  • In this paper we investigate the existence of nontrivial solutions for the following fractional boundary value problem (FBVP) $$\{_tD_T^{\alpha}(_0D_t^{\alpha}u(t))={\nabla}W(t,u(t)),\;t{\in}[0,T],\\u(0)=u(T)=0,$$ where ${\alpha}{\in}(1/2,1)$, $u{\in}{\mathbb{R}}^n$, $W{\in}C^1([0,T]{\times}{\mathbb{R}}^n,{\mathbb{R}})$ and ${\nabla}W(t,u)$ is the gradient of W(t, u) at u. The novelty of this paper is that, when the nonlinearity W(t, u) involves a combination of superquadratic and subquadratic terms, under some suitable assumptions we show that (FBVP) possesses at least two nontrivial solutions. Recent results in the literature are generalized and significantly improved.

  • Stress behavior was studied to investigate the internal behaviors of boron, carbon, and nitrogen in the 1000${\AA}$-thick tungsten boron carbon nitride (W-B-C-N) thin films. The impurities in the W-B-C-N thin films provide stuffing effects that were very effective for preventing the interdiffusion between interconnection metal and silicon substrate during the subsequent high temperature annealing process. The resistivity of W-B-C-N thin film decreases as an annealing temperature increase. The W-B-C-N thin films have compressive stress, and the stress value decreased up to $4.11\times10^{10}dyne/cm^2$ as an $N_2$ flow rate increases up to 3 sccm.

  • Critical nitrogen concentration (Nc), which is defined as the minimum % N in shoots required to maintain the maximum growth rate of top dry weight (W) at any time, was determined for rice plant. Using two rice varietal groups, japonica varieties and an indica $\times$ japonica "Dasanbyeo", 18 data points fulfilling the statistical criteria for determining Nc were obtained through eight N-fertilization experiments over two years at Suwon (37$^{\circ}$16'N), Korea. Nc dilution curve for each variety was obtained by fitting the Nc-W relationship to power function. However, The critical nitrogen curves for the two variety groups were not different statistically. Thus, a Nc dilution curve was fitted for the Nc data points pooled over the two variety groups and proposed in rice as: Nc=4.08, where W<1.73 t h $a^{-1}$ , Nc=5.197 $W^{0.425}$3/ ($R^2$=0.964), where 1.73 t h $a^{-1}$ <W<12 t h $a^{-l}$. The Nc for W<1.73 t h $a^{-l}$ were estimated as a constant value of 4.08%, the mean value of the maximum N concentration for N-limiting condition and the minimum N concentration for N non-limiting condition. The model for Nc is applicable to diagnosing the nitrogen nutrition status during the rice growth period from emergence to heading stage. The Nc curve well discriminated the 144 data points between the N limiting and the N non-limiting groups regardless of varieties, cultural methods, and years.-limiting groups regardless of varieties, cultural methods, and years.

  • PHC-W retaining wall method is one of the economical retaining wall methods. PHC-W pile used in PHC-W retaining wall method has special shape with flat surfaces so that the PHW-C retaining wall, with overlapped piles, shows outstanding vertical control and impermeability. In order to evaluate two types of retaining walls, numerical analysis were performed. The selection of cases depended on N values of the ground and ground properties, and two types of PHC-W retaining walls (defined as type A and B) were constructed. For a case that consists of inorganic clay and sand with less than 30 of N value, the maximum excavation depths for type A and B were respectively 10.5 m and 11.0 m. At the other case of which N value is above 30, the depths were 17.0 m and 19.5 m. From the results, it was found that maximum excavation depth, horizontal displacement, and safety factor for flexural strength of the wall were influenced by ground properties.

  • Lumazine protein is a member of the riboflavin synthase superfamily and the intense fluorescence is caused by non-covalently bound to 6,7-dimethyl 8-ribityllumazine. To figure out the binding modes and the structure of the N-terminal domain of lumazine protein, the wild type of protein extending to amino acid 118 (N-LumP 118 Wt) and mutants of N-LumP 118 V41W, S48W, T50W, D64W, and A66W from Photobacterium leiognathi were purified. The biochemical properties of the wild type and mutants of N-LumP 118 proteins were analyzed by absorbance and fluorescence spectroscope. The peak of absorbance and fluorescence of lumazine ligand were shifted to longer wavelength on binding to N-LumPs. The observed absorbance value at 410 nm of lumazine bound to N-LumP 118 proteins indicate that one mole of N-LumP 118 proteins bind to one mole of ligand of lumazine. Fluorescence analysis show that the maximum peak of fluorescence of N-LumP S48W was shifted to the longest wavelength by binding with 6,7-dimethyl 8-ribityllumazine and was shown to the greatest quench effect by acrylamide among all tryptophan mutants.

  • This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of ITO which are caused by variation of plasma condition to fabricate the OLED of high efficiency. We treated $N_2$ gas and $O_2$ gas plasma on the surface of the ITO by changing their RF plasma power into 100 W, 200 W, 400 W and by changing their 9as pressure into 12 mTorr, 120 mTorr. The work function of ITO that plasma treatment was done by using $N_2$ gas had value of $4.88{\sim}5.07\;eV$, and that by using $O_2$ gas, $4.85{\sim}4.97 eV$. The characteristics of the ITO were most efficient in the $N_2$ gas plasma with the RF power of 200W and gas pressure of 120 mTorr. The rms roughness of ITO surface is the value from AFM image. In this case, ITO obtained $25.2\;{\AA}$ and $30.5\;{\AA}$ in the $N_2$ and $O_2$ gas plasma respectively when it had the RF power of 200 W. But ITO that didn't have plasma treatment was $44.5{\AA}$. The variation of ITO transmittance was almost not discovered by the change of $N_2$ gas and $O_2$ gas pressure.

  • To investigate concentration and sources of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs in sediments, total 52 sediment samples were measured at 17 sites in Geum River. As a result of analysis, total concentrations of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs were ranged from not detected (N.D.)~193.47 pg/g-d.w. (mean value: 84.52 pg/g-d.w) and 0.34~359.19 pg/g-d.w (mean value: 114.65 pg/g-d.w.) respectively. Also, toxic equivalent (TEQ) concentration of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs were ranged from N.D.~5.12 (mean value: 0.88) pg I-TEQ/g-d.w and N.D.~0.58 (mean value: 0.09) $WHO_{2005}$-TEQ pg/g-d.w. respectively. The upstream indicate the highest concentration and as it goes to the downstream, it has tendency to decrease. Higher chlorinated compounds were dominant in most of site which detected PCDD/Fs. Occurrence of Co-PCBs isomer patterns appear similar to each sampling site was found. The isomer patterns showed similar between sediment and PCB products. The principal component analysis also showed that the samples contained the characteristics of PCBs products.

  • W/n-GaN Schottky diodes were irradiated with $^{60}Co\;{\gamma}-rays$ to doses up to 315Mrad. The barrier height obtained from current-voltage (I-V) measurements showed minimal change from its estimated initial value of ${\sim}0.4eV$ over this dose range, though both forward and reverse I-V characteristics show evidence of defect center introduction at doses as low as 150 Mrad. Post irradiation annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ increased the reverse leakage current, suggesting migration and complexing of defects. The W/GaN interface is stable to high dose of ${\gamma}-rays$, but Au/Ti overlayers employed for reducing contact sheet resistance suffer from adhesion problems at the highest doses.
