Estimation and Control of Speed of Induction Motor using FNN and ANN (FNN과 ANN을 이용한 유도전동기의 속도 제어 및 추정)

  • This paper is proposed fuzzy neural network(FNN) and artificial neural network(ANN) based on the vector controlled induction motor drive system. The hybrid combination of fuzzy control and neural network will produce a powerful representation flexibility and numerical processing capability. Also, this paper is proposed control and estimation of speed of induction motor using fuzzy and neural network. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The error between the desired state variable and the actual one is back-propagated to adjust the rotor speed, so that the actual state variable will coincide with the desired one. The back propagation mechanism is easy to derive and the estimated speed tracks precisely the actual motor speed. This paper is proposed the experimental results to verify the effectiveness of the new method.

A self-organizing algorithm for multi-layer neural networks (다층 신경회로망을 위한 자기 구성 알고리즘)

  • When a neural network is used to solve a given problem it is necessary to match the complexity of the network to that of the problem because the complexity of the network significantly affects its learning capability and generalization performance. Thus, it is desirable to have an algorithm that can find appropriate network structures in a self-organizing way. This paper proposes algorithms which automatically organize feed forward multi-layer neural networks with sigmoid hidden neurons for given problems. Using both constructive procedures and pruning procedures, the proposed algorithms try to find the near optimal network, which is compact and shows good generalization performance. The performances of the proposed algorithms are tested on four function regression problems. The results demonstrate that our algorithms successfully generate near-optimal networks in comparison with the previous method and the neural networks of fixed topology.

  • Constructing the maximum displacement and shear force database for the seismic performance of building with soil-structure interaction under varied earthquake scenarios and geotechnical conditions is critical in developing the neural network-based prediction models. However, using the available 3D FEM-based computer simulation techniques causes high computation costs in developing the database. This study introduces the framework of developing the artificial neural network (ANN) model to predict the seismic performance of building at given Poisson's ratio and shear wave velocity of soil. The simple Single-Degree-Of-Freedom system was used to develop the database and the performance of the developed neural network model is discussed through the evaluated coefficient of determination (R2). In addition, ANN models were developed for 90~100% percentile of the database to assess the accuracy of the developed ANN models in each percentile.

  • This paper is proposed adaptive fuzzy-neuro controller for high performance of induction motor drive. The design of this algorithm based on fuzzy-neural network controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural network. This controller uses fuzzy nile as training patterns of a neural network. Also, this controller uses the back-propagation method to adjust the weights between the neurons of neural network in order to minimize the error between the command output and actual output. A model reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and change of error measured between the motor speed and output of a reference model. The control performance of the adaptive fuzzy-neuro controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. The results of experiment prove that the proposed control system has strong high performance and robustness to parameter variation, and steady-state accuracy and transient response.

  • The acceleration sensor and the gyroscopic sensor are used as representative sensors to detect repetitive motion and have been used to analyze various sporting components. However, both sensors have problems with noise sensitivity and accumulation of errors. There have been attempts to use two sensors together to overcome hardware problems. The complementary filter has shown successful results in mitigating the problems of both sensors by minimizing the disadvantages of accelerometer and gyroscope sensors and maximizing their advantages. In this paper, we proposed a modified method using neural network to reduce variable. The neural network is an algorithm that can precisely measure even in unexpected environments or situations by pre-learning the number of various cases. The proposed method applies a Neural Network by dividing the repetitive motion into three sections, the first, the middle and the end. As a result, the recognition rate is 96.35%, 98.77%, 96.92% and the accuracy is 97.18%.

  • The FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is stronger to the disturbance and has the excellent characteristic to the overshoot of the initialized value than the classical controller, and also can carry out the proper control being out of all relation to the mathematical model and parameter value of the system. But it has the restriction which can't adopt the environment changes of the control system because of generating the fuzzy control rule through an expert's experience and the fixed value of the once determined control rule, and also can't converge correctly to the desired value because of haying the minute error of the controller output value. Now there are many suggested methods to eliminate the minute error, we also suggest the GA-FNNIC(Genetic Algorithm Fuzzy Neural Network Intelligence Controller) combined FLC with NN(Neural Network) and GA(Genetic Algorithm). In this paper, we compare the suggested GA-FNNIC with FLC and analyze the output characteristics, convergence speed, overshoot and rising time. Finally we show that the GA-FNNIC converge correctly to the desirable value without any error.

  • Recently, an automatic crane control system is required with high speed and rapid transportation. Therefore, when container is transferred from th intial coordinate to the finial coordinate, the container paths should be built in terms of the least time and no swing. So in this paper, we calculated the anti-collision path for avoiding collision in its movement to the finial coordinate. And we constructed the neural network predictive PID (NNPPID) controller to control the precise navigation. The proposed predictive control system is composed of the neural network predictor, PID controller, neural network self-tuner which yields parameters of PID. Analyzed crane system through simulation, and proved excellency of control performance than other conventional controllers.

  • In this paper described an auto tuning neuro-fuzzy PID controller based neural network. The PID type controller has been widely used in industrial application due to its simply control structure, easy of design, and inexpensive cost. However, control performance of the PID type controller suffers greatly from high uncertainty and nonlinearity of the system, large disturbances and so on. In this paper will design to take advantage of neural network fuzzy theory and pid controller auto toning technique. The value of initial scaling factors of the proposed controller were determined on the basis of the conventional PID controller parameters tuning methods and then they were adjusted by using neural network control techniques. This controller simple structure and computational complexity are less, and also application is easy and performance is excellent in system that is strong and has nonlinearity to system dynamic behaviour change or disturbance. Finally, the proposed auto tuning neuro-fuzzy controller is applied to magnetic levitation. Simulation results demonstrated that the control performance of the proposed controller is better than that of the conventional controller.

Evolutionary Design of Radial Basis Function-based Polynomial Neural Network with the aid of Information Granulation (정보 입자화를 통한 방사형 기저 함수 기반 다항식 신경 회로망의 진화론적 설계)

  • In this paper, we introduce a new topology of Radial Basis Function-based Polynomial Neural Networks (RPNN) that is based on a genetically optimized multi-layer perceptron with Radial Polynomial Neurons (RPNs). This study offers a comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of optimization algorithms, especially Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms. In contrast to the typical architectures encountered in Polynomial Neural Networks (PNNs), our main objective is to develop a design strategy of RPNNs as follows : (a) The architecture of the proposed network consists of Radial Polynomial Neurons (RPNs). In here, the RPN is fully reflective of the structure encountered in numeric data which are granulated with the aid of Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method. The RPN dwells on the concepts of a collection of radial basis function and the function-based nonlinear (polynomial) processing. (b) The PSO-based design procedure being applied at each layer of RPNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes of the network (RPNs) whose local characteristics (such as the number of input variables, a collection of the specific subset of input variables, the order of the polynomial, and the number of clusters as well as a fuzzification coefficient in the FCM clustering) can be easily adjusted. The performance of the RPNN is quantified through the experimentation where we use a number of modeling benchmarks - NOx emission process data of gas turbine power plant and learning machine data(Automobile Miles Per Gallon Data) already experimented with in fuzzy or neurofuzzy modeling. A comparative analysis reveals that the proposed RPNN exhibits higher accuracy and superb predictive capability in comparison to some previous models available in the literature.

Missing Hydrological Data Estimation using Neural Network and Real Time Data Reconciliation (신경망을 이용한 결측 수문자료 추정 및 실시간 자료 보정)

  • Rainfall data is the most basic input data to analyze the hydrological phenomena and can be missing due to various reasons. In this research, a neural network based model to estimate missing rainfall data as approximate values was developed for 12 rainfall stations in the Soyang river basin to improve existing methods. This approach using neural network has shown to be useful in many applications to deal with complicated natural phenomena and displayed better results compared to the popular offline estimating methods, such as RDS(Reciprocal Distance Squared) method and AMM(Arithmetic Mean Method). Additionally, we proposed automated data reconciliation systems composed of a neural network learning processer to be capable of real-time reconciliation to transmit reliable hydrological data online.
