  • The present study summarizes the taxonomic notes and korean distribution of 29 taxa of the desmids (Chlorophyta) collected from several swamps, reservoirs, rivers, and high land wetlands in South Korea from 2009 to 2013. All of these consisting of 9 genera (Tetmemorus 1 taxon, Pleurotaenium 5 taxa, Triploceras 1 taxon, Euastrum 7 taxa, Cosmarium 6 taxa, Staurastrum 5 taxa, Xanthidium 1 taxon, Hyalotheca 2 taxa, and Desmidium 1 taxon) are newly described in Korean freshwater algal flora. In this study, light microscopy of all of these are presented and briefly discussed with regard to their taxonomy, distribution and ecology within South Korea.

  • A new species of Theridiidae, Carniella coreana sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Korea. The male of this newly described species is most similar to Carniella tsurui Ono, 2007 in the general shape of its palp, but can be distinguished by the winding structure of the embolus and broad tipped and twisted embolic apophysis. The genus Carniella Thaler & Steinberger, 1988 is newly recorded to Korean spider fauna.

  • The characteristics of insect communities in specific localities reflect climatic and environmental status and change. We investigated the description pattern of new insect species by reviewing announcements of new or newly recorded insects in Korea published in five systematic journals between 1999 and 2009: Entomological Research (1999-2009), Insect Koreana (1999-2003), Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology (1999-2009), Korean Journal of Applied Entomology (1999-2009), and Korean Journal of Systematic Zoology (1999-2009). A total of 757 new species were reported in 299 research papers. More than 85% of the newly described or reported species belonged to four orders: Coleoptera (225 species), Lepidoptera (202 species), Hymenoptera (141 species), and Diptera (82 species). The number of new species fluctuated from year to year, and a few major authors described most species. The graph of the cumulative number of species described in Korea was not asymptotic. We also examined the decadal trends in the proportion of species according to their biogeographical origin. The numbers of northern (Palearctic and Nearctic) and southern (Oriental) species recorded in Korea between 1999 and 2009 were increasing mainly due to the recent taxonomic research environment. It is also possible that recent climatic change induces new migrants toKorea from more southern parts of Oriental region, but more information is needed to confirm this hypothesis.

  • A newly recorded species Orientomaera incisa Ariyama, 2020, belonging to the family Maeridae Krapp-Schickel, 2008, was collected from the sublittoral waters of the East Sea, Korea. Previously, only one species, O. brevispina (Kim and Kim, 1991), was reported in Korea. This species morphologically similar to O. brevispina however, the species can be easily distinguished from the O. brevispina by having two distinct teeth on palm of gnathopod 2. The newly recorded species is described and fully illustrated in the present study.

  • 1. Purpose We can find the Newly created prescriptions of ShinChukBon DongyiSuseBowon which is not described at the Discourse on the Constitutional Symptoms and Diseases and still more not exist symptom in charge. And some of prescriptions of Discourse on the Constitutional Symptoms and Diseases is not described the composition. So how can we understand that prescriptions is the purpose of research. 2. Methods All the prescription of ShinChukBon DongyiSuseBowon is analyzed by many directions and compared with early books which is DongyiSuseBowonSasangChoBonKywun, GaBoBon DongyiSuseBowon etc. 3. Result and Conclusion We can find the analysis of prescriptions of ShinChukBon DongyiSuseBowon as follows. All prescriptions can't be make clear the base of the Discourse on the Constitutional Symptoms and Diseases as only ShinChukBon DongyiSuseBowon. And that is made at the different period More research is need that how can we understand the Newly created prescriptions which is not described at the Discourse on the Constitutional Symptoms and prescriptions of Discourse on the Constitutional Symptoms and Diseases which is not described the composition. So we must expain again in view of the varies period.

  • Two Entoloma species, E. eugenei and E. subaraneosum, are described here as newly recorded species in Korea. These two species were recently described from far Eastern Asia, Primorsky Territory of Russia, and Jilin province of China, respectively. Here, these species were reported based on internal transcribed spacer and partial large subunit of ribosomal RNA sequences, and macro- and micro-scopic characteristics for the first time in Korea.

  • In this study, aquatic and aerial algae were collected in various environments in Hongcheon-river of Gangwan-do between December 2011 and June 2012, with the aim of adding newly described genera and species to the Korean flora. As a result, five genera and eight species were recorded for the first time in Korea. These newly recorded genera and species were Cylindrocapsa geminella, Leptosira mediciana, Pseudendoclonium basiliense var. brandii, Stichococcus minor, S. deasonii, Eustigmatos polyphem, Nephrodiella lunaris, and Xanthonema exile. The eight taxa identified in this study mostly corresponded to their reported morphological characteristics. However, some differences from previous published descriptions were found; N. lunaria, reported to be an aquatic species in a previous study, was found to be an aerial algae inhabiting on rocks and mosses. Cylindrocapsa geminella was found to transform into attached or planktonic algae depending on the environmental condition, and the cell wall was found to be changed. Likewise, E. polyphem was seen to change cell-shape or chloroplast color according to the environment.

  • Two newly recorded small orb weavers, Araneus yasudai Tanikawa, 2001 and Neoscona flavida sp. nov., with characteristic epigynal scape belonging to Araneidae are described with measurements and morphological illustrations from Korea. Both species were collected with sweep net between shrubs and bushes in mountain forest and between reeds in reclaimed land, respectively.

  • Autonomous mobile robot Yamabico and his newly developed ultrasonic range finding module(URF) are described. Yamabico is a self-contained autonomous robot for in-door environment. It has a modularized architecture, which consists of master module, ultrasonic range finding module, locomotion module, voice synthesizer module and console. Newly developed ultrasonic range finding module has a 68000 processor and Dual-port memory for communication. It controls the ultrasonic transmitters and receivers and calculate the range distances for 12-direction, simultaneously within every 60 milliseconds.
