A New Record of the Genus Stenomacrus (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Orthocentrinae) from South Korea (한국산 얼굴긴뺨자루맵시벌속(벌목: 맵시벌과: 긴뺨자루맵시벌아과)의 미기록종 보고)

  • Stenomacrus deletus (Thomson, 1897), belonging to Orthocentrinae of Ichneumonidae, is newly recognized in South Korea. Most Stenomacrus species are known as koinobiont endoparasitoids of dipteran, lepidopteran, and coleopteran hosts. In this study, an additional species is recorded for the first time from South Korea. Diagnoses of genus and an unrecorded species, as well as illustrations of this species are provided.

  • Ogma koesanense sp.n. has two head annuli. The first head annule is much larger than the second; blunt scales mare or less in 17-19 longitudinal l~nes and acute tail. Criconemello onnuiata. Criconema cardamoml, Ogma decalineaturn, 0. dtyum are newly recorded from Korea. Morphological characteristics of previously reported speaes, Ciiconema demani is discussed.

  • A thysanopteran pest pest was collected from the damaged leaves of Fuyu persimmon (Diospyrosi kaki) at Changwon, Gyeongnam province in June, 2000. The thrips was identified as Japanese gall-forming thrips, Ponticulothrips diospyrosi(Phlaeothripidae). which is newly recorded in Korea. Brief morphological and ecological characters, damage symptoms, and distribution in Gyeongnam province were provided.

  • Helicotylenchus clarkei Sher, 1966 and Rotylenchus usitatus Van den Berg et Heyns, 1974 were newly found in Korea from medicinal plant collection field in Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Administration, Daegu, Korea. So far, 9 species of Rotylechus (R. usitatus) and 8 species of Helicotylenchus (H. belli, H. cavenessi, H. clarkei, H. digonicus, H. dihystera, H. erythrinae, H. paraplatyarus, H. pseudorobustus) are recorded in Korea.

  • Korean Curculioninae are revised herein, and totally 28 species belonging to 5 genra are treated. Among them, 13 species with 1 subgenus and 2 genera are new to science, and 7 species with 1 genus are newly recorded from Korea. Keys are given for all the taxa respectively, and host plants and domestic localities for each species ar provided.

  • This report deals with three species belonging to three genera of anthomyiid pests from Korea, among them one species is new to science as: Emmesomyia koreana n. sp., and two species are newly recorded from Korean fauna: Meliniella luteipennis (Ringdahl, 1950) and Delia echinata (Seguy, 1923).

  • A Phycitine species, Dioryctiria juniperella Yamanaka, is reported for the first time from Korea. Larval characters is also shown with its illustration. Juniperus chinensis L., J. chinensis var. globosa H., and J. procumbens S. are known as host plants for the species in this country.

  • A termitophilous tribe, Rhyparini Schmidt, 1910 of the subfamily Aphodiinae Leach, 1815 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) is newly recorded from Korea for the first time, based on Rhyparus azumai azumai Nakane, 1956. A redescription, illustrations of diagnostic characteristics including male genitalia, and a key to Korean tribe of the subfamily are provided.
