Three fungi newly intercepted from importing plants were identified in 2004. They were Ascochyta chrysanthemi on Lactuca sativa from China, A. spinaciicola on Spinacia oleracea from Denmark, and Leptosphaerulina australis on Brassica oleracea var. capitata from China. The characters of these fungi were described and illustrated.

Gongylidioides kaihotsui Saito and Ono, 2001 and Mermessus naniwaensis (Oi, 1960) of Linyphiidae are described from Korea with taxonomic illustrations. The genera Gongylidioides Oi, 1960 and Mermessus O.P.-Cambridge, 1899 are newly recorded genera to Korean spider fauna.

Three species of the Laboulbenia are newly described from Korea. Laboulbenia borealis were collected from the sternites of the back abdomen of Gyrinus japonicus. L. humilis were collected from the upper side of the abdomen of Chlaenius naeviger. L. benjaminii were collected from the abdomen of Stenolophus difficilis.

A new limnephilid caddisfly, Nothopsyche bilobata n. sp., is described. The female adult of Apatania martima Ivanov and Levanidova and the larva of Ecclisomyia kamtshatica (Martynov) is newly recorded from Korea. Three undetermined species, Nemotaulius sp. A, Nemotaulius sp. B, and Nothopsyche sp. A, are additionally described.

A new variety, Lecanorchis japonica var. insularis (Orchidaceae: Vanilloideae), a mycoheterotrophic orchid from Jejudo Island, Korea, is described and illustrated. It usually grows with L. japonica var. japonica, L. japonica var. hokurikuensis and L. kiusiana in evergreen forests. The newly described variety is distinguished from L. japonica vars. japonica, hokurikuensis, and kiiensis by having fully opened, larger flowers and an obtuse labellum apex.

Typhlodromips geumgangensis n. sp. is described in Korea. Typhlodromips paraki, newly recorded species from this country, is redescribed based on Korean specimens, and key to the species of the genus Typhlodromips is provided.

In this paper, a newly developed uninterruptible power supply adopted insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBT'S) is introduced. The focus is on harmonic reduction, high efficiency and so on. The overview, hardware and software of the newly developed ups system are also discussed. Finally, the merit of the newly developed ups compared with conventional ups is described.

We introduce a new type of fractional derivative, which we call as the right local general truncated M-fractional derivative for α-differentiable functions that generalizes the fractional derivative type introduced by Anastassiou. This newly defined operator generalizes the standard properties and results of the integer order calculus viz. the Rolle's theorem, the mean value theorem and its extension, inverse property, the fundamental theorem of calculus and the theorem of integration by parts. Then we represent a relation of the newly defined fractional derivative with known fractional derivative and in context with this derivative a physical problem, Kirchoff's voltage law, is generalized. Also, the importance of this newly defined operator with respect to the flexibility in the parametric values is described via the comparison of the solutions in the graphs using MATLAB software.

Three species of Poecilosclerid sponge (class Demospongiae, subclass Ceractinomorpha) are newly described from the waters around Cheju Island Keomun Island and Keoje Island. They are Antho (Plocamia) bakusi, Clathria (clathria) koreana and Oxymycale rhoi.

Four species of the family Lycosidae are reported. Alopecosa gachangensis n. sp. is described from Daegu, Korea. A. aculeata (Clerck, 1757), Lycosa boninensis Tanaka, 1989 and Pardosa hokkaido Tanaka and Suwa, 1986 are newly recorded to the Korean spider fauna.
