PS based MMS system for personalized MMS service (고객 맞춤형 MMS 서비스를 위한 PS 기반의 BcN MMS 시스템)

  • KT starts MMS(Multimedia Messaging System) service based on wired BcN(Broadband Convergence Network) telephone on August, 2008. BcN telephones have various service functions, and MMS service has been serviced for years. However, we should check KT MMS service system. KT MMS service is based on a PS(presence server), so KT MMS system sends a MMS message to the most convenience terminal for each receiver. Most other current MMS system send MMS message to a terminal which the sender set directly. However KT MMS system decides called party terminal based on the receiver's situation.

  • The purpose of this study is to design a system that can be used for military simulation and virtual training using the location information of individual soldier's weapons. After acquiring the location information using Arduino's GPS shield, it is designed to transmit data to the Smartphone using Bluetooth Shield, and transmit the data to the server using 3G/4G of Smartphone in real time. The server builds the system to measure, analyze and manage the current position and the tracking information of soldier. Using this proposed system makes it easier to analyze the training situation for individual soldiers and expect better training results.

  • Advances of the computer system and the high-speed network have made it possible to popularize the multimedia services among various applications in the internet. In addition, the number of the users and the kinds of multimedia services have been increasing day by day. Thus, this paper presents an internet live-broadcasting server system to accelerate these trends. The developed system facilitates creating or joining the broadcasting with just such basic components as PC camera and sound card. Development of a Small Waste Appliance Collection System (소형 폐가전 수거 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a small waste appliance collection system that can be used for efficient waste appliance collection, and implement an unmanned automatic small waste appliance collector system. First, we collected cases related to the collection of waste home appliances, compared and analyzed methods, and arranged the characteristics. We analyzed at the requirements for the collection and management system of waste appliances by dividing it into the aspect of the discharger and the recycling business company. The collection system consists of a client-server structure, which is a collector system and a collection management server. The unmanned automatic collector system is divided into a control unit and a machine/mechanical unit. We identified the functions that the collector system must perform and the hardware required to perform these functions. Based on this, the collector system was implemented as an embedded system. The hardware and software used in the implementation are described and the implementation results are described. The collection system developed in this paper will contribute to the development of urban mining industry by enabling the efficient collection of waste appliances.

  • As the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution is accelerating, IT convergence application technologies are attracting attention in various fields. In the manufacturing industry, Smart Factory technology, which is blended with IT technology, has been developed to solve the problem casued by the decrease of the labor force, and a monitoring server is required to remotely control the equipment or to inquire about the operation status of the factory. In this paper, we designed and implemented RESTful API for data sharing between factory equipment and monitoring server in Smart Factory. In order to verify the designed API, a testbed was operated for an actual plastics manufacturing plant. As a result, it was confirmed that the testbed can be operated normally in actual operating environment.

  • In multimedia service of Ubiquitous Home Environment(UHE), the requirements such as intelligent service that is executed automatically without direct order of user and fitted service compatible for each user and comfortable of user, interoperability of multimedia contents between incompatible devices will increase. Multimedia protection and management, authentication and authority administration methods that are suitable for above demands are also required. In this paper, we suggest authentication method suited for UHE and propose user oriented multimedia service(UHMS: Ubiquitous Home Multimedia Service) that provides the interoperability of multimedia between incompatible devices, conducts intelligently the context information (preference information, device information etc.) using sensor module and home server, provides and secure services.

  • The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication technologies is a key issue of the ubiquitous networks. So this paper offers the convergence of integrated telecommunication networks and broadcasting system, Advanced Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (AT-DMB), and the interconnection of them via the Media Independent Information Server/Service (MIIS). Then, this paper proposes the fast wakeup and connection mechanism with concepts for improving QoS and energy efficiency simultaneously. In the proposed convergence network, our mechanism places the key on the minimization of both the incoming service delay destined to a turned-off interface by using the broadcasting network and the additional energy consumption. This paper further evaluates the performance of proposed mechanism through the numerical and experimental analysis and has confirmed the decrease of both service delay and energy consumption.

  • This thesis is dealing with conveyer remote monitoring and control system for shoes process formed by client/server, which is based on Web. Modules for watching and controlling images in a remote by client is manufactured under JAVA, and conveyer server for real-time controlling is founded on RTLinux. And device driver and APIs are developed based on it. Through both manufacturing these software and LEGO-based prototyping, it would present the real-time conveyer controlling system founded on Web and 3-dimensional stereo camera to be applied to industrial spots.

  • During the last decade, Internet protocol television(IPTV), broadcasting of multimedia services using well understood Internet technologies, is a fast spreading technology for distributing multimedia content to consumers. As IPTV services advance, an increasing user demand and tremendous content volume of multimedia content cause some difficulties in network resource management. In this paper, we propose an improved load balancing algorithm for video-on-demand(VoD) service. Unlike existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm considers user's behaviors for VoD service, and determines the most efficient allocation of VoD requests by estimating expected server load and expected user waiting time.

  • We have designed and implemented an educational system based on the distributed virtual environment. The developed system has a client-server architecture: the platform-independent server is implementes by Java machine and the client is composed of VRML, EAI, and general web browser. If a change occurs in this virtual environment, all connected users can perceive the updated environment immediately. the system maintains its virtual environment after it is modified by a user. Also, the system can accommodate many users by minimizing the information exchange. Since users can share multimedia information and virtual objects by overcoming the limitation of time and space, the educational effects can be progressed through the use of the developed system.
