In laboratories, researchers frequently work using new methods with new tools and materials. So the workers in laboratories are exposed to risk from dangerous articles all the time. In the case of university laboratories, testing is done by the individual at night. Because of that, the risks in university laboratories are higher than in other places. In addition, students and managers in universities generally have little concern for laboratory safety. So students are sometimes injured or killed in laboratory accidents. In this study, 1,000 university students answered questions about university laboratory safety. Their answers have been analyzed to determine the state of actual conditions and to formulate countermeasures. The results indicate that we need to change the safety awareness of the universities and the students. Adequate safety training and safe practice must be implemented by each university to decrease accidents. Development of systematic safety training program suited to the specific conditions of the individual laboratory and formulation of specific counter plans should accidents occur are required.

The purpose of this research was to understand the structure of the experiences of turnover among hospital nurses. The research question was 'What is the structure of the experiences of turnover among hospital nurses?' The sample consisted of 16 hospital nurses who experienced one or more turnover. The unstructured interview were carried out from July 15. through August 31., 1997. Intervewed by audio-recording and analyzed by Van Kaam's method. There were 361 descriptive expressions and priority classifications. The result summerized as 107 common elements, 38 syntheses of hypothetical definitions and 6 identifications of the structural definition. The structural definitions and hypothetical definitiones were as follows ; 1. There were different views on the turnover intention. Hard task, dissatisfaction of initial expectancy, uncomfortable relationship with doctors, inappriate reward, uncomfortable relationship with workers of other parts, uncomfortable relationship with patients, unreasonable promotion, uncomfortable relationship with co-worker, helplessness, poor environment of working conditions. 2. Motivating factor of turnover can be varied : self development, problem of social support, boring task, problem of relation-ship with the senior, unfair promotion, night duty. 3. Social supportive factors were co-worker support, senior support, self control, family support, time support. 4. There were different views on the job satisfaction. Task, relationship with patient, recognition, professionalism, promotion, working environment, relationship with co-worker, reward.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to contribute to the activation of comprehensive nursing care services by comparing and analyzing the working environment and operational status of comprehensive nursing care wards with general wards. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted at hospitals operating comprehensive nursing care services. We collected data on patient characteristics, workforce, working environment, and work support facilities of 40 hospitals voluntarily participating in the survey. The collected data were analyzed by dividing it into an comprehensive nursing care ward and a general ward. Results: Compared with the general ward, the comprehensive nursing care ward had fewer hospitalized patients, but the severity of the patients and the need for nursing were high. The number of nurses, assistant nurses, and ward support workers per patient was higher in the comprehensive nursing care ward than in the general ward, and the implementation rate of night shift fixed system, the fixed shift system, and the preceptor system were higher. In terms of structural environment, comprehensive nursing care wards had more room for interviews. Conclusion: The comprehensive nursing care ward had more nursing staff and provided a better working environment than the general ward, but required additional support for the structural environment.

Objectives: This study aimed to identify workstation factors influencing work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) among information technology (IT) professionals in Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 150 IT workers at small-enterprise companies who were randomly selected across East Java, Indonesia. The data were modeled using multiple linear regression, with a 95% level of confidence for determining statistical significance. Results: The respondents reported that the neck had the highest level of discomfort and was the most at risk of WMSDs, followed by the lower back, right shoulder, and upper back. Screen use duration (p=0.040) was associated with whole-body WMSDs, along with seat width (p=0.059), armrest (p=0.027), monitor (p=0.046), and a combined telephone and monitor score (p=0.028). Meanwhile, the factors significantly related to the risk of WMSDs in the hands and wrist were working period (p=0.039), night shift (p=0.024), backrest (p=0.008), and mouse score (p=0.032). Conclusions: Occupational safety authorities, standards-setting departments, and policymakers should prioritize addressing the risk factors for WMSDs among IT professionals.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of care workers' employment characteristics and perception of facility directors' transformational leadership on quality of service through a hierarchical linear model. For this aim, survey data were collected amongst 240 older adults and 200 care workers who are affiliated within 45 long-term care facilities in Seoul, and analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and HLM 8.0. As a result, one's perception of transformational leadership had a positive effect, whereas, among employment characteristics, employment type and working hours had negative effects on quality of service. Regular workers with fewer working hours and higher awareness of transformational leadership toward the director provided higher quality of service. But wage, total experience and tenure didn't meaningfully affect it. Therefore, the following suggestions were presented. First, it is necessary to reorganize incentive, salary systems and budgets, changing the status of temporary workers' hourly wage system into that of regular workers' monthly one in order to strengthen employment security with acknowledging fundamental professional values through reinforcement of expertise. Reinforcement of long-term care's publicness and establishment of base facilities are also suggested. Second, maintaining appropriate hours of work and rest including annual leave under the Labor Standards Act is needed. Also, increasing the salary of and decreasing working hours for night shift workers are required. Third, education and intervention for inspiring transformational leadership of directors and strengthening qualification standards of them are required.

The studies were carried out to develop an urban forest aromatic bath in the idle space within city area for handicapped persons, patients and city workers, who having less chance to visit the natural forest aromatic bath. The environmental conditions were checked in the experimental double vinyl house where native and exotic aromatic woody and herbaceous plants were growing with minimum energy input in the periods of mid-winter and mid-summer. The growth and photoperiodic responses of the plants to the low and high temperatures were observed during winter and summer respectively. The most of herbaceous plants in the double vinyl house with the controlled minimum night temperature of $-2^{\circ}C$ had no winter injury but did not grow and started the growth in April. The exotic herbs such as Catnip faassen's(Nepeta x faassenia) and Lemon bergamot(Monarda citriodora) grew better in the longer photoperiodic conditions. The growth rates of Abies koreana, Thuja koraiensis and Pinus sylvestriformis in the early spring were affected mainly by the night minimum temperature and less affected by the photoperiodic conditions during winter. The native aromatic herbs such as Robdosia japonica, Molsa punctulata, Agastache rugosa and Codonopsis lanceolata showed stimulatory growth at the 16 hours day-length in case of the high temperature vinyl hose. The height and root collar diameter growth of pine seedlings were inhibited in maxim temperatures over $40^{\circ}C$ during summer.
The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting dental hygienists's stress in order to provide dental hygienists's stress management methods. The results of this study were as follows. 1. A sample of 168 dental hygienists were selected to participate in this study. The participate of 66.1% was under 25 old years and 87.5% was unmarried. A majority of he dental hygienists's job place was clinical areas 86.9% and working experience was 1~4 years (47.6%). A average dental hygienists's salary was 1,000,000~1,500,000 won/month (63.7%). A average dental hygienists's working time was under 8 hours/day (57.1%). 5days/week (58.3%) was working and the participate of 78.0% was working on night-time. 2. Dental hygienists's stress under 25 years old was higher than over 26 years old (p < 0.05). It was found that dental hygienists was significantly related to stress from less income (p < 0.05), longer working time (p < 0.01). In job demand areas, Night-time workers (p < 0.05) and 5days/week (p < 0.05) worker was more stress than others participates. In job autonomy areas, longer working experience in present dental clinical(p < 0.01) and higher salary/ month (p < 0.01) were more stress. The job instability of unmarried dental hygienists were more stress than married subjects. In stress of organization system, longer working time/day (p < 0.05), under 25 years old (p < 0.01), high salary (p < 0.05), 5day/week (p < 0.05) dental hygienists's stress was higher than others.
The aim of this study is to protect workers and pedestrians from accidents at night or bad weather by attaching optical fiber to existing safety clothing that is made only with fluorescent fabrics and retroreflective materials. A safety vest was designed and manufactured by applying optical fiber, and energy-harvesting technology was developed. The safety vest was designed to emit light using the automatic flashing of optical fibers attached to the film, and an energy harvester was manufactured and attached to drive the light emission of the optical fiber more continuously. As a result, first, the vest wearer' body was recognized from a distance through the optical fiber and retroreflection, which helped prevent accidents. Thus, this concept helps in saving lives by preventing accidents during night-time work on the roadside or activities of rescue crew and sports activities, or by quickly finding the point of an accident with a signal that changes the optical fiber light emission. Second, to use the wasted energy, a piezoelectric-element power generation system was developed and the piezoelectric-harvesting device was mounted. Potentially, energy was efficiently produced by activating the effective charging amount of the battery part and charging it auxiliary. In the existing safety vest, detecting the person wearing the vest is almost impossible in the absence of ambient light. However, in this study, the wearer could be found within 100 m by the light emission from the safety vest even with no ambient light. Therefore, in this study, we will help in preventing and reducing accidents by developing smart safety clothing using optical fiber and energy harvester attached to save lives.
To assess environmental contamination with carcinogens, carbonaceous compounds, water-soluble ionic species and trace gaseous species were identified and quantified every three hours for three days st three different atmospheric layer at the heart of chiang-Mai, bangkok and hat-Yai from December 2006 to February 2007. A DRI model 2001 Themal/Optical Carbon Analyzer with the IMPROVE thermal/optical reflectance (TOR) protocol was used to quantify the organic carbon(OC) and elemental carbon content in $PM_{10}$. Diurnal and vertical variability was also carefully investigated. In general, OC and EC contenttration shoeed the highest values at the monitoring period o 21.00-00.00 as consequences of human activities at night bazaar coupled with reduction of mixing layer, decreased wind speed and termination of photolysis nighttime. Morning peaks of carboaceous compounds were observed during the sampling period of 06:00 -09:00, emphasizing the main contribution of traffic emission in the three cities. The estimation of incremental lifetime partculate matter exposure (ILPE) raises concern of high risk of carbonaceous accumulation over workers and residents living close to the observatory sites. The average values of incremental lifrtime particulate matter exposure (ILPE) of total carbon at Baiyoke Suit Hotel and Baiyoke Sky Hotel are approsimately ten time shigher then those air sample collected at prince of songkla University Hat-Yai campus corpse incinerator and fish-can maufacturing factory but only slightly higher than those of rice straw burnig in Songkla province. This indicates a high risk of developing lung cancer and other respiratory diseases across workers and residents living in high buildings located in Pratunam area. Using knowledge of carbonaceous fractions in $PM_{10}$, one can estimate the gas-particle partitioning of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Dachs-Eisenreich model highlights the crucial role of adsorption in gas-particle partitioning of low molecular weight PAHs, whereas both absorption and adsorption tend to account for gas-particle partitioning of high molecular weight PAHs in urban residential zones of Thailand. Interestingly, the absorption mode alone plays a minor role in gas-partcle partitiining of PAHs in Chiang-Mai, Bangkok and hat-Yai.

The purpose of this study was to examine violence response, burnout, and job satisfaction according to violent episodes of emergency room workers. Methods : This Study was a descriptive survey design using convenience sampling. This study was exempt from needing an IRB approval. There were 167 emergency room workers, who agreed to participate in this study, and took a self-report questionnaire between July and August 2015. SPSS 21.0 version was used for descriptive analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) 84.4% of participant experienced violent episodes. The frequency of verbal violence was highest. Violent attackers were patients and guardians with drunken state. The time of violence episodes was usually during the night. Violent experience of doctors and nurses was very high. 2) There were significant differences in the emotional response according to violent episodes (t=2.528, p=0.12) 3) The correlation between \response and burnout was statistically significant, and indicates a high positive correlation (r=.616, p=<.001). The correlation between violence response and job satisfaction was statistically significant, indicating a negative correlation (r=-.512, p=<.001). There was a negative correlation between burnout and job satisfaction with statistical significance (r=-.568, p=<.001). 4) Significant factors influencing job satisfaction were emotional response to violence and burnout. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide basic information for the strategies of preventing violence, decreasing burnout, and improving job satisfaction by developing a violence management program.
