  • In this study, flat fluorescent lamps (FFLs) having surface discharge structures was fabricated by screen printing technique and were studied using spectraradiometer and square pulse power supply. Two types of FFLs having different shapes of electrodes (crosstype and line-type structure) were compared with variation of discharge shape and mixed gas ratio.

  • Photoconductive three-wire folded dipole antennas for terahertz photomixers have been developed. The folded antennas are characterized by a free space time-domain measurement technique, and the measured data are in good agreement with the simulation results. The folded dipole antennas have much higher antenna resistance than other resonant dipole antennas, implying that they can be used for higher output power of THz photomixers.

  • The LCD based on Kerr effect is highly interesting because it uses an optically isotropic state with no need of alignment layer and it shows sub-millisecond response time. The problem of the device is that it requires very high operating voltage and the transmittance is relatively low compared with other LCDs that use nematic LC. In this work, we study on various electrode structures and driving method which can lower operating voltage.

  • One of the current innovation trends in the solar industry is the increase in the size of silicon wafers. As the wafer size increases, the series resistance of the module rises, highlighting the need for research on methods for cutting and bonding solar cells. Among these, the Infrared (IR) laser scribing technique has been extensively researched. However, there is still insufficient optimization research regarding the thermal damage caused by lasers on the Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) layer of Heterojunction (HJT) solar cells. Therefore, in this study, we systematically varied conditions such as IR laser scribing speed, frequency, power, and the number of scribes to investigate their impact on the performance of cut cells under each condition. Additionally, we conducted a comparative analysis of thermal damage effects on the TCO layer based on varying scribing depths.

  • In this paper, we investigated the possibility of replicating patterned media by nano-injection molding process with a metallic nano-stamper. The original nano-master was fabricated by E-beam lithography and ICP etching process. The metallic nano-stamper was fabricated using a nanoimprint lithography and nano-electroforming process. Finally, the nano-patterned substrate was replicated using a nano-injection molding process without additional etching process. The replicated patterns using nano-injection molding process were as small as 50 nm in diameter, 150 nm in pitch, and 50 nm in depth.

  • As a process technology of nano pattern with a new conception for economic and practical technology of alternative nano process. process technologies such as Embossing, Imprinting. Molding and Inking are beginning to make its appearance. Among these alternative processes, nano mold process is a process that is of benefit to mass production and keeps excellency of reproduction and high quality of parts. In this study, we experienced micro precision machining technology of nano stamper for the injection mold of optical disk with big capacity. Especially, Flatness and uniformity are important for nano stamper with global area, for the purpose of developing polishing technology of micro precision of Back polishing only being used for nano stamper, we carried out a basic study to secure flatness standards

  • Optically pumped THz emission has been observed in a wide range of semiconductors, and this process is an important practical source of pulsed THz radiation for time-domain THz spectroscopy and THz imaging. We show that InAs quantum dots on GaAs can be used to significantly enhance THz emission compared with a bare GaAs surface.
