This paper reveals a distance estimation algorithm based on multi-code ultrasonic and wireless sensor network. For measuring the distances among the sensor nodes, each ultrasonic transmitter transmits multi-code ultrasonic signal simultaneously. Receivers use cross correlation method to separate the coded signals. The information of measured distances is broadcasted to each sensor node by wireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network measures the distance among the sensor nodes using the received signal strength of the broadcasting. The multi-code ultrasonic have a limitation of measurable distance. And the received signal strength is affected from an environment. This paper measures a distance using ultrasonic and a received signal strength in short range. These measured data are applied to the least square estimation algorithm. By the expansion of the fitting curve, a distance measurement in long range using the received signal strength is compensated. The coupled system reduce the error to an acceptable level.

In this paper, we proposed the novel hybrid multi-level inverter using combination of the output voltage of transformers to reduce the THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) and improve the waveform of output voltage. The proposed multi-level inverter used the output of transformer which is 1times, 2times, 4times of input of the transformers. So we increased the output voltage from the reduce the number of switching component and transformer. Also, we tested the proposed prototype 15-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of control signal for the proposed multi -level PWM inverter.

This paper proposes a new method to improve signal characteristics at branches frequently met in system-level routing. We also introduce the numerical formula which can estimate the time delay due to branches and the simple design guideline for system-level routing. Finally, we propose the routing method which can eliminate the signal reflection for the case of one driver and two receivers (multi-drop topology).

An accurate constant output voltage provided by the analog memory cell may be used by the low power oscillator to generate an accurate low frequency output signal. This accurate low frequency output signal may be used to maintain long-term timing accuracy in host devices during sleep modes of operation when an external crystal is not available to provide a clock signal. Further, incorporation of the analog memory cell in the low power oscillator is fully implementable in a 0.35um Samsung standard CMOS process. Therefore, the analog memory cell incorporated into the low power oscillator avoids the previous problems in a oscillator by providing a temperature-stable, low power consumption, size-efficient method for generating an accurate reference clock signal that can be used to support long sleep mode operation.
In this study, the simultaneous use of a multi-level converter (MLC) as a DC-motor drive and as an active battery cell balancer is investigated. MLCs allow each battery cell in a battery pack to be independently switched on and off, thereby enabling the potential non-uniform use of battery cells. By exploiting this property and the brake regeneration phases in the drive cycle, MLCs can balance both the state of charge (SoC) and temperature differences between cells, which are two known causes of battery wear, even without reciprocating the coolant flow inside the pack. The optimal control policy (OP) that considers both battery pack temperature and SoC dynamics is studied in detail based on the assumption that information on the state of each cell, the schedule of reciprocating air flow and the future driving profile are perfectly known. Results show that OP provides significant reductions in temperature and in SoC deviations compared with the uniform use of all cells even with uni-directional coolant flow. Thus, reciprocating coolant flow is a redundant function for a MLC-based cell balancer. A specific contribution of this paper is the derivation of a state-space electro-thermal model of a battery submodule for both uni-directional and reciprocating coolant flows under the switching action of MLC, resulting in OP being derived by the solution of a convex optimization problem.

In this paper, we present a low complexity modified multi-level sphere decoder (SD) for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems employing quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals. The proposed decoder, exploiting the multi-level structure of the QAM signal scheme, first decomposes the high-level constellation into low-level 4-QAM constellations, so-called sub-constellations. Then, it deploys SD in the sub-constellations in parallel. In addition, in the searching stage, it uses the optimal low-complexity sort method. Computer simulation results show that the proposed decoder can provide near optimal maximum-likelihood (ML) performance while it significantly reduces the computational load.

In this paper, we propose an electric circuit using one common-arm of H-Bridge inverters to reduce the number of switching components in the multi-level inverter combined with H-Bridge inverters and transformers. And furthermore, we suggested a new multi-level PWM inverter using PWM level to reduce THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). We use a phase-shift switching method that has the same rate of usage at each transformer. Also, we test the proposed prototype 9-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of the control signal for the proposed multi-level PWM inverter.
