This study is to consider the fundamental perceptions of pre-service elementary school teachers to natural environments. The recognition items of questionnaire for those environments include ones of water, atmospheric, soil, biologic and oceanic environments constituting of the earth system. From the results of the study, they affirmatively recognized biologic environment, but they showed highly negative recognitions to others. In other side, it is considered that their recognitions to natural environments were probably transferred by the things which involve press media, curricula and real lives. On the basis of the study results, systematic teaching-learning for natural environments is essential because the encouragement of eco-friendly attitude, one of main goal for environmental education, is budded from basic understandings to natural environments. Affirmatively environmental worldviews for elementary school students are important for reasons why teacher's quality and practice will is fundamental, and then teacher could change the views of the students for environmental education. So, preparing balanced attitudes, right concepts and connection to applicable knowledges for natural environments, pre-service elementary school teachers in environmental education must be pointed to organized education between human and natural environment.

This study surveyed the general characteristics and forest use characteristics of forest visitors, the healing power of natural environments and Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS) to find out whether humans can feel the healing effects of natural environments. The target area of this study was the natural environments of Bunseong Mountain in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. A total of 50 questionnaires were analyzed. Female visitors and those aged between 40s to 60s accounted for 62% and over 70% respectively. All the surveyed respondents answered 'yes' to the question about the healing effects of Bunseong Mountain and natural environments, and 84% of them answered that they can get 'psychological and physical healing' in Bunseong Mountain. Many respondents chose oxygen, sunlight, and landscape as a healing factor. To the questions about the specific form or conditions of the natural environments that have the healing effects, those who answered 'forest' was the highest (72%), and they described thickness of forests, gentle slope and clean air as their conditions. The average score of the Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS) using a 7-point Likert scale was 5.14. The results of this study indicate that respondents perceive Bunseong Mountain as a restorative environment and think that they can enjoy the healing effects of Bunseong Mountain and natural environments.

The North Korean laws on natural environments, land and infrastructure were comprehensively analyzed in order to help establish the legal system to solve problems of ecosystem and land management in North Korea. The citizen's environmental rights in North Korean Constitutional Law emphasize the aspect of conservation of the natural environments. The laws on the managements of natural environments and land are relatively integrated in North Korea. In the management of natural environments, ecosystem conservation is centered on designation of natural protected areas. Priority for infrastructure construction is emphasized in land management. The economic and technical support is needed to build advanced legal systems for the conservation of natural environments and ecological land management and to improve their performance of law enforcement.

Game environment, game map and background graphic design is very important elements and factors that support fun, look & feel, immersion and player's acting fields. In this paper we defined elements of game background environment. And then make an investigation and refer to sundry records and books, we described elements of periodic environments, historic environments, natural environments, artificial environments, cultural environments, virtual environments, weather environments. Especially, the study suggests the model of game environment desgin to apply game map and game background graphic design.

The current study addresses the local buckling analysis of an infinite thin rectangular symmetrically laminated composite plate restrained by a tensionless Winkler foundation and subjected to uniform in-plane shear loading. An analytic method (i.e., one-dimensional mathematical method) is used to achieve the analytical solution estimate of the contact buckling coefficient. In addition, to study the effect of ply angle and foundation stiffness on the critical buckling coefficients for the laminated composite plates, the parametric studies are implemented. Moreover, the convergence for finite element (FE) mesh is analysed, and then the examples in the parametric study are validated by the FE analysis. The results show that the FE analysis has a good agreement with the analytical solutions. Finally, an example with the analytical solution and FE analysis is presented to demonstrate the availability and feasibility of the presented analytical method.

This paper is intended to investigate the awareness of the elementary school students about the natural environment preservation. For this purpose, 21 elementary school students from the 5th grade of elementary school located in Gwangju city were selected. Especially, we focused on the students' conceptions related to 1) the environments, 2) the safe national land development activity to face several natural disasters and 3) the environmental preservation with the national land development. To evaluate the change of students' conceptions for the national land development, the students were also participated in establishing the plan of the national land development using the model of the natural environment after learning in detail about the natural environments. The results of this study showed that most of the students recognized the concept of the environments as a simple knowledge itself and pollution rather than the protection of environment. In the course of the safe national land development activity to face several natural disasters, the students expressed standardized answer indicating the knowledge based thinking of the environments. According to the results of the environmental preservation with the national land development and the hypothetical project of the national land development, the students did not have enough knowledge for the natural environment preservation although they had understanding of natural disasters and environmental preservation. Therefore, it is necessary to stress affirmative concept for the environment related to the preservation of natural environment. Also we need to develop the syllabus, which is related to the environmental studies, in the elementary educational program leading students to participate in the environmental preservation with the national land development reasonably and practically.

An analytical method is developed for analysing the contact buckling response of infinitely long, thin corrugated plates and flat plates restrained by a Winkler tensionless foundation and subjected to linearly varying in-plane loadings, where the corrugated plates are modelled as orthotropic plates and the flat plates are modelled as isotropic plates. The critical step in the presented method is the explicit expression for the lateral buckling mode function, which is derived through using the energy method. Simply supported and clamped edges conditions on the unloaded edges are considered in this study. The acquired lateral deflection function is applied to the governing buckling equations to eliminate the lateral variable. Considering the boundary conditions and continuity conditions at the border line between the contact and non-contact zones, the buckling coefficients and the corresponding buckling modes are found. The analytical solution to the buckling coefficients is also expressed through a fitted approximate formula in terms of foundation stiffness, which is verified through previous studies and finite element (FE) method.

Chronic patients and staffs in healthcare facilities cannot avoid long-term stays indoors. Therefore, they need to get adequate amounts of sunlight to prevent diseases caused by vitamin D deficiency. This is a case study on the advanced daylighting systems installed to healthcare facilities for therapeutic environments as serving natural light therapy and a pleasant atmosphere. This paper shows daylighting devices that overcome the structural limits of architectural design solutions for inducing natural light. This study presents appropriate daylighting technologies to the purpose and types of healthcare facilities by analyzing therapeutic environmental factors. Natural light delivered through daylighting devices help directly patients recover. In addition, it can improve healthcare providers' performance and productivity, and reduce their errors, thereby creating therapeutic environments for patients, indirectly. Excellent color rendering of solar illumination is also a powerful tool for navigation and wayfinding in the buildings, and for aesthetic treatment in dental office. Furthermore, daylighting systems are streamlined and require the least material and space to attract sunlight up to the deeper inside. But because of expensive cost, they have not yet been widespread. Though daylighting devices are typically more expensive than artificial illuminations to install, the running cost savings can compensate for the initial installation cost. With the development of technology in the future, the market price of them is expected to be formed properly.

The application of knowledge management concepts as a way to improve project success is an emerging topic for project management researches around the world. The Construction Extension to the PMBOK^® Guide Third Edition documents the knowledge and practices that are generally recognized as good practices for managing engineering and construction projects. However, it is not unusual to see that engineering and construction projects suffer from poor performance. Based on a critical literature review, a theoretical framework is developed for the application of knowledge management in engineering and construction projects. This framework is subsequently applied as a lens to examine the construction extension to the PMBOK^® Guide, aiming to identify the key characteristics of knowledge management in this standard. This research also aims to highlight those aspects of the construction extension to the PMBOK^® Guide that can be improved from the knowledge management perspective. Recommendations are made to improve this standard by means of applying knowledge management concept so that better project outcomes can be achieved.

Many libraries have recently become enlarged and industrialized. Spaces dedicated to natural environments and climates in libraries have been isolated, and spaces that take natural environments into consideration have only recently started to receive attention. People all around the world enjoy reading books in nature. Reading is interpreted as the same context as the desire to go somewhere higher. Contemporary people have discovered ways to enjoy reading books along with nature by establishing bookshelves in mountains, forests, or green fields. These people have created libraries that place nature as the protagonist. In spatial terms, natural environments mainly encompass scientific and systemic concepts and embrace a sentimental approach to the natural environments of local areas not previously considered. The purpose of this research study is to present the direction for spatial planning that harmonizes nature with space, and to propose the spatial planning of a "small library" by applying natural environmental characteristics.
