A new standard white-pink flower rose cultivar 'Innocence' was bred from the cross between white standard cultivar 'Juvena' and green-white standard cultivar 'Green Success' at the Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services (JARES). The cross was made in 2001 and, 'Innocence' was finally selected in 2006 after investigating characteristics for three times from 2004 to 2006. 'Innocence' a white-pink standard cultivar has good flower shape with few prickles. The major characteristics of this cultivar were $118.7stems{\cdot}m^{-2}$ in year yield, 68.0 cm in length of cut flower, 10.9 cm in flower diameter, 34.4 in petal number, and 10.7 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar was relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Rose Yumi'.

A winter forage tetraploid rye (Secale cereale L.) cultivar, 'Daegokgreen', was developed at the Department of Central Area Crop Science, NICS, RDA in 2016. The mutant line 'CG11003-8-B', which was induced from rye cultivar 'Gogu' (diploid) by colchicine treatment, was selected for its excellent agronomic performance and was placed in preliminary yield trials for one year, 2013. The line was designated "Homil59" and was tested for regional yield trials at the four locations in Korea from 2014 to 2016. Finally, the new cultivar was named as the 'Daegokgreen' (grant number 8274). The leaf of cultivar 'Daegokgreen' is wide, long and dark-green color. The cultivar also has a big-size grain with light-brown color. The heading date of cultivar 'Daegokgreen' was April 17 which was 2 days later than that of check cultivar 'Gogu'. The tolerance to cold and wet injury, and resistance to powdery mildew and leaf rust of the new cultivar were similar to those of the check cultivar but the resistance to the lodging of the new cultivar was stronger than that of the check. The average roughage fresh and dry matter yield of the new cultivar after 10 days from heading were 37.0 and 7.7 MT ha-1, respectively, which were similar to those (38.4 and 8.0 MT ha-1) of the check cultivar. The roughage quality of 'Daegokgreen' was higher in crude protein content (8.9%) than that of the check cultivar (7.9%), while was similar to the check in total digestible nutrients (56.9%). This cultivar is recommended for fall sowing forage crops at all of crop cultivation areas in Korea.

The Asian pear (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) has historically been one of the most popular fruits in Korea because of its sweetness and juiciness. Nowadays, 81.5 % pears of the 'Niitaka' cultivar are grown in Korea, and most of these are consumed as table fruits. Due to the increase in consumer demand for novel Asian pear varieties, developing new cultivars is of great commercial interest. Since 1984, 'Niitaka' cultivar has been introduced in Korea and 13.3 % was developed into new cultivars in the last 20 years alone. Recently, the consumption rate of fresh Asian pears has been limited. The demand for pears, especially the 'Niitaka' cultivar has no longer increased. As a result, new cultivars of Asian pears have been introduced and their properties have been investigated. This review article provides an overview of the physicochemical characteristics and antioxidant activities of new cultivars of Asian pears.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Lovely Moon' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2008. A cross was made between 'Sever Line' and 'Angel' with yellow and semi-double flower in 2005. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2005 to 2008), it was selected specially for the use of cut flowers. 'Lovely Moon' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow (RHS Y13B), yellow green center and semi-double flower. The average flower diameter is 12.7 cm, a large flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 6.10 cm and 2.80 cm, respectively. It produces a large number of flowers with continuous supply of flowers and has a long peduncle height. We believe that 'Lovely Moon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farm income.

A cross was made between 'Pavlov' and 'Patrick' with pink and semi-double in 2006. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2006 to 2009), it was selected for the use of cut flower. 'Sunny Lemon' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow flower color (RHS Y9C), brown center and semi-double. The average flower diameter is 11.0 cm. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 7.63 cm and 2.59 cm, respectively. Days to first blooming are 84.5, approximately 2 weeks earlier than the standard cultivar. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of cut flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that 'Sunny Lemon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farmers' income.

New mulberry cultivar, Shinsungppong which was resistant to main mulberry disease was bred and resistered as a commercial cultivar. Local adaptability test has been carried out at three places (Suwon, Kongju, and Jinju) for four years since 2001. Leaf quality was tested by silkworm rearing for two silkworm rearing seasons (spring and autumn) at Suwon in 2000. Shinsungppong was recognized to be superior by 7% in productivity to control cultivar, Sangilppong. The new cultivar, Shinsungppong, has following agronomic characteristics as compared with Sangilppong, which is known as a resistant cultivar to mulberry disease in Korea. It is belonging to Morus alba L. with mixed shapes from the ovate to 5 lobated leaf shape, sprouting in spring nearly the same to the Sangilppong (Morus alba L.), high leaf yielding by 7% compared to Sangilppong (Morus alba L.). It is adaptable to everywhere except the places where cold damage frequently in Korea. Sangilppong is recommended to rear silkworms not only in spring but also in autumn besides for young silkworms.

A new mungbean cultivar "Dahyeon" (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) was derived from the cross between Jeonnam11 and AV-1-3-34-204 at National Institute Crop Science (NICS) and Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research & Extension Services (JARES) in 2006. "ahyeon" has erect growth habit, heart leaflet, green hypocotyl, black and straight pod when matured, and dull green seed surface. The pods number per plant was 21.0, which was 4.0 more than check cultivar "wool" The plant height and thousand seed weight were 57cm and 48 g respectively. The sprout yield was up to 5% more than that of the check cultivar. It was field resistance to mungbean mottle virus, cercospora leaf spot, and powdery mildew. The average yield was 1.90 ton/ha, which was 17% more than the check cultivar.

New standard carnation cultivar "Jasujung" was bred from the cross of red standard cultivar "Francesco" and purple standard cultivar "Saturn" at the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science. It was crossed in 1996 and finally selected in 2000 after investigation of the characteristics for 4 years from 1997 to 2000. "Jasujung", purple standard cultivar for cut flower, has good fragrance and long stem. Especially, it is strong resistance against Fusarium wilt. This cultivar is recommended to grow over $8^{\circ}C$ at night and under $25^{\circ}C$ at days.

A new rose cultivar was developed from a cross between "Neon" and "Hello" by the rose breeding team of Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 1999. The cultivar, "Loving You" was finally selected in 2007 after evaluation trials for three years (2005-2007). The cultivar was developed for a standard-type cut flower with pink petals. "Loving You" grows vigorously and produces $108.5stems/m^2$ in a year, and has 50.2 petals per flower. The days to flower was 46 days, which is very short in rose. The length of cut flower was long with 76.8 cm. Vase-life of the cultivar could be as long as 11 days. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2007.

A new cultivars Dendranthema grandiflourm 'Dream Moon' was developed at Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services (GARES), Korea in 2008. The cultivar 'Dream Moon' was derived from a cross between 'Patra', a spray cultivar with yellow single type, and 'Sei-rosa', a spray cultivar with pink single type in 2005. The cultivar has single type flowers with pink petals. Trial evaluation was conducted from 2006 to 2008 for a shading cultivation in summer and a retarding cultivation in spring. The flowering time of 'Dream Moon' is late October, and year-round flowering is possible by shade or light treatment. The diameter of flower is 56.0 mm. Numbers of flowers per stem and petals per flower are 16.4 and 24.6, respectively. After investing of specific characters from 2006 to 2008, it was finally selected and named 'Dream Moon'. It has resistance to white rust and the vase life is about 20.7days in autumn season.
