  • The neutron transmutation doping of silicon (NTD), as a method to produce a high quality semiconductor, utilizes the transmutation of a silicon element into phosphorus by neutron absorption in a silicon single crystal. In this paper, we present the design of a neutron screen for a 6' Si ingot irradiation in the NTD2 hole of HANARO. The goal of the design is to achieve an even flat axial distribution of the resistivity, or $Si^{30}(n,{\gamma})Si^{31}$ reaction rate, in the irradiated Si ingot. We used the MCNP4C code to simulate the neutron screen and to calculate the reaction rate distribution in the Si ingot. The fluctuations in the axial distribution were estimated to be within ${\pm}2.0%$ from the average for the final neutron screen design; thus, they satisfy the customers' requirement for uniform irradiation. On the other hand, we determined the optimal insertion depths of the Si ingots by varying the critical control rod position, which greatly affects the axial flux distribution.

  • Anti-reflection thin films are fabricated on glass substrates using the screen printing method. Tetra ethyl silicate(TEOS) and methyl tri methoxy silane(MTMS) are used as starting materials and buthyl carbitol acetate(BCA) and buthyl cellusolve(BC) are mixed to improve the viscosity of the solution. Anti-reflection thin films are fabricated according to the number of the screen mesh and the characteristics improve as the mesh size increases. The transmittance and reflectance of the coated thin film using 325 mesh are about 94 % and 0.43 % in the visible wavelength. The thickness and refractive index of the AR thin film are 107 nm and n = 1.26, respectively.

  • Recently various handheld multimedia devices are spreading, and users want to share media contents across their own multiple devices. Conventional synchronization techniques for N-screen services can continuously play contents by switching from an initial device to a new device. In this case, even if a new device plays continuously contents, the initial device stops playing them. In this paper, we propose a synchronization technique in which multiple devices can share and continuously play same contents simultaneously by gathering and passing URI and current play-time of the contents. The proposed synchronization technique is built on UPnP and DLNA, and tested by implementing a wireless home media network system.

  • VOD Service, which has established a solid foothold as a profit model of digital broadcasting companies, is emerging as a key application of the N-screen technologies and services. In the circumstance, broadcasting companies are trying to promoting their VOD services by providing mobile services for improving the VOD service usability. The paper introduces a VOD mobile app (of a domestic digital cable broadcasting), which includes the functions of promoting the VOD programs and events printed on a VOD guide book, directly transmitting the information (e.g., book-marking and remote-control signals) to a set-top box, and watching the video contents stored in the mobile device on TV.

  • N type calcium channels (CaV2.2) play a key role in the gating of transmitter release at presynaptic nerve terminals. These channels are generally regarded as parts of a multimolecular complex that can modulate their open probability and ensure their location near the vesicle docking and fusion sites. However, the proteins that comprise this component remain poorly characterized. We have carried out the first open screen of presynaptic CaV2.2 complex members by an antibody-mediated capture of the channel from purified rat brain synaptosome lysate followed by mass spectroscopy. 589 unique peptides resulted in a high confidence match of 104 total proteins and 40 synaptosome proteome proteins. This screen identified several known CaV2.2 interacting proteins including syntaxin 1, VAMP, protein phosphatase 2A, $G_{o\alpha}$, G$\beta$ and spectrin and also a number of novel proteins, including clathrin, adaptin, dynamin, dynein, NSF and actin. The unexpected proteins were classified within a number of functional classes that include exocytosis, endocytosis, cytoplasmic matrix, modulators, chaperones, and cell-signaling molecules and this list was contrasted to previous reports that catalogue the synaptosome proteome. The failure to detect any postsynaptic density proteins suggests that the channel itself does not exhibit stable trans-synaptic attachments. Our results suggest that the channel is anchored to a cytoplasmic matrix related to the previously described particle web.

  • PMW-PZT thick films of about $30{\mu}m$ thickness were fabricated on Pt/$TiO_2$/$SiN_x$Si substrate by the hybrid method of screen printing and PZT sol application. With the increase of the number of the sol application times, the sintered density and electrical properties of PMW-PZT thick films were evidently increased. For the PMW-PZT thick film with PZT sol application of 10-times, the dielectric constant ($\varepsilon_r$) was 745 at the frequency of 100 KHz and thepiezoelectric coefficient ($d_33$) was 155 pC/N at the applied pressure of 1 atm.

  • A novel concept of ICT based service, which is called N-device service, is proposed and implemented in the form of N-device smart education services. The N-device services are different from the existing N-screen services in terms of the number of devices a user is using for a specific service at the same time. A N-device service consists of several smart devices which are different in size, software and hardware platform, mobility, manufacturer and the like by fully utilizing the characteristic of each device. The major and unique features of N-device services are analyzed and depicted in a strict way. Those are shared role for each device, service by configurable device, one sensor multiple use, real-time data sharing, role shifting and new market creation. It is turned out that the N-device service is more human centric compared with existing ICT based services and can give richer digital experience to users because non-existent services become possible with the new concept. However, there exist several barriers to be implemented and commercialized in the real world. Those include high development cost and time, small market and different application platforms of devices. These barriers can be overcome by technical advances and cooperation between relevant parties. The smart education is very prominent area, in which the novel concept can be applied with high priority because Korean government announced its plan to boost up new educational services with big budget and these are acceptable by enthusiastic Korean parents and students. That's why the N-device service is implemented in the education area, which is called as "livessam(live teacher)," with four smart devices, IPTV, tablet PC, PC and smart phone. By providing both detailed service scenario and techniques, we shows that the novel education service is technically feasible and acceptable by teachers and students.

  • The mobile devices and cloud computing technology introduced new content services such as N-Screen service. The DRM techniques have been developed to support interoperability and multi-platform for new environment of content service. Nevertheless, it is still inconvenient for the consumers to purchase a new DRM-supported device or to migrate some purchased contents into new device due to the change of the subscription of service. Therefore, in this paper, cloud-based DRM model which is referred as DRMaaS (DRM-as-a-Service) model, is proposed to allow the consumer to freely use and move some DRM-protected contents in various smart devices regardless of subscription of service.
