. In this paper, we provide three finitely presented non-commutative semigroups which are quasi-commutative. These are the first given concrete examples of finite semigroups of this type.

  • Let $F={F^v:S^1->S^1,v\in\; V$ and $g={G^v:S^1->S^1,v\in\; V$ be disjoint flows defined on the unit circle $S^1$, that is such flows that each their element either is the identity mapping or has no fixed point ((V, +) is a 2-divisible nontrivial abelian group). The aim of this paper is to give a necessary and sufficient codition for topological conjugacy of disjoint flows i.e., the existence of a homeomorphism $\Gamma:S^1->S^1$ satisfying $$\Gamma\circ\ F^v=G^v\circ\Gamma,\; v\in\; V$$ Moreover, under some further restrictions, we determine all such homeomorphisms.

  • Recently, Lesieutre constructed a 6-dimensional projective variety X over any field of characteristic zero whose automorphism group Aut(X) is discrete but not finitely generated. As an application, he also showed that X is an example of a projective variety with infinitely many non-isomorphic real structures. On the other hand, there are also several finiteness results of real structures of projective varieties. The aim of this short paper is to give a sufficient condition for the finiteness of real structures on a projective manifold in terms of the structure of the automorphism group. To be more precise, in this paper we show that, when X is a projective manifold of any dimension≥ 2, if Aut(X) does not contain a subgroup isomorphic to the non-abelian free group ℤ ∗ ℤ, then there are only finitely many real structures on X, up to ℝ-isomorphisms.

  • Let ℬ(ℋ) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on a complex Hilbert space ℋ and 𝒨 ⊆ ℬ(ℋ) be a von Neumann algebra without central abelian projections. Let ξ be a non-zero scalar. In this paper, it is proved that a mapping φ : 𝒨 → ℬ(ℋ) satisfies φ([A, B]ξ)= [φ(A), B]ξ+[A, φ(B)]ξ for all A, B ∈ 𝒨 if and only if φ is an additive ⁎-derivation and φ(ξA) = ξφ(A) for all A ∈ 𝒨.

  • A group G is said to be (l, n, n)-generated if it is a quotient group of the triangle group T(p,q,r)=(x,y,z|x$\^$p/=y$\^$q/=z$\^$r/=xyz=1). In [15], the question of finding all triples (l, m, n) such that non-abelian finite simple groups are (l , m, n)-generated was posed. In this paper we partially answer this question for the sporadic group He. We continue the study of (p, q, r) -generations of the sporadic simple groups, where p, q, r are distinct primes. The problem is resolved for the Held group He.
