The Study of New Digital Generation's Utilization of Fashion Information (디지털 신세대의 패션트렌드 인지도와 수용도가 패션정보 활용도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate recognition degree and acceptability of fashion trends of new consumers who live in digital era, and to determine how these factors have influence on their use of fashion trend information. The study was conducted with 696 people from 15 to 34 years old. A self-administrated questionnaire based on the results of previous researches was developed. The data were analyzed with statistical analyses such as frequency analysis, mean, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression analysis. The results are as follows: first, new digital consumer's recognition degree (RD) of fashion trends is 7.85 on the average, given that the top of scale is 20.0, it is quite low. Of fashion trend RD, fashion item RD is the highest. The female subjects recognize fashion trends better than the male subjects. Second, fashion trend acceptance of new digital generation is classified into 5 factors: 'search acceptance', 'lead acceptance', 'follow acceptance', 'non-acceptance', and 'delay acceptance'. The female subjects show higher degree in the factors of 'search acceptance', 'lead acceptance' and 'follow acceptance' of fashion trend than the males; hence it means that the females have more positive attitudes in fashion trend acceptance than the males. Third, there are significant differences between genders in the fashion information utilization. Compared to the males, the females more use fashion information on style, fabrics and color. Concludingly, their fashion trend recognition degree and acceptance made an influence in part on their utilization of fashion information.

  • The aim of the study was to grasp the current trends and to predict the future trends of space composition characteristics by analyzing floorplans drawn by housewives as their ideal apartments. The content analysis method was used for this study. This research used data from a competition held in 1993 by a housing construction company. Among 3,102 floorplans collected 12,232 were selected by Proportional Stratified Sampling Method. The major findings are as follows; 1) Some major features were interpreted as current trends; respondents wanted new rooms that could accomodate various functions separated the private spaces from public trends; they wanted to expand the verandah both visually and actually put importance on the number of bathrooms and have the space for outdoor living and leisure activities.

Analysis of Trend and Convergence for Science and Technology using the VOSviewer

  • In this study, articles of the science and technology field that had been monitored for the period from 2002 to 2013 using GTB (Global Trends Briefing) were analyzed. Specifically, the VOSviewer was used to analyze the annual science and technology trends by keyword and the science and technology standard-classification information indicated in the GTB articles, and the convergence trends were therefore monitored. The findings of this study show that active studies were under way in the fields of material science and new and renewable energy, and that convergence has progressed. This result indicates that the information of the articles on papers and patents is more reliable, as it can reflect the current trends more rapidly in the science and technology field than the paper information or the patent information that is traditionally used in analyses of science and technology information.

  • Nursing research in the United States (US) spans several decades. Many of the priorities/trends have stayed through the years. Today, the goal of producing evidence to support nursing care interventions coupled with the drive for Magnet Recognition has encouraged academic nurses (faculty) to work with nurse clinicians to form research teams. Interdisciplinary research teams have also formed to address growing concerns over patient safety and quality care. These issues are not just US issues but global ones. This article addresses US trends with the link to global research trends. The role that organizations such as the International Council of Nurses (ICN), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Council of International Neonatal Nurses, Inc. (COINN) pay in shaping research agendas and promoting nursing research is highlighted. It emphasizes the key role that nurses, especially nurse leaders/administrators play in changing health outcomes through support of nursing research.

  • Hair styles which independently coexist by transcending the time and space under the environment of highly developed information and communication technology of recent years, were analyzed. Moreover the concerned trends of art which influenced on these styles were introduced in this study. Through IT based information exchange produced new hair styles which have the technological images. The characteristics of these hair styles are investigated also. For the examination of yearly trends, hair styles in fashion collections of Yves Saint Larent during 1962 to 1999 were examined and classified. The results show that time variated trends are appeared in this period. For the analysis of the trends of hair styles featuring technological images, hair styles in fashion collection of Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel in the early 2000s are quoted.

Topics and Trends in Metadata Research

  • While the body of research on metadata has grown substantially, there has been a lack of systematic analysis of the field of metadata. In this study, we attempt to fill this gap by examining metadata literature spanning the past 20 years. With the combination of a text mining technique, topic modeling, and network analysis, we analyzed 2,713 scholarly papers on metadata published between 1995 and 2014 and identified main topics and trends in metadata research. As the result of topic modeling, 20 topics were discovered and, among those, the most prominent topics were reviewed in detail. In addition, the changes over time in the topic composition, in terms of both the relative topic proportions and the structure of topic networks, were traced to find past and emerging trends in research. The results show that a number of core themes in metadata research have been established over the past decades and the field has advanced, embracing and responding to the dynamic changes in information environments as well as new developments in the professional field.

  • Social media is a window for everyone, individuals, communities, and companies to spread ideas and promote trends and products. With these opportunities, challenges and problems related to security, privacy and rights arose. Also, the data accumulated from social media has become a fertile source for many analytics, inference, and experimentation with new technologies in the field of data science. In this chapter, emphasis will be given to methods of trend analysis, especially ensemble learning methods. Ensemble learning methods embrace the concept of cooperation between different learning methods rather than competition between them. Therefore, in this chapter, we will discuss the most important trends in ensemble learning and their applications in analysing social media data and anticipating the most important future trends.

Global trends emphasize a comprehensive command-centered approach, with top leadership directing cybersecurity policies. Key policy areas include security across technology ecosystems, protection of critical infrastructure, and software supply chain security. Investment is being focused on zero-trust architectures, software bills, and new technologies like artificial intelligence. For countries like Korea, immediate response and adaptation to these trends are crucial to develop and enforce national cybersecurity policies.

  • This paper introduces the technological development trends in on-device SLMs (Small Language Models). Large Language Models (LLMs) based on the transformer model have gained global attention with the emergence of ChatGPT, providing detailed and sophisticated responses across various knowledge domains, thereby increasing their impact across society. While major global tech companies are continuously announcing new LLMs or enhancing their capabilities, the development of SLMs, which are lightweight versions of LLMs, is intensely progressing. SLMs have the advantage of being able to run as on-device AI on smartphones or edge devices with limited memory and computing resources, enabling their application in various fields from a commercialization perspective. This paper examines the technical features for developing SLMs, lightweight technologies, semiconductor technology development trends for on-device AI, and potential applications across various industries.

Research Perspectives for Developing Seawater Intrusion Indicators in Changing Environments with Case Studies of Korean Coastal Aquifers: A Review

  • The global use of groundwater in coastal areas has increased. Events such as seawater intrusion (SWI) are expected to increase along with the acceleration of natural disasters owing to environmental changes such as climate change, resulting in large-scale damage worldwide. Current trends in the research of coastal groundwater and related natural disasters include testing and verifying technologies using major case studies from individual countries. We identified global research trends in coastal groundwater, related these trends to changing environments and climate, and confirmed the qualitative and quantitative growth of these studies. This study describes the theoretical background and techniques for coastal groundwater analysis and details regional-scale SWI indicators based on analytical and numerical studies. This review highlights recent technologies that consider uncertainty and promotes discussions on field data obtained using new technologies. Finally, the research findings and trends for a regional coastal aquifer in Korea are discussed to describe recent SWI approaches for groundwater resources.
