This study was performed to develop questionnaire of cold-heat pattern identification(PI) based on usual symptoms for general people, and we analyzed reliability of the questionnaire. We reviewed cold-heat PI questionnaire of advanced research and selected twenty-three items through three time experts meeting. Three hundred and fifty nine healthy subjects were joined in this study. As a results, Cronbach's α of cold-heat PI questionnaire was 0.79 and 0.83. According to the factor analysis about fifteen-chosen cold-heat PI questionnaires, each cold-heat consisted of two factors and each Convergence was 56.46% and 65.93%. Intra-class Correlation Coefficient was 0.67-0.83. Based on the median of samples of primary source, we classified subjects into four category as Cold, Heat, No Cold-Heat, and Cold-heat complex. We examined agreement of diagnosis and coefficient of kappa, and agreement rate of diagnosis was 64.2%, and coefficient of kappa was 0.51. Based on research result, we expect that validity study about questionnaire of cold-heat PI based on usual symptoms will be continued, and hope to be used as subsidiary diagnosis in clinical practice.
The taxonomic sufficiency approach has been proposed as a surrogate for the typical analysis of species-abundance data, especially in conditions involving prominent pollution gradients. Here, we evaluate the use of taxonomic sufficiency with infralittoral macrobenthic data derived from samples taken in a moderate polluted subtropical environment in southeastern Brazil, analysing five taxonomic levels and including two functional levels throughout polychaete feeding guilds and trophic groups. The data were collected seasonally at nine stations and studied for two abundance data series (0.5 and 1.0 mm sieve mesh-size). The results showed a similar ordination pattern between the two sieve mesh-size, but with the 0.5 mm sieve data a different pattern was observed during austral summer. A slight loss of information was detected using genus, family, polychaete species and their feeding guilds as taxonomic/functional units. These results together with those of the cost! benefit ratio, suggested that the family level seemed to be sufficient to detect the impact caused by moderate pollution in this shallow-water, subtropical environment. In additional, through the use of feeding guilds, similar patterns are obtained. Correlation analysis showed that chlorophyll a, total organic matter, zinc, and chromium sediment content were the variables that best explained the biological pattern observed and not always the best correlation coefficient occurring at the species level. The feeding guild approach seems to be useful and generates interpretable results similar to those obtained with the species level of the whole macroinfauna. The results showed an important cost reduction in the sample processing, suggesting that it is possible to adopt a coarser taxonomic level monitoring program even in species-rich communities.
Aims : The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there are any changes in taste sensitivity with advancing age and to see if smoking or oral hygiene can affect the taste sensitivity. Method : Nine hundred and thirty four subjects(458 male and 476 females) were included for the study and they were categorized into 4 age groups( under 20, 20 to 39, 40 to 59, and over 60 age group ). The electrical taste thresholds were measured using an electrogustometer for the 4 different sites in the oral cavity, I.e., tongue tip, tougue alteral, circumvallate papilla, and soft palate. Results : The elctrical taste thresholds were significantly incresed with advancing age in both gender, but the pattern of change is moere abrupt in female after 40. There were not significant differences in electrical taste threshold between smoking and non-smoking people. Taste thresholds were significantly lower in the groups with higher frequency of daily toothbrushing than the groups with lower frequency Conclusion : The electrical taste threshold is increased with aging. It is not influenced by smoking but by toothbrushing.
In this paper, we implement an elementary system to correct accent, pronunciation, and intonation in English spoken by non-native English speakers. In case of the accent evaluation, energy and pitch information are used to find stressed syllables, and then we extract the segment information of input patterns using a dynamic time warping method to discriminate and evaluate accent position. For the pronunciation evaluation. we utilize the segment information using the same algorithm as in accent evaluation and calculate the spectral distance measure for each phoneme between input and reference. For the intonation evaluation. we propose nine pattern of slope to estimate pitch contour, then we grade test sentences by accumulated error obtained by the distance measure and estimated slope. Our result shows that 98 percent of accent and 71 percent of pronunciation evaluation agree with perceptual measure. As the result of the intonation evaluation. system represent the similar order of grade for the four sentences having different intonation patterns compared with perceptual evaluation.
The purposes of this study were to identify the brand positioning of children's wear according to fashion life style and to construct brand positioning maps by using multidimensional scaling (MDS). A total of 222 responses were collected from married women aged 25 to 35 through questionnaire. Cluster analysis on fashion life style factors identified three groups: Fashion Indifference group (34%), Fashion & Individuality Oriented group (27%) and Rationality Oriented group (37%). ANOVA revealed significant differences among the three groups on the six fashion life style factors. MDS analysis showed that three segmented groups evaluated nine children's wear brand for seven attributes(color, design, price, utility, quality, brand name, fashion).

Thirty-nine strains of Leuconostocs found to be tolerant to $10\%$ or more garlic were selected for further identification, by comparing their whole-cell protein pattern, 16S rRNA gene (first 530 bases) sequence, cellular fatty acid composition, and carbon source metabolism. Two isolates were Identified as Leuconostoc mesenteroides and 32 others as Leuconostoc citreum. Five other strains belonging to a cluster could not be allocated to the existing species. 16S rRNA gene sequence and cellular fatty acid composition of the unidentified bacteria exhibited close similarity with Leuconostoc argentinum. The unidentified isolates were not allocated to L. argentinum, because they formed polysaccharide from sucrose, while L. argentinum strains do not. Leuconostocs tolerant to high concentration of garlic were found predominantly on garlic surface, an extreme environment which is unfit for most of other microorganisms.

Distribution and abundance of planktonic shrimps were studied in the southern sea of Korea from 1987 to 1991. Nine species of five genera belonging to three families were identified. Of these, Leptochela sydniensis and Lucifer intermedius were predominant species and Lucifer penicilifer and Lucifer typus were common species. Remaining five species, Acetes chinensis, Leptochela gracilis, Lucifer chacei, Process wheeleri and Sergestes similis occurred sporadically and rarely. The distribution pattern of planktonic shrimps varied with species and sampling periods. L. intermedius occurred abundantly along inshore waters. L. penicilifer and L. typus appeared in both inshore and offshore waters, but more abundantly in offshore waters under influence of the Tsushima Current. In conclusion, the distribution patterns of planktonic shrimps may be related with hydrographic characteristics and seasonality in the southern sea of Korea.
This thesis investigates the Quantitative aspect of epidemic phenomena utilizing the analytical method of discrete time systeMs based on the theory of Markov processes. In particular, the pattern on the epidemic character of turberculosis controlled by prophylaxis and BCG vaccinatioll was analyzed by the markovian model of tuberculosis system which is derived according to the ecologic relationship between nine epidemiologic states of individuals. The quantitative aspects of the model were characterized by digital computer simulations.
Blasting is a technique for rock excavation: For instance, a rock cutting in a mountain side to prepare a base for a road. The blasting damage affect the rock slope stability. Therefore control blasting must be used. In this study, cutting cases of Sixty-nine rock blasts were investigated. Blasting damage patterns in rock slope and reinforcement methods are studied.
This study provided longitudinal examination of the Chinese learners' acquisition of the Korean vowels. Specifically the author examined whether Korean monophthongs are acquired rapidly in early stages of learning (Flege, Munro and Skelton, 1992; Munro and Derwing, 2008) or they develop rather gradually in proportion to the learners' experience (Byee, 2001; Ellis, 2006). This study collected the Korean vowel production by 23 Chinese learners for a year, and then analysed F1 and F2 of each Korean vowel. The results showed that 1) Most of the second language (L2) vowels were rapidly improved during the first six or nine months of Korean learning before reaching the constant stage; and 2) The exact acquisition trajectories varied across the seven vowels. Specifically the vowels which were acquired in the early stage of learning were /i, e, ɨ/ for F1 and /ʌ, e, o, u/ for F2. Thus this study supports the hypothesis of Flege et al. (1992) and Munro and Derwing (2008) except the fact that each vowel showed the different learning route.
