Recently, the importance of choosing correct pavement materials has been increasing in urban spaces and streets. Much research regarding the pavement theory and construction method have been conducted, but analysis in terms of human psychological character has not yet been performed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological characters to 12 pavement materials, that are commonly used in our urban spaces and streets. The results of the psychological character for each pavement material can be summarized as follows: 1. The psychological characters to each pavement material were as follows: ① Clay embodies a natural, traditional, soft and intimate psychological character; ② Pebble stone has a natural, hard, cool and intimate psychological character; ③ Turf grass incorporates an intimate and soft psychological character; ④ Ceramic brick has an artificial and hard psychological character; ⑤ Tile pavement has a modern, artificial, hard and cool psychological character; ⑥ Water permeable concrete has a modern and artificial psychological character; ⑦ Flag stone has a natural psychological character; ⑧ Granite has a modern and artificial psychological character; ⑨ Portland concrete has an artificial and hard psychological character; ⑩ Small compacted brick has an artificial, dynamic and modern psychological character; ⑪ Wood block pavement has a natural and traditional psychological character; ⑫ Asphalt concrete pavement has a modern, hard and artificial character. 2. On the results of the cluster analysis regarding psychological indexes for 12 pavement materials, pavement materials were categorized in 3 clusters. Among them, one cluster was mainly used as the most popular pavement material in our urban spaces and streets. From this point of view, psychological character for pavement material in our urban spaces and streets was not as various as we expected. 3. In conclusion, the proper selection of pavement materials was very important and the factors affecting the human psychological character should be considered in the design of urban spaces and streets.

본 논문은 한글 및 영문자의 구조적 특징을 이용하여 자연영상에서 문자영역을 검출하는 기법을 제안하였다. 자연 영상에서 에지 특징 값을 추출하고 추출된 특징 값은 필터링을 수행하여 문자의 특징에 맞지 않는 특징 값을 제거하여 문자영역 후보를 선정한다. 선정된 문자영역 후보는 한글 자소 병합 알고리즘으로 하나의 문자로 병합하여 후보 문자영역으로 검출하고, 한글 문자 유형 판별 알고리즘으로 한글 문자영역 여부를 판별함으로서 한글 문자영역을 검출하고, 영문자는 영문자 에지 특징 값을 적용하여 영문자 영역을 검출한다. 실험결과, 복잡한 배경을 갖고 다양한 환경에서 촬영된 영상에서 한글 및 영문자 영역을 효과적으로 검출하였고, 제안한 문자영역 검출 방법은 향상된 검출 결과를 보여 주었다.

자연이미지에 포함된 텍스트는 많은 중요한 정보를 포함하고 있다. 그러므로 자연이미지에서 텍스트를 추출할 수 있다면 다양한 분야에서 활용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 문자-에지 맵 패턴 히스토그램 분석함으로서 텍스트 영역을 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 캐니-에지 검출기로 에지를 추출하여 16가지 에지 맵을 생성하고, 에지 맵을 조합하여 문자 특징을 갖는 8가지 문자-에지 맵을 생성한다. 8가지 문자-에지 맵과 16가지 에지 맵을 이용하여 텍스트 후보 영역을 추출하고, 문자-에지 맵의 패턴 히스토그램 및 텍스트 영역의 구조적 특징을 이용하여 텍스트 후보 영역에 대한 검증을 수행하였다. 제안한 방법은 다양한 종류의 자연이미지를 대상으로 실험하였고, 복잡한 배경, 다양한 글꼴, 다양한 텍스트 컬러로 구성된 자연이미지에서 텍스트 영역을 효과적으로 추출하였다.

The modern society which is going through the big turbulence of civilization experiences the lost of humanity and the phenomenon that the standard of our thoughts, like those for good and evil, truth and false is not clear anymore as the technology is being improved. This makes us miss the past when everything is simple and the standards are very clear and being attracted by the metaphorical culture symbolizing something from the past, like memories of youth, fantasies, fairy tales or myths and we are now having a great interest in the joy of life and the affluent life. Influenced by this kind of tendency in modern society, the minimalism, which had the great influence in the nineties, went out of fashion and at last the romantic susceptibility seems to be the trend forming the major mood of the late 20th century - the early 21st century. This study focus is: (1) the theoretical aspects of romantic images such as the concept, the historical tendency and the character are considered. (2) the variety and multiplicity of the romantic images is discussed after the romantic image is classified into four types of retro character, natural character, ethnic character, erotic character according to major trends in our modern. The purpose of this study is to understand the romantic images in modern fashion, by analyzing the fashion trends together with the various features of romantic images.

본 논문은 게임 캐릭터의 자연스러운 점프 동작을 위해 점프 동작요인들이 시각적 효과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 우선, 자연스러운 점프동작을 보여주는 상용 게임 3개를 선정하고 각 게임에서 4가지 체형별 캐릭터 점프 영상을 추출하였다. 이것을 점프동작의 4가지 주요 원칙인, 도약시의 힘, 착지시의 충격, 착지시의 탄력성과 동작의 유연성으로 평가하였다. 그리고 점프 동작별로 시간, 거리, 각도 요인으로 측정하였다. 최종적으로, 게임 캐릭터의 시각적 효과와 동작 요인들과의 일관된 특징을 분석하여 제시하였다. 본 연구는 자연스러운 캐릭터 점프 동작 구현을 위한 기초 자료로 활용이 될 수 있을 것이다.

자연영상에 내포되어 있는 문자는 다양한 내용을 표현하는 중요한 정보이다. 기존의 문자 검출 알고리즘은 영상의 복잡도와 주변의 조명, 문자와 유사한 배경색 등의 환경에서 문자영역을 검출하지 못하는 문제점이 있으므로 본 논문에서는 에지 및 형태학적 재구성에 의한 연결요소를 이용한 자연영상에 포함된 문자영역을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 첫 번째 단계로, 명암도 영상에서 캐니에지(Canny-Edge) 검출기를 이용한 에지 성분과 형태학적 연산에 의한 지역적 최소/최대값을 갖는 연결요소를 검출하고, 각각 검출된 연결성분을 레이블링하고, 레이블링 된 각 성분에 대해 문자가 갖는 특징을 이용한 후보 문자영역을 검출한다. 마지막으로 검출된 후보 문자 영역을 서로 합병하여 하나의 후보 문자 영역을 생성하고, 후보 문자 영역의 인접성과 유사성으로 후보 문자 영역을 검증하여 최종 문자 영역을 검출한다. 실험결과 제안한 에지 및 연결요소 성분을 이용한 방법은 문자영역 검출의 정확성이 개선되었다.

In this paper, we present a novel image operator to extract textual information in natural scene images. First, a powerful refiner called the Stroke Color Extension, which extends the widely used Stroke Width Transform by incorporating color information of strokes, is proposed to achieve significantly enhanced performance on intra-character connection and non-character removal. Second, a character classifier is trained by using gradient features. The classifier not only eliminates non-character components but also remains a large number of characters. Third, an effective extractor called the Character Color Transform combines color information of characters and geometry features. It is used to extract potential characters which are not correctly extracted in previous steps. Fourth, a Convolutional Neural Network model is used to verify text candidates, improving the performance of text detection. The proposed technique is tested on two public datasets, i.e., ICDAR2011 dataset and ICDAR2013 dataset. The experimental results show that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance.

본 논문은 한글 모음의 구조적 특징을 이용하여 자연영상에 포함된 한글 문자영역을 검출하는 기법을 제안하였다. 자연 영상을 명도영상으로 변환하고 에지 및 연결요소 기반 방법으로 특징값을 추출하며, 추출된 특징값은 필터링을 수행하여 한글 문자의 특징에 맞지 않는 특징값을 제거하여 한글 문자영역 병합을 위한 후보를 선정한다. 선정된 후보 특징값은 한글 자소 병합 알고리즘으로 하나의 문자로 병합하여 후보 문자영역으로 검출하고, 한글 문자 유형 판별 알고리즘으로 한글 문자영역 여부를 판별함으로서 최종적인 한글 문자영역을 검출한다. 실험결과, 복잡한 배경을 갖고 다양한 환경에서 촬영된 영상에서 한글 문자영역을 효과적으로 검출하였고, 제안한 문자영역 검출 방법은 향상된 검출 결과를 보여 주었다.

In this paper, we propose a method that extracts features from character patterns using the fractal dimension of chaos theory. The input character pattern image is converted into time-series data. Then, using the modified Henon system suggested in this paper, it determines the last features of the character pattern image after calculating the box-counting dimension, natural measure, information bit, and information (fractal) dimension. Finally, character pattern recognition is performed by statistically finding each information bit that shows the minimum difference compared with a normalized character pattern database.

A objective of this study is to examine a commercial practices and analyze a trade environment for a successful launch of Indonesian market. In general, Indonesian trade environment is composed of a natural environment, religious peculiarity, history and politic, an economic prospect. In order to understand a commercial practice exactly and then be possible a favorable business achievement, a natural character, a mode of living, custom of a meal and invitation, custom of gift, religious taboo, a human relationship, commercial power, a tendency of product preference should be recognized. The results of the study indicate mostly that even though an excellent brand image, a good Quality and an efficient sales network are a basic factor for making of a successful business. However practically it is more important to understand a business custom and a natural character of Indonesian. Because business is made up of through relation between human being eventually.
