  • Pseudomonas fluorescens SM11 is a naphthalene-degrading strain whose dissimilatory genes are cho-mosomally encoded. We have cloned the 2.9 kb Sal I fragment harboring genes for the naphthalene-degrading upper pathway. The nucleotide sequences were determined to be nahQ, napA, and partial regions of nahE genes. The nahQ encods a protein of 188 amino acid residues with a deduced molec-ular wight of 20.8kDa. The high homology with other proteins suggests that NAhQ may be an active and useful protein whtich gives as selective advantage to naphthalene degradatin. Transposase(TnpA)encodes a polypetide chain with a molecular mass of 41.8kDa consisting of 376 amino acid residues. The deduced anino acid sequence of tnpA revealed 96% idenitity with putative transposase of P. stutzeri OX1,. It was assumed that transposase plays an important role in the evloution of the catabloic-path way in the regulation of nah expression.

  • The paper demonstrates how to deal with the Near-field Acoustic Holography method (NAH) for reducing noise source which is generated in air-conditioning compressor. Sound radiation was measured for both normal compressor and fault compressor. The acoustic noise holograms are predicted by measuring at discrete multiple points around the two compressors and are thereafter reconstructed on the surface of the compressors. 1344 measuring points are used by two microphones in which one is scanning microphone and the other is reference microphone. NAH is a good tool for the visualization of Sound so we can show the source of sound graphically. In this paper, the NAH method found the exact noise source position on the surface of the compressor and the noise-related sub part in the compressor. We found the NAH and is very useful as a noise reduction tool for home-appliance device.

  • Four strains of Pseudomonas putida (NAH), Pseudomonas sp.(TOL), Achromobacter xylosoxidans, and Alcaligenes sp. were compared with their degradative capability of aromatic compounds. All of the bacterial strains were utilized catechol as a sole carbon source for growth, but signigicantly different in degradative properties for 5 other aromatic compounds. Catechol 2, 3-dioxygenase gene from P. putida (NAH) has been cloned and expressed in E. coli. The DNA clone designated pCNU101 contains NAH-derived 6 Kb insert and its physical map was characterized. A subclone (pCNU106) for the catechol dioxygenase gene in pCNU101 contained 2.0kb-DNA insery fragmented by HpaI and ClaI.

  • The complete nucleotide sequence of the nahC gene from Pseudomonas fluorescens, the structural gene for 1,2-dihydroxynaphthalene (1,2-DHN) dioxygenase, was determined. The 1,2-DHN dioxygenase is an extradiol ring-cleavage enzyme that cleaves the first ring of 1,2-dihydroxynaphthalene. The amino acid sequence of the dioxygenase deduced from the nucleotide sequence suggested that the holoenzyme consists of eight identical subunits with a molecular weight of approximately 34,200. The amino acid sequence of 1,2-DHN dioxygenase showed more than $90\%$ homology with those of the dioxygenases of other Pseudomonas strains. However, sequence similarity with those of the Sphingomonas species was less than $60\%$. The nahC gene of P. fluorescens was moderately expressed in E. coli NM522, as determined by enzymatic activity.

  • When there are low signal to noise relationships or low coherences between measured pressure and a reference sensor, a pressure field measured and estimated by NAH (Nearfield Acoustic Holography) becomes noisy on the hologram and source planes. This paper proposes a method to obtain the high coherent de-noised pressure signals from low coherent noisy ones by combining a wavelet algorithm with NAH. The proposed method obtains the de-noised field from acoustic fields on a noise source plane reconstructed through backward propagation of NAH. Thus this method does not need high coherent pressure signals on the hologram surface while the conventional nearfield acoustic holography requires high-coherent signals. The proposed method was verified by numerical simulation using noisy signals, composed of original signals and imposed noises distributed on the hologram surface.

  • This paper deals with the ESM(equivalent source method) with the continuation of acoustic near-field for NAH(near-field acoustic holography) to overcome the finite measurement aperture effect and reconstruct the normal velocity on an arbitrarily shaped structure surface. The continuation method is an extension of the measured sound field into a region outside and is based on the Green's function relating acoustic quantities on the two conformal surfaces. This algorithm is not limited to planar surfaces and can be applied to arbitrarily shaped surfaces. The ESM is an alternative approach of BEM-based NAH for the reconstruction on a general structure. In ESM the acoustic field is represented by a set of point sources located over a surface that is close to the structure surface. The simulation results of this study shows that the reconstruction error of particle velocity on the source surface is 11% and 16% for planar and cylindrical sources separately.

  • The NAH based on the inverse BEM is used to reconstruct the source field, which is advantageous in dealing with the irregular source. In the implementation of this technique, a large number of pressure measurements is required because an over-determined pressure data set is required. These conditions accordingly cause the increase of measurement time and associated effort along with the error due to mal-positioning. The purpose of this study is to reduce such inconveniences: Instead of increasing the number of field pressure data, the number of transfer paths between the source and the receiver is increased by placing rigid scattering body in-between the source and receiver. For validating the usefulness and effectiveness of the method, the numerical analyses of interior problem are demonstrated. As a result, it is thought that the proposed method enables the measurement at smaller number of sensor positions and the monitoring of surface vibration with less experimental effects than before.

  • The theory of NAH is based on the assumption of reflection free. However, it is not always possible to meet this condition in many practical cases. Thus, a decomposition of direct and reflected fields is needed to apply NAH to reflective condition for noise problems. In addition, the decomposition of direct and reflected field can give acoustic characteristics of reflecting surfaces. This paper presents that in this condition the decomposition can also be successfully done by MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification) power method and beamforming method, and that numerical simulation and real experiments verify its performance.

  • This paper explores the use of BEM based NAH to reconstruct the surface vibration of a plate in a rectangular finite cavity, in which the distances between sensors and the nearest points on the source surface are not equal. In such circumstances, different degree of information on propagating and non-propagating wave components will be detected by sensors at different positions, as well as the influence of measurement noise will vary significantly from the nearest points of measurement to the farthest ones. On the other hand, the condition number of the vibro-acoustic transfer function matrix relating normal surface velocities and field pressures will becomes high, numerically indicating an increase of linear dependency between rows of transfer function matrix. The combination of poor measurement and high condition number will result inaccurate reconstruction. Therefore, one approach to be investigated in this work is to select the measurement positions in such ways that reduce measurement redundancy, as it indicated by the condition number. The improvement is found to be significant in the numerical simulations utilizing two different criterions, spanning from over-determined to under-determined cases, and in the validation experiment.
