This study was to investigate the operation status and the students' perception for both theory-focused and practice-focused online class in engineering college that were implemented in responses to COVID-19. For this purpose of the study, the survey including the open-ended questions were conducted to the 147 students in college of engineering in 2021 at one of the universities located in the metropolitan area. The survey were analyzed by SPSS 26.0 and then findings were as follows. First, while the most students were satisfied with the operation of online classes that were implemented in response to COVID-19, many students were unsatisfied with the practice-focused online class. Also, there were some differences in the level of students' satisfaction for some factors of online class operation in terms of the students' background. Second, there were significant differences in some parts of students' satisfaction in terms of the background of students. specifically, males students were more satisfied with the supports of teaching assistant in online classes than female students and the junior and senior levels of students are more satisfied with the teaching strategies of online classes than freshman and sophomore year students. Third, the level of students' satisfaction was different in terms of the types of online platforms as well as the methods of communication between students and professors. Finally, even though the students in the college of engineering understand the benefits in the online classes, they indicated the limitations and difficulties for participating in practice-focused online class and demanded the improvement of the operation for the online lab classes. The further research needs to be conducted to investigate the status of operation for online lab and practice classes in college of engineering.

팬데믹으로 인해 초등교육 현장에서 온라인 수업은 보편적인 교수·학습 방법으로 자리매김하였고, 온라인 환경의 특성 및 교과 특수성을 반영해 온라인 수업을 설계하고 실행하는 것이 초등교사들에게 필수 역량이 되었다. 온라인 수학 수업의 질적 개선은 교사들이 온라인 수업에서 실제로 어떤 어려움을 겪고 있는지를 살펴보는 것으로부터 출발할 수 있고, 본 연구는 상호작용 측면에서 초등교사들이 인식하고 실행하는 정도를 조사하여 그들의 교육요구도를 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 초등학교에서 온라인 수학 수업의 설계를 위해 학습자-학습내용 상호작용과 학습자-학습자 상호작용에 관한 교육이 필요한 것으로 나타났고, 상호작용의 세부 항목별 교육요구도를 확인할 수 있었다. 더 나아가, 초등교사의 생애단계에 따라 상호작용 유형에 대한 교육요구도에 차이가 있음을 발견하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 초등교사들의 온라인 수학 수업에서 상호작용에 관한 설계 전략과 그들의 교육요구도를 반영한 교사교육의 시사점을 제안하였다.

The tourism industry has attained remarkable growth, and the need for professional Tourism English education has increased. Universities of online education can offer an environment for education to both job applicants and laymen who are interested in Tourism English. Tourism English belongs to English for Specific Purposes, which reflects the needs of specific area. The aim of this study is to propose improvements in classes design for online Tourism English instruction. The results of a needs analysis conducted on 160 Korean online university students suggest that online Tourism English class should be different from a traditional classroom-based one in regards to aims, contents, and methods. Online Tourism English class should not only focus on English for specific purposes, but also include more generalized topics. This comes as a result of the diverse backgrounds of online students. The results suggest that extralinguistic elements, such as culture and etiquette differences among English-speaking countries, become more interesting when introduced using pictures, videos, animations, etc. Additionally, SMS or emails can be utilized to raise students' motivation for online Tourism English class.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought dramatic changes in the field of engineering education. Contrary to the traditional engineering education emphasis on content-oriented, design-based, hands-on, experimental, and field experience, most of engineering classes in 2020 had to be undertaken remotely online. However, it has not been explored how professors and students perceive about such a shift in engineering education. The aim of the current study was to investigate the perceptions of professors and students on online classes in engineering colleges during spring Semester 2020. Questionnaire data were collected from 100 professors and 4,152 students in the college of engineering. The results of this study were as following: Students were less satisfied with the online classes than professors. The online lecture method that students were most satisfied with was the recorded lecture. This is likely due to the fact that the recorded lectures can be repeated multiple times anytime, anywhere. Moreover, the experimental classes, which conventionally has more of an emphasis on the hands-on experience, also had to be conducted remotely, showing even lower satisfaction among students. Most of professors reported that the average hours they spent on preparing for online lecture increased compared to face-to-face class. Both professors and students preferred in-person exam as a desirable method of end-of-semester assessment for grading. The results of the current study have important implications for the improvement of online course environments. It is important for professors to design a structured class suitable for online education and understand the challenges students encounter during online classes. Also, professors should communicate more openly about their expectations and rubrics for class goals and assignments. Schools also needs to make effort to provide the support for the internet environment of students.

본 연구는 학습자 특성(성별 및 학교 급)에 따른 온라인 수업 유형 선호도를 파악하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 전국 17개 지역의 초·중·고등학교 학생 4,803명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이후, 유효데이터인 4,524명 학생들의 성별 및 학교급을 기반한 온라인 수업 유형 선호도 패턴을 확인하기 위해 Apriori 알고리즘을 이용한 연관규칙 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 초등 7개, 중등 4개, 고등 5개 등 총 16개의 규칙을 도출하였으며, 학교급과 무관하게 여학생들은 메이커활동 중심 수업을, 초·중 남학생은 가상체험중심 수업을 공통적으로 선호하였다. 보다 구체적으로, 초등학교 남학생은 SW중심수업을, 여학생은 메이커활동 중심 수업을 선호하였으며, 중학생의 경우 남여 모두 가상체험중심 수업을 선호하였다. 반면 고등학생은 교과별 강의중심에 대한 선호도가 높았다. 이러한 연구결과는 학습의 주체자인 학생이 가진 온라인 수업의 요구를 설명하는 실증적 근거로서 제시될 수 있다. 또한, 본 연구는 향후 온라인 수업의 다각화를 위한 개선방향을 제시, 탐색하는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 추후 연구에서는 다양한 온라인 수업 활동 및 모델 설계, 온라인 수업을 지원하는 플랫폼 개발, 여학생의 이공계 진로동기 형성과정에 대한 심층적 분석이 계속되어야 할 것이다.

이 연구는 코로나19 이후 진행된 실시간 온라인 수업에 대한 학습자의 만족도를 조사하고 분석하여 효과성을 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 경상남도 C대학교에서 2020학년도 2학기 말에 온라인 설문조사에 응답한 188명의 학습자를 대상으로 결과 분석을 진행한 결과, 학습자는 실시간 온라인 수업에 대해 만족하지 않았으며, 온라인 수업을 부정적으로 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 전체 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수는 수업내용이며, 그 다음으로 수업 운영, 플랫폼 순이었다. 따라서 교수자는 학습자가 만족하는 실시간 온라인 수업을 위해 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수인 수업내용을 고려하여 효과적으로 수업내용을 구성함으로써 학습자의 이해를 높일 필요가 있다. 또한 학습자에게 익숙하지 않은 온라인 수업 환경에서 효과적인 학습이 이루어지도록, 교수자는 체계적이고 충실한 수업 설계를 통해 학습자가 수업에 사용되는 플랫폼에 익숙해져 원활한 사용이 가능하여지도록 해야 할 것이다. 이에 더해, 학습자의 요구와 어려움을 파악하여 학습에 차질이 생기지 않도록 수업을 계획하고 운영할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 한 개 대학 학습자를 대상으로 이루어졌다는 점과 한정된 변수만을 측정하였다는 한계가 있다.

COVID-19 팬데믹으로 대면 수업이 어려워지면서 불가피하게 온라인 수업을 진행해오고 있다. 지속적인 온라인 학습에 대한 연구가 한창인 가운데, 교육부는 일상 회복과 함께 단계적 대면 수업 전환 계획을 발표하였다. 대학에서 이처럼 대면 수업을 추진하고자 하는 입장과 온라인 수업을 선호하는 입장, 그리고 수업의 주최인 학생들의 입장이 상이한 가운데 수업에 대한 의견 또한 상이하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수업의 주최인 학생의 입장을 중심으로 한 '위드코로나' 시대의 교수법을 고찰하고자 한다. 본 연구는 교수자들의 교수법에 대한 고찰과 수요자인 학습자들의 요구를 분석하고 이를 반영한 혁신적 교수법으로 나아가는 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The characteristic aspects of learning a foreign language require special resources and tools for online learning. Criteria for choosing educational platforms depend on key elements of an academic subject area. Microsoft Teams (hereafter, MT) educational platform is competitive one because it meets most of the needs that arise during the formation of a secondary linguistic persona. Due to the large number of corporate programs, there are a successful acquisition of language skills and the implementation of all types of oral activities of students. A significant MT advantage is the constant analysis and monitoring of the platform of participants' needs in the educational process by developers. The article highlights MT advantages and disadvantages. The attention is drawn to individual programs, which, in the authors' opinion, are the most successful to learn writing, reading, speaking, listening, as well as organize classes that meet needs of modern foreign students.

본 연구는 화상 온라인 하브루타 토론을 통한 사회과 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 초등학교 5학년 학생과 협력학교 학생들 간의 비교 연구를 통해서 살펴보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 화상 회의 장비 및 스마트 기기를 활용한 화상 온라인 수업은 학생들의 수업 흥미 및 참여도를 향상시킨다. 둘째, 하브루타 토론 방법은 학생들이 상호 질문과 토론의 과정을 통해 지식을 스스로 습득하고 내면화 시키며, 발표 및 토론 참여도 향상에 도움이 된다. 셋째, 화상 온라인 수업을 위해 새로운 수업안의 구안 및 교육과정 재구성이 필요하며, 협력 교사간 충분한 준비와 토론과정을 거쳐 수업안을 작성한 후 수업을 전개해야하며, 수업 연구일지 작성 등의 자기 수업 반성의 과정은 화상 온라인 협력 수업의 질을 높이는데 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 넷째, SNS를 활용한 토론 활동은 보조적인 활동으로 활용하는 것이 좋으며, 형성평가를 할 때는 두 교사가 각자 자기 교실의 학생들의 성취도를 확인하는 것이 좋다. 화상 협력학습을 할 수 있는 기자재를 확대 보급하여 화상 온라인 협동 학습을 할 수 있는 학교가 많이 생길 필요가 있다. 화상 온라인 수업의 효과를 극대화하기 위한 다양한 연구 및 교사 연수가 필요하다. 소인수 학급 학생들과 대도시 학급 학생들이 자유롭게 협력학습을 할 수 있는 서버를 교육청에서 마련할 필요가 있다.

This research is a case study about "Critical Thinking and Debate Education" class which was done for freshmen at the engineering college of "S" Women's University. Real time remote classes through LMS and ZOOM were the most effective tools under on-line circumstances, considering the fact that video lectures only cannot cultivate students' capabilities of critical thinking and communication. Throughout the analysis on students' self-reflection journals and lecture evaluations, this paper examined considerable future points and the pros and cons of "Critical Thinking and Debate Education" under online presentation and discussion situation. As research outputs, students told they could feel less nervousness and anxiety when they exercise and have a presentation because they could choose familiar space for them. In addition, students also told that they feel comfortable about both self-feedback and peer evaluation, repeatedly seeing the recorded video clip. However, on the contrary, sometimes students felt uncomfortable due to unstable internet connection through the online classes, and they also were regretful about the missing chances of interaction between a teacher and students and of intimate exchanges among students. They also told they had felt a kind of limit of enhancing their presentation skills just in front of the monitor. Considering these outcomes, this research paper points out that online education needs to be proceeded by strengthening multi layered feedback to students with the build-up of a non-face-to-face stable educational infrastructure, application of online instructional strategy, and utilization of YouTube platform and video contents. Through this research paper, I hope the new system of encompassing on/off line "Critical Thinking and Debate Education" and effective teaching and learning method can be developed soon by strengthening the strength of online education.
