  • 교통 약자 승객의 편의성 증대, 도심의 매연 감소 및 온실가스 저감 등 대중 교통 선진화를 위해 친환경 초저상 전기버스의 개발이 필요하다. 초저상 전기버스는 초저상 액슬 일체형 휠모터 구동시스템을 탑재한 형태로 구현이 가능하며, 초저상 액슬 일체형 휠모터 구동시스템은 구동 모터를 액슬 허브에 일체화 시킴으로써 기존 구동시스템 대비 무게 및 사이즈가 대폭 줄어들고, 동력 전달 매커니즘을 획기적으로 개선하여 효율 향상 및 차량 연비 개선이 가능하다. 특히 바퀴 중심과 액슬 출력 중심에 단차를 둠으로써 차량의 전방 바닥 뿐만 아니라 후방바닥을 평평하게 유지할 수 있어 실내 공간이 획기적으로 개선되어 교통 약자를 포함한 승객의 편의성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 또한, 액슬 일체형 휠모터 구동시스템은 각 휠의 분산 구동이 가능하므로 동특성 및 구동제어성이 뛰어나고, ESP(Electronic Stability Program), VDC(Vehicle Dynamic Control) 등과 연계하여 통합적인 지능형 시스템을 구현할 수 있다. 액슬 일체형 휠모터 구동시스템은 휠모터와 감속기 및 휠모터제어기 등으로 구성되며, 본 논문에서는 초저상 액슬 일체형 구동시스템용 120kW급 휠모터 및 휠모터제어기의 개발 및 다이나모 환경에서 T-N 특성 및 최대 출력 시험, 효율 시험을 통해 전기버스 등 대형 차량(Heavy Duty Vehicle)에 적용 가능한 전기동력시스템의 성능을 확인하였다.

  • We have developed the Scan-backlight Stereoscopic LCD that is a kind of field-sequential -Stereoscopic LCD combining the Dual-Directional-Backlight and the fast-response OCB panel. The Dual-Directional-Backlight using a double-sided prism sheet can change the direction of light by switching the LED light sources. The OCB panel using Feed-Forward Drive can realize frame rate of 120 Hz. As a result, the Scan-backlight Stereoscopic display works at its original resolving power, and produces flicker-free stereoscopic images. This auto stereoscopic display can resolved the problems of the double images and the pseudoscopic images in case of watching at oblique angles.

A New 12-Pulse Diode Rectifier System With Low kVA Components For Clean Power Utility Interface

  • This paper proposes a 12­pulse diode rectifier system with low kVA components suitable for powering switch mode power supplies or ac/dc converter applications. The proposed 12-pulse system employs a polyphase transformer, a zero sequence blocking transformer (ZSBT) in the dc link, and an interphase transformer. Results produce near equal leakage inductance in series with each diode rectifier bridge ensuring equal current sharing and performance improvements, The utility input currents and the voltage across the ZSBT are analyzed the kVA rating of each component in the proposed system is computed. The 5th , 7th , 17th and 19th harmonics are eliminated in the input line currents resulting in clean input power. The dc link voltage magnitude generated by the proposed rectifier system is nearly identical to a conventional to a conventional 6-pulse system. The proposed system is suitable to retrofit applications as well as in new PWM drive systems. Simulation and experimental results from a 208V , 10kVA system are shown.

  • The induction motor is widely used in the power equipments of the ship and the various industrial drive applications because it is robust and relatively simple and cheap to manufacture, but it has a disadvantage that the speed of induction motor is not controlled in wide range such as d.c motor. In this paper, the characteristics relating to the Kramer system that the speed of three phase wound type induction motor is controlled by changing the exciting e.m.f. of the secondary circuit is described. In order to analyze the characteristics, a new simplified and approximated T-type equivalent circuit from the Kramer circuit with three phase graetz connection and d.c machine is proposed. The stator current, motor torque and mechanical output power are computed by the current, torque and power equations derived by its equivalent circuit. Through the experiments, the $I_f-N$, torque-slip and current-slip characteristic curves of the tested motor are obtained and the various needed constants are determined. The numerical values obtained from the above method are compared with experimental values under the same conditions. As a result of the above investigation, it is found that the induction motor speed by the Kramer system is controlled by 28 per cent under the rated speed by changing the field current of d.c motor and the values computed by the current and torque equations derived by the simplified and approximated T-type equivalent circuit generally come to approach the experimental values.

  • In a small centrifugal compressor system, a high-speed motor needs to be developed to drive impellers directly. Heat is generated by both electrical heating due to copper coil resistance and aerodynamic heating in the gap between the rotor and stator in a high-speed motor. Removal of the heat is essential to the design of such motors since most magnetic materials are brittle and can be easily fractured by the heat. In the present study the cooling flow fields and temperature distributions are analyzed by using computational fluid dynamics simulation for a high-speed motor which has air cooling system as well as water cooling system. In the analysis, a conjugate heat transfer problem is solved by considering both convective heat transfer in the cooling system and conduction heat transfer in solid parts. Based on design drawings of a motor, air cooling system and water cooling system are analyzed to obtain temperature field and thus to check the coiling system performance. Also the cooling performance are studied for various flow rates of cooling air and water at the inlets.

  • We put the pseudo-random number generator into catagories like MiCG, MuCG, URG, ICG, EICG, and test uniformity and independency by 10,000 times through n empirical trial after selecting this random number generator. Here, from a fraction of data(20, 40, 60, 80, 100) with a significance level of 0.1, 0.05 and 0.01, we drive cumulative frequency with K-S, $X^{2}$, poker, run, autocorrelation test. As a result from the uniformity and independency among five random number generators based on all these data, all random number generator except EICG passed uniformity and independency test, and the URG turn out to be excellent in periodicity.

  • 낸드 플래시 메모리를 이용한 SSD(Solid-State Disk)는 빠른 속도와 저전력, 휴대성, 내구성 등의 특성을 가져 전통적인 저장 장치인 하드 디스크(HDD:Hard Disk Drive)를 대체할 차세대 저장 장치로 주목받고 있다. 그러나 저장 장치 성능 측정 도구는 기존의 하드 디스크의 특성을 기반으로 한 것들이 대부분으로 이를 통해 SSD의 성능을 측정하기엔 적합하지 않다. 특히 SSD는 하드 디스크에 비해 단위 공간 당비용이 수십 배 가량 높아 저장 공간의 효율적인 관리를 위해 컨트롤러(Controller)가 데이터 압축 기법을 사용하기도 하는데 이 압축 기법을 사용하는 컨트롤러에 따라 SSD는 다른 성능을 보인다. 또, 여러 가지 명령들이 한꺼번에 존재할 때 컨트롤러에 따라 이를 적절히 효율적으로 처리해주는 기능을 가지고 있는데 이 역시 SSD의 성능에 차이를 가져온다. 그러나 기존 저장 장치 성능 측정 도구는 압축 기법 유무를 판별할 수 있으면서 여러 명령들이 한꺼번에 존재할 때 SSD 성능의 차이를 파악할 수 있는 통합된 성능 측정 도구는 없다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 패턴에 따라 SSD의 특성을 측정할 수 있는 도구인 uFlip 성능 측정 도구를 기반으로, 압축 기법의 사용 유무를 판별할 수 있는 기능과 명령 큐 깊이(Command Queue Depth)에 따라 성능의 차이를 판별할 수 있는 기능을 추가하였고, uFlip 기반 수정된 성능 측정 도구로 몇 가지 상용 SSD의 성능을 평가하여 비교함으로써 추가된 기능들의 유무에 따라 SSD별로 다른 성능을 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Identification of Open-Switch and Short-Switch Failure of Multilevel Inverters through DWT and ANN Approach using LabVIEW

  • In recent times, multilevel inverters are given high priority in many large industrial drive applications. However, the reliability of multilevel inverters are mainly affected by the failure of power electronic switches. In this paper, open-switch and short-switch failure of multilevel inverters and its identification using a high performance diagnostic system is discussed. Experimental and simulation studies were carried out on five level cascaded H-Bridge multilevel inverter and its output voltage waveforms were analyzed at different switch fault cases and at different modulation index values. Salient frequency domain features of the output voltage signal were extracted using the discrete wavelet transform multi resolution signal decomposition technique. Real time application of the proposed fault diagnostic system was implemented through the LabVIEW software. Artificial neural network was trained offline using the Matlab software and the resultant network parameters were transferred to LabVIEW real time system. In the proposed system, it is possible to precisely identify the individual faulty switch (may be due to open-switch (or) short-switch failure) of multilevel inverters.

  • Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques are increasingly employed for PWM inverter fed induction motor drive. Among various popular PWM methods used, Selective Harmonic Elimination PWM (SHEPWM) has been widely accepted for its better harmonic elimination capability. In addition, using SHEPWM, it is also possible to maintain better voltage regulation. Hence, in this paper, an attempt has been made to apply Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (BFA) for solving selective harmonic elimination problem. The problem of voltage harmonic elimination together with output voltage regulation is drafted as an optimization task and the solution is sought through proposed method. For performance comparison of BFA, the results obtained are compared with other techniques such as derivative based Newton-Raphson method, and Genetic Algorithm. From the comparison, it can be observed that BFA based approach yields better results. Further, it provides superior convergence, reduced computational burden, and guaranteed global optima. The simulation results are validated through experimental findings.
