  • Many spiders belonging to Enoplognatha Pavesi, 1880 and Parasteatoda Archer, 1946 of Theridiidae were collected with sweep net between shrubs and bushes in the mountain forest during a survey of the mountain spider fauna. Among the spiders collected, male Enoplognatha gramineusa Zhu, 1998 and female Parasteatoda ryukyu (Yoshida 2000) were recognized as newly recorded spiders to Korean spider fauna. The present work describes these two spiders with measurements and morphological illustrations.

  • On this paper, the traditional methods for the measurement of ship's maneuverabilities during the sea-trial of newly built ship are summarized and new methods for the same measurement using Integrated Navigation System and GPS are introduced. After various sea-trials of training ship "HANNARA" which are equipped with modern INS and GPS system, the results are compared and analysed. The purpose of this paper is to present more accurate methods of measurement of ship's maneuverabilities during sea-trial using INS and GPS which are gradually becoming the basic navigational equipments on many newly constructed vessels.d vessels.

  • Autonomous mobile robot Yamabico and his newly developed ultrasonic range finding module(URF) are described. Yamabico is a self-contained autonomous robot for in-door environment. It has a modularized architecture, which consists of master module, ultrasonic range finding module, locomotion module, voice synthesizer module and console. Newly developed ultrasonic range finding module has a 68000 processor and Dual-port memory for communication. It controls the ultrasonic transmitters and receivers and calculate the range distances for 12-direction, simultaneously within every 60 milliseconds.

  • A newly devised linear flexures bearing (KIMM-LFB) for reciprocating machines is disclosed having improved reliability for long lift. KIMM-LFB is an integrated device comprising a axially moving diaphragm with circumferentially arranged arc-shaped flexure blades secured between rim and hub spacers, which turn out to have higher radial stiffness and lower Von-Mises peak stresses than the one with circumferential tangent cantilever flexure blades. • A new seismic design criteria of electric transmission and substation facilities has been proposed. For this propose, the historic data of the earthquake damage and the state-of-the-art of the facilities were carefully reviewed and evaluated. Based on the results, a most reasonable and efficient design criteria has been extracted and proposed for the practical design of the facilities. The criteria is expected to be effectively used for obtaining the seismic safety of newly constructed or extensioning facilities. However, an independent criteria is required to evaluate and improve the seismic capacity of existing facilities

  • The steady state performance test for the digital protective relay using general relay test equipment has been main test methods. Because of the development of advanced power system testing equipments, dynamic performance test has been carried out additionally using a digital simulator such as RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator). For the case of newly adopted digital protective relay with IEC 61850 and network, performance testing items need supplementing. This report displays testing items change according to newly protective relay.

  • Three fungi newly intercepted from importing plants were identified in 2004. They were Ascochyta chrysanthemi on Lactuca sativa from China, A. spinaciicola on Spinacia oleracea from Denmark, and Leptosphaerulina australis on Brassica oleracea var. capitata from China. The characters of these fungi were described and illustrated.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the biocompatibility of AH 26, AH Plus, Pulp Canal Sealer, Adseal-1 and Adseal-2(newly developed resin-based sealers) using subcutaneous implantation test. 64 Sprague-Dawley rats were used. Three rats were used for each sealer for every experimental period (1, 2, 4, 12 weeks). The teflon tubes (5mm length, 1.5mm diameter) were washed with ethanol and distilled water and autoclaved. After anethesia four subcutaneous pockets (depth > 10mm) were prepared in each animal.(omitted)
