Complete Time Algorithm for Stadium Construction Scheduling Problem

  • This paper suggests heuristic algorithm with linear time complexity to decide the normal and optimal point at minimum loss/maximum profit maximum shortest scheduling problem with additional loss cost and bonus profit cost. This algorithm computes only the earliest ending time for each node. Therefore, this algorithm can be get the critical path and project duration within O(n) time complexity and reduces the five steps of critical path method to one step. The proposed algorithm can be show the result more visually than linear programming and critical path method. For real experimental data, the proposed algorithm obtains the same solution as linear programming more quickly.

멀티미디어기술을 이용한 치과방사선학 전자 교과서 제작에 관한 연구 (The Creation of Dental Radiology Multimedia Electronic Textbook)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to develop the electronic textbook (CD-rom title) about preclinical practice of oral and maxillofacial radiology, using multimedia technology with interactive environment. Materials and Methods: After comparing the three authoring methods of multimedia, i.e. programming language, multimedia authoring tool and web authoring tool, we determined the web authoring tool as an authoring method of our electronic textbook. Intel Pentium II 350 MHz IBM-compatible personal computer with 128 Megabyte RAM, Umax Powerlook flatbed scanner with transparency unit, Olympus Camedia l400L digital camera, ESS 1686 sound card, Sony 8 mm Handycam, PC Vision 97 pro capture board, Namo web editor 3.0, Photoshop 3.0, ThumbNailer, RealPlayer 7 basic and RealProducer G2 were used for creating the text document, diagram, figure, X-ray image, video and sound files. We made use of javascripts for tree menu structure, moving text bar, link button and spread list menu and image map etc. After creating all files and hyperlinking them, we burned out the CD-rom title with all of the above multimedia data, Netscape communicator and plug in program as a prototype. Results and Conclusions : We developed the dental radiology electronic textbook which has 9 chapters and consists of 155 text documents, 26 figures, 150 X-ray image files, 20 video files, 20 sound files and 50 questions with answers. We expect that this CD-rom title can be used at the intranet and internet environments and continuous updates will be performed easily.

Energy-Efficient Base Station Operation in Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

  • In this paper, we study the ON/OFF control policy of base stations in two-tier heterogeneous cellular networks to minimize the total power consumption of the system. Using heterogeneous cellular networks is a potential approach of providing higher throughput and coverage compared to conventional networks with only macrocell deployment, but in fact heterogeneous cellular networks often operates regardless of total power consumption, which is a very important issue of modern cellular networks. We propose a policy that controls the activation/deactivation of base stations in heterogeneous cellular networks to minimize total power consumption. Under this policy, the total power consumed can be significantly reduced when the traffic is low while the QoS requirement is satisfied.

수집된 경로데이터를 사용하는 내비게이션을 위한 대용량 경로조합 방법 (A Big-Data Trajectory Combination Method for Navigations using Collected Trajectory Data)

  • In trajectory-based navigation systems, a huge amount of trajectory data is needed for efficient route explorations. However, it would be very hard to collect trajectories from all the possible start and destination combinations. To provide a practical solution to this problem, we suggest a method combining collected GPS trajectories data into additional generated trajectories with new start and destination combinations without road information. We present a trajectory combination algorithm and its implementation with Scala programming language on Spark platform for big data processing. The experimental results proved that the proposed method can effectively populate the collected trajectories into valid trajectory paths more than three hundred times.

  • Doppler weather radar is an important tool for meteorological research. Through several decades of development, Doppler weather radar has enormous progress in understanding, detection and warning of meso and micro scale weather system. It makes a significant contribution to weather forecast and weather disaster warning. But the large amount of data process limits the application of Doppler weather radar. This paper proposed for fast weather radar data processing based on CUDA. CDUA is a powerful platform for highly parallel programming developed by NVIDIA. Through running plenty of threads, radar data can be calculated at same time. In experiment, CUDA parallel program can significantly improve weather data processing time.

A Real-Time Algorithm for Timeslot Assignment in ISM System with DVB-RCS

  • This paper considers a timeslot assignment problem in an interactive satellite multimedia (ISM) system with digital video broadcast-return channel via satellite (DVB-RCS). The timeslot assignment problem is formulated as a binary integer programming to maximize the overall weighted throughput and is shown to be NP-hard. Thus, three real-time heuristic algorithms including ratio-based, packet-size (PS)-based, and transmission gain (TG)-based are derived, and some computational experiments are made. Considering the results, the ratio-based heuristic algorithm is demonstrated to be the most effective and efficient. We propose adapting the ratio-based heuristic algorithm to the timeslot assignment problem to greatly improve the ISM system utilization.

The Implementation of a 3D Game Engine based on DirectX 9

  • Recently, almost games are using the 3D environment. Therefore, it required strongly that well-structured 3D engine or tools for development of some complicate 3D applications efficiently. In this paper, we design and implement a 3D engine (PLay engine) using the DirectX 9 SDK of the Microsoft corporation. The PLay engine has independent module structure, which has object oriented characteristics. and has not only 3D rendering functions but efficient algorithms. Moreover, we implement some tools what has compatibility with our engine for convenience. Therefore, it helps development of a 3D application easily and efficiently. We also describe each module with 2-layer structure, and each tool with compatible module, and make a simple game using PLay engine for testify.

  • 네트워크에 대한 요구는 점차적으로 복잡해지고 그 수가 증가하고 있는 상태이다. 이를 극복하기 위해 현존하는 네트워크 노드의 구조를 프로그래밍이 가능하도록 하는 능동 네트워크 기술이 등장하게 되었다. 이것은 사용자 요구 기능을 수행할 수 있는 프로그램 코드를 전송 및 실행함으로써 통신망에 새로운 서비스를 신속하고 경제적으로 도입하여 망 자원들을 보다 적절하게 활용할 수 있도록 하는 기술 분야이다. 본 논문에서는 능동 네트워크 상에서 능동센서의 기능 및 동작 방식을 기술하기 위한 프로그래밍 언어를 제안하고 이러한 언어를 기반으로 능동센서를 용이하게 다룰 수 있는 능동센서 인터프리터를 설계 및 구현한다.

A Kind of Digital Intelligent System for the Ink Hue Analysis

  • This paper introduces a kind of new ink hue analysis system (HAS) based on the model-distinguishing technology and briefly casts light on the principle of the analysis. Also, it stresses the hardware structure, the software designing methods and programming procedure of the HAS as well as its interface. And the simulation result of the experiment data was given. The study shows that this kind of system can help to improve the color arrangements and managements of ink. The accuracy has reached ${\pm}0.5%$ compared with high precision density meter.

  • e-러닝이 세간의 관심을 모으는 이유는 교육의 패러다임이 바뀔 수 있다는 점이다. 교육은 모든 분야에 필수적이고, 교육 방식이 바뀐다는 의미는 새로운 시장이 만들어진다는 것이다. 하지만 온라인 교육이 가질 수 있는 장점들을 제대로 활용하지 못한다면 새로운 시장이 만들어진다 하더라도 쉽게 시들어 갈 것이며, 최근에 나와 있는 e-learning과 관련된 사이트들을 보더라도 전자상거래나 쇼핑몰 혹은 검색, 포털 사이트처럼 빠르게 성장할 수 없다 우리는 학창 시절에 어떠한 친구를 만나느냐, 혹은 어떠한 짝꿍을 만나느냐에 따라서 본인의 학습 성취도는 매우 다르다는 것을 경험해 보았을 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 학습자들에게 보다 쉽게 짝 찾는 방법과 짝 짓는 방법을 제공하여 학습자들간의 상호협력을 이루어 문제해결 능력과 새로운 지식을 만들어 갈 수 있도록 하였으며, 짝 프로그래밍을 통해서 학습자는 최적의 짝꿍을 만나 지속적인 상호작용으로 흥미와 집중을 유지하여 적극적이고 완전한 학습이 이루어질 수 있도록 하였다. 끝으로 본 연구가 웹 상의 학습자들에게 서로간의 대화를 통해 에러의 원인을 효과적으로 찾아 바로 잡을 수 있는 짝 프로그래밍을 제공했다는 점에서 새로운 학습 시스템의 개발방법을 제시했다고 결론지을 수 있다.
