A Study on Design and Implementation of Digital Content for Education of e-Commerce (전자상거래 교육을 위한 디지털 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현에 관한 연구)

  • Through the development of the Internet and multimedia systems, usage of cyber education with multimedia contents is increasing. On-line education differs from face-to-face education in that it overcomes the limits of the time and space, and supports a repeated self study at the student's study level while using several media and educational contents. In this paper, we will design and implement e-commerce educational content which is effective for students and useful for the process of cyber education. In addition, we will produce statistics from a questionnaire which questioned students on the effectiveness of the content.

  • 시간관리는 자기조절관리의 중요한 요인으로 자리매김하면서 중요한 학습전략으로 채택되고 있다. 이에 따라, 최근까지 웹이나 스마트폰에서 시간을 관리하는 응용들이 많이 개발되고 있다. 하지만, 기존의 프로그램들을 본다면 현재와 과거를 기록하는 형식이 주를 이루었고 시간이 중심이었지 이를 공간과 함께 고려하지는 않았다. 하지만 본 연구는 웹을 기반으로 하여 시간과 공간을 함께 고려한 사용자 히스토리 기록과 미래를 설계할 수 있는 응용 프로그램을 개발한다. 본 연구에서는 미래도 함께 계획할 수 있게 구성되었고 시간과 함께 공간도 기록할 수 있다는 점에서 다른 기존의 프로그램 차별화를 이룬다. 또한, 학생들이 미래를 계획할 때 부모가 일방적으로 지도하는 것이 아니라 조언자로서의 역할을 하여 학생들과 상호작용을 할 수 있는 장점을 가진다.

Development of Infants Music Education Application Using Augmented Reality

  • Augmented Reality (AR) technology has rapidly been applied to various application areas including e-learning and e-education. Focusing on the design and development of android tablet application, this study targeted to develop infant music education using AR technology. We used a tablet instead of personal computer because it is more easily accessible and more convenient. Our system allows infant users to play with teaching aids like blocks or puzzles to mimic musical play like game. The user sets the puzzle piece on the playground in front of the tablet and presses the play button. Then, the system extracts a region of interest among the images acquired by internal camera and separates the foreground image from the background image. The block recognition software analyzes, recognizes and shows the result using AR technology. In order to have reasonably working recognition ratio, we did experiments with more than 5,000 frames of actual playing scenarios. We found that the recognition rate can be secured up to 95%, when the threshold values are selected well using various condition parameters.

  • Today, computational thinking takes an important role in problem solving in software education. As a result, software education as liberal arts for non-CS major students is rapidly expanding. It is necessary to study the effects of computational thinking on software problem solving ability compared to traditional programming language education. In this paper, we propose an evaluation model for analyzing the effects of computational thinking on the overall software development process, and analyze how the problem solving process is different for learners who take computing thinking classes and programming language courses as liberal arts courses. As a result, students who learned computational thinking showed higher ability in problem analysis and design process.

  • A lot of efforts have been made to develop a new technology for efficient distance education based on a powerful Internet service like World Wide Web. By developed distance education systems, we can study something we want at anytime and anywhere. However in spite of the excellent achievements we have made, something insufficient still is remained. Distance education methods only depending on static homepages or voices and simple drawings may be insufficient to support as much effects as in real class. So it is necessary to develop a new method for teaching students more feasibly and efficiently In this paper, we try to design and implement a lecture authoring system that offers effective distance education with voices, animations, camera images, drawings and etc.. We can expect the designed system can give more efficient education effects like a face-to-face lecture in real class. The enclosed function of intense compression enables to transmit the lectures more speedily. Besides it has caption processing function to serve additional informations to students with caption texts, messages and hyperlinks.

Web Accessibility Evaluation of Korean Museum Websites (국내 미술관 사이트의 웹 접근성 평가)

  • Museums have recently been expanding their roles as education providers to use websites to provide a variety of information and services including educational programs. In order to better perform their roles as education providers, it is important for museums to commit themselves to making their websites accessible and easy for everyone to use, in compliance with web accessibility. 20 of museum websites were chosen to study the state of web accessibility of domestic museum websites, and were evaluated by using an automated web accessibility evaluation tool called the K-WAH 4.4. And then, we analyze the compliance rates of web accessibility based on 6 Requirements in the KWCAG 2.1. As a Result, only two museums satisfy the compliance rates on 6 Requirements and national & public museums are higher than private museums in compliance rates. So, to improve web accessibility, we comply with accessibility guidelines and design web contents. After witch we should improve web accessibility by modifying insufficient requirements immediately through periodical evaluations.

A Study on Parents' View of the Augmented Reality Card Use for Pr e-School Education

  • Parents' influence on children's development is generally considered essential. This paper attempts to explore the role of AR in preschool education from the perspective of parents, aiming to help parents better understand the impact of children's use of augmented reality in preschool education. The subjects were parents of children in the preschool age range (3-6 years old), and the experimental equipment was AR cognitive cards. In order to extract parents' views on AR, five parents were invited to conduct an experiment with their children using AR cognition cards, and then an open interview survey was conducted. In the second experiment, the answers obtained from the first experiment were sorted out and formed a questionnaire to conduct a closed-book survey. It shows that parents are satisfied with the characteristics of AR to assist their children's learning. At the same time, parents also value technology, usage management and playing environment. AR can stimulate children's learning initiative. Children like to use AR, AR is suitable for learning, make parents satisfied. But even if AR is suitable for learning, parents will control the time their children use it.

  • The coursewares available on the web are on active development by each country all over the world in accordance with web prevailing. Many Visual Basic language courseware is also into web-based education it is not improving the effect of learning. Hence through this study, in orer to be out of the said kind of approach, 1)by adding multimedia elements with making the best of web characteristics, 2)escalating the studying effect of learners' with experimental environment, and 3)providing proper feedbacks in assessment of learners' reactions 4)we invented web-based multimedia courseware with the technology of Real Encoder, Real Player, Active X etc. and tried adapting it to school education field on the basis of design model of professor-learning system.

  • With the advancement of information and communications technologies and the universal dissemination of smartphones, ICT-utilizing education is also getting the limelight. In the recent ICT-utilizing education, teachers and learners produce massive digital data by consulting massive information on the Internet, and the produced data is filtered in the process of education and utilized for the current and next educational programs. In order to construct the data well-suited for education from massive data available on the Internet, it is important to verify the quality of the educational data. To this end, we propose an educational website that can provide the data satisfying visual needs demanded by learners in terms of utilizing a digital curation system. In this paper, we also present a design and implementation of the website that non-ICT majors can easily use, which in turn enables them to conduct the education of creative personality utilizing image and video contents.

M2M Network Platform Using the MSRP (MSRP를 이용한 M2M 플랫폼 구조)

  • Machine to Machine (M2M) communications is communications between a business application and devices via a communication network without any direct human interaction. The aim of our research is to connect any M2M device with an M2M AS (Application server) through an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) Network Core using a M2M Gateway, in order to develop an M2M Horizontal Services Platform over IMS. An IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an architectural framework defined by the wireless standards body of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for delivering IP multimedia services to mobile users. This paper shows the design and implementation of a Horizontal M2M Network Services Platform over an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) using the Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP). We summarize the protocols and architectures that formed the basis for the creation of our architecture. We provide a detailed description of our architecture design, describing the call flow of the proposed architecture and the entities operating in each process. We also describe the design and implementation process detailing the different tools used, explaining the selection of each component and its importance; also how we designed and implemented the M2M gateway, M2M Application Server, Open IMS Core, business application and M2M devices.
