기능성 변비를 가진 여대생의 식습관, 생활 스트레스 및 건강관련 삶의 질의 관계 (Correlation among Dietary Habits Score, Life Stress Score and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL) Score for Female College Students with Functional Constipation)

  • 본 연구는 기능성 변비를 가진 여대생들의 식습관, 생활 스트레스, 건강관련 삶의 질을 파악한 후 이들의 관계를 살펴보고자 인천지역 대학교에서 건강관련 교양 강의를 듣는 여대생을 대상 (265명)으로 설문조사와 신체계측을 실시하였다. 기능성 변비의 기준은 로마기준 II를 이용하였으며, 정상군은 179명 (67.5%), 기능성변비군은 86명 (32.5%) 이었다. 조사대상자의 평균 연령은 20.8세, 자택에서 거주하는 비율은 69.8%로 가장 많았으며 20~40만원을 받고 있는 학생이 전체의 61.1%이었고 변비 유무에 따른 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 식습관 점수를 살펴보면 식품섭취의 다양성에 관한 항목은 변비군이 정상군에 비해 유의적으로 낮았고 나머지 항목들은 유의적이지는 않지만 낮은 경향을 보였다. 변비군과 정상군 모두 채소류 섭취와 유제품 섭취에 관한 점수가 가장 낮았다. 스트레스 점수는 교수 문제, 학업 문제, 경제 문제, 가치관 문제와 총 합계 점수에서 변비군이 정상군에 비해 유의적으로 높았다. 건강관련 삶의 질을 SF-36을 통해 살펴본 결과 변비군의 평균은 70.4점, 정상군의 평균은 74.3점으로 변비군의 삶의 질이 정상군보다 낮음을 알 수 있었고, 8개의 항목 중 신체적 역할 제한 영역, 감정적 역할 제한 영역 또한 변비군이 정상군에 비해 유의적으로 낮은 점수를 보였다. 기능성 변비를 가지고 있는 여학생들의 식습관 점수, 생활 스트레스 점수, 건강관련 삶의 질 점수의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 생활 스트레스 점수는 식습관 점수와 유의한 부적 상관관계 (r = -0.221, p < 0.05)를 보여 생활 스트레스가 높을수록 식습관 점수가 낮았고, 스트레스와 건강관련 삶의 질 간에도 부적 상관관계 (r = -0.539, p < 0.001)를 보여 생활 스트레스가 높을수록 건강관련 삶의 질이 낮아짐을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과들로 볼 때 기능성 변비를 가진 경우 식품을 다양하게 섭취하도록 교육하고, 스트레스를 낮출 수 있도록 스트레스 관리에 대한 중재가 필요하다고 판단된다.

신규대졸자의 비영리영역과 영리영역 간 직업이동과 직무만족 변화 (Cross-sector Job Mobility and Job Satisfaction Change among College Graduates)

  • 본 연구는 비영리조직과 영리조직의 영역 간 직업이동과 조직원의 직무만족도 변화의 관계를 분석함으로써 영역 간 이동 현상에 대한 이해 제고를 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국고용정보원의 대졸자 직업이동경로 패널조사자료(GOMS)를 토대로 직무만족의 연도 간 변화치를 측정하는 1차 차분모형을 활용한다. 비영리조직에 지속적으로 남아있는 이들을 준거집단으로 하여, 영리조직으로부터 비영리조직으로 이직한 집단, 비영리조직으로부터 영리조직으로 이직한 집단, 영리조직에 남아있는 집단 등의 직무만족 변화를 비교한다. 분석결과, 한국 사회에서도 영역 간 직업이동은 활발한데, 특히 비영리조직으로부터 직업 활동을 시작한 이들에게서 이러한 현상이 보다 두드러지는 것으로 나타났다. 직무만족의 수준을 보면, 비영리조직에 남아있는 집단의 만족 수준이 지속적으로 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 다른 세 집단의 경우에 비해서, 비영리조직에 남아있는 집단의 만족도의 부정적 변화가 상대적으로 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이와 함께 본 연구는 직무만족의 다양한 구성내용을 중심으로 네 집단 간의 비교를 수행한다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 지금까지 우리 사회에서 전혀 연구되지 않았던 주제인 영역 간 직업이동과 직무만족의 변화라는 현상이 제공하는 함의를 논의한다.

양극성 장애 환자의 개인적·사회적 기능 상태에 대한 관련 요인 (Factors Associated with Personal and Social Performance Status in Patients with Bipolar Disorder)

  • 목 적 : 양극성 장애 환자의 기능은 증상의 심각도, 약물 순응도, 수면의 질, 사회적 지지와 관련되어 있다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는, 정신사회적 요인들과 인구학적 요인들이 양극성 장애 환자의 기능 상태와 갖는 연관성에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 본 연구에서는 양극성 장애 환자 52명을 대상으로 하였다. 다음과 같은 임상적 척도들이 수행되었다: 한국판 personal and social performance scale (K-PSP), 한국판 Hamilton rating scale for depression (K-HDRS), 한국판 young mania rating scale (K-YMRS), 한국판 Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI-K), 한국판 drug attitude inventory (K-DAI), mood disorders insight scale (MDIS), multidimensional scale of perceived social support (MSPSS). 연구 대상의 기능 상태와 임상적 변수들 간의 관계는 상관 분석을 사용하여 분석하였고, 이어 다중 선형 회귀분석을 시행하였다. 결 과 : 전체 K-PSP 점수의 평균은 $57.92{\pm}13.76$이었다. 전체 K-PSP 점수는 K-HDRS 점수와는 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다(r = -0.387, p = 0.005). 반면, K-YMRS 점수와 전체 K-PSP 점수는 통계적으로 의미 있는 관계가 도출되지 않았다(r = -0.205, p = 0.145). 전체 K-PSP 점수는 PSQI-K 총점(r = -0.378, p = 0.005) 및 전반적인 수면의 질(r = -0.353, p = 0.010)과 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 전체 K-PSP 점수는 KDAI 점수(r = 0.409, p = 0.003) 및 총 MSPSS 점수(r = 0.334, p = 0.015)와는 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 전체 K-PSP에 대하여 설명 가능한 변수들은 PSQI-K 중 전반적인 수면의 질과 MSPSS 중 가족에 의한 지지였다(adjusted $R^2=28.3%$). 결 론 : 본 연구에서는 우울 증상이 심할수록, 전반적인 수면의 질이 낮을수록, 약물에 대해 부정적으로 인식할수록, 사회적 지지가 적을수록 양극성 장애 환자의 기능 수준이 저하된다는 결과를 제시해주었다. 양극성 장애 환자의 기능 상태는 환자가 보고하는 전반적인 수면의 질과 가족에 의한 사회적 지지를 통해 예측 가능하므로, 환자의 수면 만족도를 증진시키고 가족에 의하여 적절한 지지를 제공하는 것이 양극성 장애 환자의 기능 회복과 사회적 복귀에 있어서 중요한 부분이라고 시사된다.

한방 비만클리닉에 내원한 일부 비만 여성의 삶의 질 (Quality of Life of Some Obese Patients Wanted to Receive Korean Traditional Medicine)

  • Obesity is chronic disease which influenced on health severly. The causes of obesity have been known as life change, lack of excercise, genetic factor, mental and social economic factors. Especially the obesity of women increased the risk of the diseases such as DM, osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease, breast cancer and infertility. The limitations of the widely used negative definition of health as the absence of disease and WHO's 1946 definition of health as total social, psychological and physical well-being have long been recognized (WHO 1958). The Quality of Life (QoL) includes functional ability, the degree and quality of social and community interaction, psychological well-being as somatic sensation and life satisfaction. I investigated to compare the differences between obese women (n=63), non-obese women (n=37) in clinic and general women (n=43, control) on baseline characteristics and WHO QoL-BREF. The purpose of this study is to assist the diagnosis and treatment of obesity. WHO QoL-BREF is self administered type which consisted of 26 questions. The prospective question is calculated with 5 scores by Likert's method. The results are as follows : The means of physical, psychological, social, overall and total scores of QoL were significant among BMI group (P<0.05). The score of control group (BMI < 25) was higher than other groups significantly (P<0.05). In multiple regression analysis, the variable of high school/below middle school was significant in environmental and overall domain of QoL scores (P<0.05). The variable of college/below middle school was significant in environmental, overall domain and total score of QoL scores (P<0.05). The variable of above university/below middle school was significant in physical health, environmental, overall domain and total score in QoL scores (P<0.05). The variable of Health perception (moderate/bad) was positively significant in physical health, environmental, overall domain and total score of QoL scores (P<0.05). The variable of Health perception (good/bed) was positively significant in physical health, environmental, social, overall domain and total score of QoL scores (P<0.05). The variable as BMI non-=obese women/control was negatively significant in social domain of QoL scores (P<0.05). Above the results, It suggests that the variable as BMI did't affect on the QoL in patients and control, but the variables as education and health perception affected on the QoL scores. Further study is required to conduct QoL differences between before and after treatment of obese patients.

치과위생사의 자아존중감에 융합적으로 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting the Self Esteem of a Convergence Dental Hygienist)

  • 본 연구는 치과위생사들을 대상으로 자아존중감에 융합적으로 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해 파악하고자 치과위생사를 대상으로 분석하였다. 자아존중감 점수에 따른 셀프리더십과 전문직 자아개념 척도별 차이는 자아존중감 점수가 높은 그룹이 낮은 그룹보다 셀프리더십과 전문직 자아개념 척도 정도가 높게 나타나 유의한 결과를 나타내었다(p<.001). 자아존중감 점수에 따른 임상수행능력별 차이는 자아존중감 점수가 높은 그룹이 낮은 그룹보다 임상수행능력별 정도가 높게 나타나 유의한 결과를 나타내었다(p<.01). 각 요인별 상관관계는 자아존중감과 감정노동(p<.01), 소진(p<.01)은 음의 상관관계를 나타내었고, 셀프리더십(p<.01)과 전문직 자아개념 척도(p<.01), 임상수행능력(p<.01)에서 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 요인은 임상수행능력정도(p<.05)와 소진(p<.01)으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과 자아존중감을 높일 수 있는 병원 내 프로그램, 교육 등이 융합적으로 이루어져 스스로의 능력을 발휘 할 수 있는 임상수행능력을 향상시켜야 한다.

재가 노인의 삶에서의 음식 만족도와 우울, 고독감, 사회적지지, 생활만족도와의 관계 (The Relationships among Satisfaction with Food-Related Life, Depression, Isolation, Social Support, and Overall Satisfaction of Life in Elderly South Koreans)

  • Food is an essential component of good health and a high quality of life. This is especially true for the elderly, where health and quality of life can vary due to eating issues. This study attempts to measure the satisfaction with food-related life in the elderly of South Korea, while examining differences in social support, depression, isolation, and life satisfaction based on the level of satisfaction with food-related life. Data collection was conducted using one-on-one surveys from December 2011 to January 2012. A total of 390 elderly (aged 65 and over) who live in Korea participated in this study. The results showed that the satisfaction with food-related life was high (3.52 out of 5). The elderly who had company during a meal or a meal preparer showed a higher satisfaction with their food-related life. Social support was high (5.32 out of 7) and the feelings of isolation were low (3.85 out of 5). The average satisfaction with life was 4.42 out of 7, indicating a fair satisfaction with life, while the average depression score was relatively low (8.77 out of 26). In general, the elderly with a higher satisfaction with food-related life had a higher social support and overall satisfaction with their life. On the other hand, the elderly with a lower satisfaction with food-related life generally reported higher levels of depression and isolation. A positive correlation was observed between satisfaction with food-related life, social support, and satisfaction of life, while a negative correlation was found between satisfaction with food-related life, isolation, and depression. The results of this study indicate that managing the satisfaction with food-related life is an important component of mental health in the elderly.

Exploring parenting variables associated with sweetness preferences and sweets intake of children

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Excessive sugar intake is one of the causes associated with obesity and several chronic diseases prevalent in the modern society. This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of parenting variables based on the theory of planned behavior, on the sweetness preferences and sweets intake of children. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Parents and their children (n = 103, aged 5-7 years) were enrolled to participate in a survey for this study, after providing the required informed consent. Parents were asked to fill out a self-administered questionnaire at their residence. The sweetness preference test for children was conducted at a kindergarten (or daycare center) by applying the one-on-one interview method. RESULTS: The children were divided into two clusters categorized by the K-mean cluster analysis: Cluster 1 had higher sweetness preference (0.42 M sugar, 35%; 0.61 M sugar, 65%); Cluster 2 exhibited lower sweetness preference (0.14 M sugar, 9.5%; 0.20 M sugar, 9.5%; 0.29 M sugar, 81%). Cluster 1 had a higher frequency of sweets intake (P < 0.01), and lower sweets restriction (P < 0.05) and nutrition quotient score (P < 0.05). Sweets intake was negatively correlated with the nutritional quotient (r = -0.204, P < 0.05). The behavioral intention of parents was higher in cluster 2 (P < 0.05), while affective attitude, feeding practice, and reward were higher in cluster 1 (P < 0.001, P < 0.05, and P < 0.01, respectively). Furthermore, behavioral intention of parents showed a negative correlation with affective attitude (r = -0.282, P < 0.01) and feeding practice (r = -0.380, P < 0.01), and a positive correlation with subjective norm (r = 0.203, P < 0.05) and parenting attitude (r = 0.433, P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: This study indicates that the sweetness preferences and sweets intake of children is related to the parent's affective attitude, feeding practice and reward. We suggest that to reduce the sugar consumption of children, guidelines for access to sweets and pertinent parenting practices are required.

Effect of Postmortem Metabolic Rate on Meat Color

  • The current study was conducted to evaluate carcass characteristics, objectives and sensory meat qualities of Hanwoo longissimus muscle as affected by ultimate pH. Twenty-four steers and bulls ($556{\pm}53$ kg and $0.63{\pm}0.32$cm for live weight and backfat thickness, respectively) were used. As there was a linear relationship (r = 0.77) between lean meat color and ultimate pH, cattles were thus segregated into normal $pH{\leq}5.8$, Normal, n = 13) and DFD (pH>5.8, n = 11) groups. Normal pH group had significantly (p<0.05) higher carcass weight, marbling score and backfat thickness than those for high pH group, while fat color and lean meat color were inverse. In principle component analysis for co-ordinates of DFD and normal meats, fat color, lean meat color, texture, time to pH 6.2 and pH at 24 h postmortem were associated with the positive range of the first factor (67.5%) while backfat thickness marbling score and temperature at 24 h were placed in negative values. The rate constant of decline in pH (pH k) did not differ between the two groups, implying that initial pH (i.e., pH at slaughtering) differed between two groups. Contour mapping of pH k between pH at 1 and 24 h postmortem indicated that high pH k was related to lower pHs at 1 and 24 h postmortem. This suggested that the high pH cattles (i.e., DFD cattle) resulted from their own potential. Although the time to reach pH 6.2 was significantly (p<0.05) shorter for normal meat (i.e., 3.2 h) than that for DFD one (i.e., 19.8 h), there were no significantly differences in both WB-shear force and sensory attributes. Given that the experimental animals were sampled from a similar group, which implies a similar myoglobin pigment content, the current data suggested that pre- and post-slaughter animal handling likely had a significant effect on ultimate pH and consequently meat color of Hanwoo longissimus muscle, and also small animals with lower marbling score and backfat thickness had a higher risk for DFD meat.

Comparisons between the KKU-Model and Conventional Rectal Tubes as Markers for Checking Rectal Doses during Intracavitary Brachytherapy of Cervical Cancer

  • Background: To compare the KKU-model rectal tube (KKU-tube) and the conventional rectal tube (CRT) for checking rectal doses during high-dose-rate intracavitary brachytherapy (HDR-ICBT) of cervical cancer. Materials and Methods: Between February 2010 and January 2011, thirty -two patients with cervical cancer were enrolled and treated with external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and intracavitary brachytherapy (ICBT). The KKU-tube and CRT were applied intrarectally in the same patients at alternate sessions as references for calculation of rectal doses during ICBT. The gold standard references of rectum anatomical markers which are most proximal to radiation sources were anterior rectal walls (ARW) adjacent to the uterine cervix demonstrated by barium sulfate suspension enema. The calculated rectal doses derived from actual anterior rectal walls, CRT and the anterior surfaces of the KKU-tubes were compared by using the paired t-test. The pain caused by insertion of each type of rectal tube was assessed by the visual analogue scale (VAS). Results: The mean dose of CRT was lower than the mean dose of ARW ($Dmean_0-Dmean_1$) by $80.55{\pm}47.33cGy$ (p-value <0.05). The mean dose of the KKU-tube was lower than the mean dose of ARW ($Dmean_0-Dmean_2$) by $30.82{\pm}24.20cGy$ (p-value <0.05). The mean dose difference [($Dmean_0-Dmean_1$)-($Dmean_0-Dmean_2$)] was $49.72{\pm}51.60cGy$, which was statistically significant between 42.32 cGy -57.13 cGy with the t-value of 13.24 (p-value <0.05). The maximum rectal dose by using CRT was higher than the KKU-tube as much as 75.26 cGy and statistically significant with the t-score of 7.55 (p-value <0.05). The mean doses at the anterior rectal wall while using the CRTs and the KKU-tubes were not significantly different (p-value=0.09). The mean pain score during insertion of the CRT was significantly higher than the KKU-tube by a t-score of 6.15 (p-value <0.05) Conclusions: The KKU-model rectal tube was found to be an easily producible, applicable and reliable instrument as a reference for evaluating the rectal dose during ICBT of cervical cancer without negative effects on the patients.

간호대학생의 경제의식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Consciousness of Economic Ethics in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose : The present study attempted to consider the degree of consciousness of economic ethics in nursing students and the factors affecting these perceptions. Method : A survey was conducted to a total of 874 nursing students from the freshmen and seniors of 11 depts of nursing science nationwide selected by convenience sampling (one for each province, and as for Gangwon-do, two schools were selected from Yeongdong area and Yeongseo area ; 13 male students were excluded). A structured questionnaire was used to collect data on their demographic characteristics and economic ethical perceptions. Collected data were analyzed using the SAS V8.1 statistical package. Result : (1) The score for the economic ethical consciousness of the subjects was $36.76{\pm}10.20$. As for each sub-categories, the score for industry was $7.67{\pm}2.77$; thrift, $7.42{\pm}2.37$; cooperation, $7.41{\pm}2.21$; occupational consciousness, $7.18{\pm}2.20$; and, for consumption, $7.02{\pm}1.90$. The score for the consciousness of consumption was the lowest. (2) Among the demographic characteristics of the subjects, age was found to have a statistically significant positive relation to the consciousness of economic ethics(r=.13, p<.001). The next significant factor was grade: seniors seemed to have a higher economic consciousness in all the sub-categories than freshmen(t=-4.32, p<.001). The number of in-home family has a statistically significant negative correlation with economic attitudes(r=-.15, p<.001). In addition, their economic ethical perceptions were significantly higher with no religion (t=2.14, p<.05); have an unemployed father (t=2.78, p<.05); have credit cards under their own names (t=3.04, p<.05); have ever had overdue card bills (t=4.25, p<.001); have ever had part time job(t=1.74, p<.1) and when they don't live with their parents (t=-2.01, p<.05). 3) A multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the influential power of the factors affecting the consciousness of economic ethics of the subjects. The factors had more influence on the economic attitudes of the seniors than those of freshmen; in those who having credit cards under their own names than under others; and, in those who have ever experienced credit default than those haven't. Though these factors raised average 3.0 points of economic consciousness, their expository power for the consciousness were low. Conclusion : The nursing students had medium-high consciousness of economic ethics and they seemed to have low consciousness of the proper consumption practices. Their actual life experiences had an influence on their economic attitudes. Therefore, practical programs on economic knowledge should be developed and taught to students systematically at school so that they could have sound consciousness of economic ethics and appropriate knowledge closely related with their real life.
