  • In this study, the toughness was evaluated by using the instrumented Charpy impact testing procedures for A15083-O aluminum alloy used in the LNG carrying and storing tank. The specimens were GMAW welded with four different mixing shield gas ratios (Ar100%+He0%, Ar67%+He33%, Ar50%+He50%, and Ar33%+He67%), and tested at four different temperatures(+25, -30, -85, and $-196^{\circ}C$) in order to investigate the influence of the mixing shield gas ratio and the low temperature. The specimens were divided into base metal, weld metal, fusion line, and HAZ specimen according to the worked notch position. From experiment, the maximum load increased a little up to -$85^{\circ}C$ , and the maximum load and maximum displacement were shown the highest and the lowest at -$196^{\circ}C$ than the other test temperatures. The absorption energy of weld metal notched specimens was not nearly depends on test temperature and mixing shield gas ratio because the casting structure was formed in weld metal zone. In the other hand, the other specimens were shown that the lower temperature, the higher absorption energy slightly up to $-85^{\circ}C$ but the energy was decreased so mush at $-196^{\circ}C$.

  • The operating temperature has been increased to improve the efficiency of gas turbine. The most advanced Gas turbine is operated at above $1,500^{\circ}C$. Improvement in material and cooling method permit hot gas path component to run at increased temperature. But, the repair of blades which are developed with advanced manufacture technique is difficult to use normal welding. Most of gas turbine blades are made of precipitation harden nickel base superalloy, which is very hard to weld. Therefore, the employment of welding filler on blade is solid solution nickel base superalloy(Hastelloy X, Inconel 617). In this study, Tensile test in high temperature was conducted on welded GTD111DS with GTD111 to evaluate effect of variation of pre, post treatment. The result of this study showed that the specimen was treated with optimum pre and post treatment(preweld HT($1200^{\circ}C$), Post treatment($1100^{\circ}C$ HIP, $1200^{\circ}C$ + $1100^{\circ}C$ + $800^{\circ}C$ HT) is mush superior.

  • Semisolid process is possible in any material system possessing a freezing range where the microstructure should consist of the nondendritic globular solid phase separated and enclosed by the liquid phase, referred to as semisolid slurry. There are two primary semisolid processing routes, thixocasting and rheocasting. Especially, rheocasting process has become a new focus in the field of semisolid process because of its many advantages such as no special billet required and possibility of in-house scrap recycling, compared with the thixocasting process. In-Ladle direct thermal control (DTC) rheocasting has been developed, based on the fact that there is slurry and mush transition in every molten metal and the transition, which normally occurs in the range of liquid traction of 0.1 to 0.6, could be controlled by controlling solid shape and relative solid-liquid interfacial energy. In this study, A356 Al alloy was investigated to verify In-Ladle DTC rheocasting for obtaining semisolid slurry. Modeling of heat transfer was carried out to investigate the effect of pouring temperature and ladle material, geometry and temperature and the simulation results were compared with the actual experiments.

  • The shrinkages of injection molded parts are different in molding operational conditions and mold design. It also differs from resins. The shrinkages of injection molded parts fur PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), PC (polycarbonate), and glass reinforced PBT and PC have been studied for various operational conditions of injection molding. The part shrinkage of crystalline polymer, PBT was higher than that of amorphous polymer, PC by about two times. The part shrinkages of both polymers decreased as glass fiber content increases. Higher injection temperature and lower injection pressure resulted in a higher shrinkage in both PBT and PC resins. As mold temperature increases the part shrinkage of PC decreased. However, the part shrinkage of PBT increased as mold temperature increases. The part shrinkages of PBT and PC resins decreased as gate size increases since the pressure delivery is mush easier for a larger gate size. The part shrinkage of flow direction was less than that of the perpendicular direction to the flow for both pure and glass fiber reinforced resins. The part shrinkage at the position close to the gate was less than that of the position far from the gate.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper analyzes the relationship between the Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) and Corporate Value to estimate whether the characteristics of Firm can change this relationship. Design/methodology/approach - This paper utilizes the total 776 firms' data over the period 2014-2018, and develops a new ESG index which was estimated by PCA. Findings - First, the estimated ESG index implies that Large company has the highest value of CSR, while Medium sized and Small company have the relatively low one. And comparing to the case of 2014, the trend of ESG index in Large company does not decrease in 2018. Second, there is a clear and significant non linear relationship between CSR and corporate value, it implies that the U-shaped exists in the Korean Firms. Such a tendency is mush stronger in the Large company. Third, the new ESG index indicates that it takes more time to increase Firm value in the Medium sized and Small company while there is a high possibility of increasing value in Large company from the little gab between the threshold points and mean value of ESG. Research implications or Originality - The non linear tendency between the Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Value is strongly affected by Firm size and the relative high quintile of ESG, but it is less affected by Firm history.

  • This experiment was performed to select the most suitable species of oyster mushroom for cultivation during summer season in Korea. The selection was made based upon mycelial growth on the ricestraw substrates, fruiting under hot weather conditions during the summer season in Korea and potential high productivity using six cultures from South-east Asia. The newly selected strain of Pleurotus sajor-caju (ASI 2070) grew well on the rice straw substrates and produced the higher yields of sporophores than other cultures tested. The primordia of the mushroom were formed between 10 to $35^{\circ}C$. The optimal temperature for fruiting ranged from 20 to $25^{\circ}C$.

  • From 1986 to 1990, the fifty-three sites (shiros) of the five places known as an areas of the pine-mushroom production in Kyoung Sang Do were visited, investigating the biology or ecology of pine-mushrooms. Physical or ecological characteristics of the areas producing pine-mushrooms was similar to those reported in Japan, but not similar to in this regardings; The ages of pine trees, the understory plant flora of the places producing the pine-mushrooms and the soil types. The areas of pine-mushroom productions are divided to two typical areas, the inland and coastal areas. Ecological differences between two areas were found, The understory plant flora and different soil types. Three kinds of soil were, by the naked eyes, were found from our observations of Kyoung Sang Do, but not based on soil analysis. The pine-mushrooms observed in Kyoung Sang Do were related to the root of the pine trees, but not confirmed to be ectomycorrhizally related to the pine trees. The mycelia isolated form the different places were compared with the degradation of phenolic compounds and culture methods, but were not clearly distinguished. The productions of pine-mushroom and several methods for the pine mushroom were suggested under four years' observations.

  • It is estimated that the loss of Korean agricultural and fishery products during the storage period is usually more than 20%, and it is difficult to increase agricultural products by a 10% annual rate directly. Therefore, development of food preservation techniques has now become a most important atternative for the indirect increase of such products and for its senitary distribution. Changes eating habits and improved living conditions have accelerated the demand for convenience food production and for this reason it is essential that raw materials at stable, resonable prices and hygienic quality be available the year round. At the end of 1980, the Korean government conceded th economical feasibility of the storage of foods by irradiation and a procedure for preserving food by irradiation on a batch scale was successfully developed by KAERI in 1982. Based on the research results accomplished by the KAERI and on the recommendation on wholesomeness of irradiated food by Joint Committee of FAO/IAEA/WHO in 1980, the approval of wholesomeness of irradiated food was declared by presidential decree in June 1985 and the procedure of permission for individual items is in progress. Korean private firms (Ryung Young Co.) which was technically assisted by KAERI for five years have taken mush interest in the establishment of such facilities in Korea, therefore Ryung Young Co. had proposed for the construction of 500 Kci Co-60 irradiator to the Ministry of Science and Technology in July 1984. The permission of construction has approved by government in May 1985. The commercial irradiator will be constructed as one of the most modernized facilities until May 1987 and that facilities will contribute the propagation of commercial storage of foods and its hygienic quality.

  • This paper proposes a new algorithm for comparing amplitude between multiple digital input signals and its digital logic architecture. After simultaneously comparing multiple inputs, the proposed algorithm can provide the information of the largest (or smallest) value among them by using a simple digital logic function. The drawback of the method is to increase hardware resource. To overcome this we propose a reuse method of the overlapped logic operation. The proposed method focuses on enhancing the operational clock frequency, in other words decreasing combinational delay time. After implementing the comparing method with HDL (hardware description language), we experiment on it with environment of Cyclone III EP3C40F324A7 FPGA of Altera Inc. In case of 4 input signals, it can increase the operational speed as mush as 1.66 times with 1.20 times the hardware resource. In case of 8, it can also have 2.29 times the clock frequency and 2.15 times the hardware resource.
