Multicast Tree Construction Scheme considering QoS on the Application Layer Multicast based on RMCP (RMCP기반의 응용 계층 멀티캐스트에서 QoS를 고려한 멀티캐스트 트리 구성 기법)

  • RMCP is an application layer multicast protocol and was established as a standard by ITU-T Also, RMCP includes a scheme which can statically construct a multicast tree. In this paper, we propose a QoS based tree construction scheme which can dynamically construct a multicast tree. And this scheme shows more superior performance than the static tree scheme of RMCP in terms of start-up delay and user requirement QoS. This scheme consists of a best-fit method using multiple sub-net groups which are satisfied a user requirement QoS and a first-fit method using one sub-net group which has maximum transmission bandwidth. In simulation result, two proposed methods are superior to the existing static tree scheme.

Performance of Capability Aware Spanning Tree Algorithm for Bridged Networks (브리지 망에서 지원능력을 고려한 스패닝 트리 생성 알고리듬의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we suggest a new capability aware spanning tree(CAST) algorithm for Ethernet bridged network which consists of both legacy Ethernet bridges and synchronous Ethernet ones. The legacy spanning tree algorithm specified in IEEE 802.1D standard select root bridge and construct tree based on each bridge's identifier without consideration of each bridge's capability. Thus we note that if the legacy STP may assign a synchronous bridge as a root bridge, the bridge may become a bottleneck for asynchronous trafficbecause of bandwidth limitation for asynchronous traffic. In this paper, the CAST algorithm constructsmultiple spanning tree by using of bridge capability and makes different transmission path for each traffics, can removes this kind of defect. From the simulation results, we can see that the proposed CAST algorithm has better end-to-end delay performance than legacy spanning tree algorithm in high traffic load and multiple hops environment.

Performance Analysis of MC-DS-CDMA System Using a Interference Suppression Method in a Multipath Fading Channel (다중 경로 페이딩 채널 환경에서 다중반송파 DS-CDMA 시스템의 간섭 제거 성능 분석)

  • The performance of existing CDMA-type multiple access data transmission systems is limited by interferences due to adverse mobile communication channel characteristics. Among them, the multi-user interference becomes one of the major performance degradation factors because the signal-to-signal orthogonality can be easily perturbed when numerous user signals are distorted by multipath fading channels and mixed together. In order to enhance the performance of CDMA-type systems by suppressing the multi-user interference, we have adopted chip-based cyclic prefix insertion along with adaptive one-tap DFE equalization into MC-DS-CDMA, which is known for its robustness in the frequency selective multipath fading channel environment. In order to assess the performance of the proposed system, a set of computer simulations is performed in the reverse link in which each user signal undergoes different multipath Rayleigh fading. The results show us a superior performance of our system over other CDMA systems in terms of SNR to BER measurements.

  • As one of the most threatening attacks, DDoS attack makes distributed multiple agents consume some critical resources at the target within the short time, thus the extent and scope of damage is serious. Against the problems, the existing defenses focus on detection, traceback (identification), and filtering. Especially, in the hierarchical networks, the traffic congestion of a specific node could incur the normal traffic congestion of overall lower nodes, and also block the control traffic for notifying the attack detection and identifying the attack agents. In this paper, we introduce a DDoS attack tolerant network structure using a hierarchical overlay for hierarchical networks, which can convey the control traffic for defense such as the notification for attack detection and identification, and detour the normal traffic before getting rid of attack agents. Lastly, we analyze the overhead of overlay construction, the possibility of speedy detection notification, and the extent of normal traffic transmission in the attack case through simulation.

Networked Airborne Relay-Based Positioning Scheme and Performance Enhancement Study Based on TDMA Networks (시분할다중접속 네트워크 기반의 공중 중계 기반 융합 측위 기법 및 성능 향상 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose networked airborne relay-based positioning scheme (N-ARPS) based on time division multiple access (TDMA) networks to improve the performance of relative navigation (RelNav). To integrate the ARPS into TDMA, there are three problems such as slot allocation, selection of airborne relays, and method for signal loss to be solved. A subframe of N-ARPS is designed to assign the slots for broadcast and relay of navigation signals consecutively to minimize the effect of mobility. The selection algorithm determines the optimum set of airborne relays by selecting evenly distributed nodes depending on their distances to the master station. Finally, we uses precise position location information (PPLI) messages, which are received in data transmission period, to estimate a user position when the navigation signals are missing. The simulation results indicate that N-ARPS significantly improves user accuracy over RelNav.

  • The recent automobiles, a number of ECU inside the vehicle has been used. Also, each ECU is connected to different types of networks in accordance with the characteristics. Therefore, efficient data exchange between discrete network has emerged as a very important element. The gateway is responsible for the ability to exchange data between discrete network. In this study, we propose the new gateway algorithm to provide the structure of the mapping table to improve the efficiency of data exchange between discrete network. Also it provides a structure of a new gateway algorithm with a function of adjusting the priority of the data to be transmitted to another network arbitrarily. Moreover, the proposed gateway structure may simultaneously convert the transmission data input from a particular network to multiple networks. Another advantage is easy to change the entire data structure only if we change the table structure in the gateway.

Electromagnetic Wave Shielding Effect of Nano-powder Dispersed Epoxy Resin Composite (나노분말이 분산된 에폭시 섬유수지의 전자파차폐 효과)

  • Electronic products are a major part of evolving industry and human life style; however most of them are known to emit electromagnetic waves that have severe health hazards. Therefore, different materials and fabrication techniques are understudy to control or limit transfer of such waves to human body. In this study, nanocomposite powder is dispersed into epoxy resin and shielding effects such as absorption, reflection, penetration and multiple reflections are investigated. In addition, nano size powder (Ni, $Fe_2O_3$, Fe-85Ni, C-Ni) is fabricated by pulsed wire evaporation method and dispersed manually into epoxy. Characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy and Transmission electron microscopy are used to investigate the phase analysis, size and shape as well as dispersion trend of a nano powder on epoxy matrix. Shielding effect is measured by standard test method to investigate the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of planar materials, ASTM D4935. At lower frequency, sample consisting nano-powder of Fe-85%Wt Ni shows better electromagnetic shielding effect compared to only epoxy, only Ni, $Fe_2O_3$ and C-Ni samples.

Electrophysiological Properties of the Neurons Dissociated from the Nucleus Raphe Magnus in Postnatal Rats (흰쥐의 Nucleus Raphe Magnus로부터 분리된 신경세포의 전기생리학적 성질)

  • Neurons in the nucleus raphe magnus are involved in descending modulation of nociceptive transmission. In this study, we attempted to investigate electrophysiological properties of the NRM neurons dissociated from the postnatal rat medulla. The NRM neurons in the coronal slices of and the dissociated neurons from the postnatal rat medullae were immunohistochemically identified using antibody against serotonin. Relatively small number of neurons were positively stained in both preparations. The positively stained neurons displayed large cell body with double or multiple neurites. Using whole-cell patch clamp configuration ionic currents were recorded from the dissociated NRM-like neurons selected by criteria such as size and shape of cell body and cell population. Two types, high- and low-threshold, of voltage-dependent calcium currents were recorded from the dissociated NRM-like neurons. Some neurons displayed both types of calcium currents, whereas others displayed only high-threshold calcium current. Voltage-dependent potassium currents were also recorded from the dissociated NRM neurons. Some neurons displayed both transient outward and delayed rectifier currents but others showed only delayed rectifier current. These results suggest that there are at least two types of calcium currents and two types of potassium currents in the dissociated NRM neurons.

Effects of PN Sequence Phase on Performance of Variable Spreading Gain (VSG) Multi-media Multi-Rate DS/CDMA (가변 확산이득 구조의 멀티미디어 멀티레이트 DS/CDMA 시스템에서 PN 시퀀스 위상에 따른 성능 영향 분석)

  • in this paper, we analyze the effects of PN sequence phase on the multiple access interference (MAI) of multi-media multi-rate DS/CDMA system with variable spreading gain (VGS) scheme, and furthermore derive the bit error rate (BER) equation for MAI users with different powers and spreading gains. In the sequel, we verify the influences of deterministic sequences on the bit error rate performance. As the results of the bit error rate of a desired user against interfering users with different spreading gains and different transmit powers, it is shown that the domain factor to determine the MAI component could be different according to the data transmission rate of a desired user. We also show that any kind of PN sequence phase does not yield considerable advantage, unless $E_b/N_o$ is considerably greater than 10dB, since below that value AWGN dominates. However, when the higher $E_b/N_o$, the performance of both MSQCC/CO and CO/MSQCC criterion give the better results.

Iterative Detection and ICI Cancellation for MISO-mode DVB-T2 System with Dual Carrier Frequency Offsets

  • In the DVB-T2 system with a multiple-input single-output (MISO) transmission mode, Alamouti coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals are transmitted simultaneously from two spatially separated transmitters in a single frequency network (SFN). In such systems, each transmit-receive link may have a distinct carrier frequency offset (CFO) due to the Doppler shift and/or frequency mismatch between the local oscillators. Thus, the received signal experiences dual CFOs. This not only causes dual phase errors in desired data but also introduces inter-carrier interference (ICI), which cannot be removed completely by simply performing a CFO compensation. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes an iterative detection with dual phase errors compensation technique. In addition, we propose a successive-iterative ICI cancellation technique. This technique successively eliminates ICI in the initial iteration by exploiting pre-detected data pairs. Then, in subsequent iterations, it performs a fine interference cancellation using a priori information, iteratively fed back from the channel decoder. In contrast to previous works, the proposed techniques do not require estimates of dual CFOs. Their performances are evaluated via a full DVB-T2 simulator. Simulation results show that the DVB-T2 receiver equipped with the proposed dual phase errors compensation and the successive-iterative ICI cancellation techniques achieves almost the same performance as ideal dual CFOs-free systems, even for large dual CFOs.
