Prepositional stranding (P-Stranding), which was possible only in certain types of constructions in Old English, began to be allowed more freely in the Middle English (ME) period, resulting in many new types of P-Stranding. Although many relevant studies have tried to account for the development of these new P-Stranding types, none of them or no combination of them seem to adequately explain how the new types came into being in ME and why they occurred in the order in which they occurred. In this paper, I explain why the development of new P-Stranding types in Middle English cannot be properly explained by any of the previous studies and then provide an alternative account of the advent of each new type of P-Stranding and the chronology involved on the basis of the displacement of the prepositional object from PP (DPO), a constraint on DPO (DPO), and the subject requirement (SubjR).

The importance of multiwavelength astronomical surveys is discussed in the context of galaxy evolution. The AKARI Deep Field South (ADF-S) is a new, well placed survey field that is already the subject of studies at a wide range of wavelengths. A number of ADF-S observational programmes are discussed and the prospects for the ADF-S as a future resource for extragalactic astronomy is explored.

We introduce and discuss a new numerical method for solving system of second order boundary value problems, where the solution is required to satisfy some extra continuity conditions on the subintervals in addition to the usual boundary conditions. We show that the present method gives approximations which are better than that produced by other collocation, finite difference and spline methods. Numerical example is presented to illustrate the applicability of the new method. AMS Mathematics Subject Classification : 65L12, 49J40.

The Generalized Assignment (GAP) determines the minimum assignment of n tasks to m workstations such that each task is assigned to exactly one workstation, subject to the capacity of a workstation. In this paper, we presented a new heuristic search algorithm for GAPs. Then we tested it on 4 different benchmark sample sets of random problems generated according to uniform distribution on a microcomputer.

The main subject of this paper is the development of new ROBOT CONTROLLER, which can support MULTI-TASKING and MULTI-ROBOT functions. The system consists of various kinds of CPU modules according to their independent jobs. Acceleration and Deceleration profile is given in order to achieve the smooth robot motion and high cycle time. Further the communication capacity should be upgraded to meet the various kinds of peripheral PA devices.

The image of architecture changes with its age. In spite of its age, traditional architecture still looks like beautiful. This study is to define the change of image for traditional architecture with its appearance. I-se Jingu, Japan was selected for subject architecture because of its new and old one were in same site. In part 1, the image was considered with six scales: gorgeous-modest, strict-loose, hard-soft, orderly-disorder, new-old, and beautiful-ugly. The image of strict-loose, hard-soft, orderly-disorder related with the style, roof materials and damage of materials. Respectively the image of gorgeous-modest is relevent to "beautifulness", regardless of its age.f its age.

In order to measure the shape deformation of seat surfaces, an indentation measurement mat was devised. The 50cm * 50 cm mat containing small polyethylene beads were made using two sheets of polyurethane film. The indentation measurement mat was shaped by vacuuming between the subject and the testing seat. This method showed less than 5mm of deformation measurement error. Deformation of CADILLAC and MAXIMA seats were compared to demonstrate usefulness of the new method.

Value Engineering has been recognized by many companies as a powerful and innovative techniques approach for cost down and improvement in function of product and service. Functional evaluation is the most important progress in VE activities. But it is often difficult to evaluate the function of a certain subject because the evaluation of function is very vague. This paper presents a new functional evaluation method using fuzzy theory. The purpose of this proposed method is the improvement in the precision of functional evaluation.

Random walks as specia Markov stochastic processes have received particular attention in recent years. Not only the applicability of the theory already developed but also its extension within the frame work of probability measures on algebraic-topological structures such as semigroups, groups and linear spaces became a new challenge for research work in the field. At the same time new insights into classical problems were obtained which in various cases lead to a more efficient presentation of the subject. Consequently the teaching of random walks at all levels should profit from the recent development.

The purpose of this study is to propose the expansion of headings for digital trends of Korean Decimal Classification. In order to achieve the purpose, this study first analyzed the change process of classification items related to digital resources in DDC and KDC. Second, subject names related to digital in LCSH and Korean National Library Subject Heading were analyzed. Third, comparisons between the items related to digital of DDC 23rd with LCSH and KDC with Korean National Library Subject Heading were conducted. The result of comparative analysis was identified that KDC 6th edition faces with difficulties in reasonable classification because item names related to digital of KDC 6th edition have 11 items. Therefore, the item related to digital has to be expanded to new classification item name and has to add include notes and class here notes in KDC.
