Realization of 3D Human's bone and Alimentary Canal by WWW (WWW 기반의 가상현실 속에서 인체의 골격과 소화기관의 3D 구현)

  • Current]y, the lack of equipments for the medical practice and education made it impossible for the people in medical institution to carry out suitable experiments for observing human bodies. In this paper, the authors embodied three dimensional images and moving pictures for the human skeletal structure, digestive organs and their processes over the internet framework. The three dimensional images and moving picture made it possible for the general people as well as the specialists to observe and obtain informations with regard to the human body. Especially, the authors realized a framework for visualizing the human bodies in three dimensional images, via which a detailed and realistic architecture for the human body and its organs can be obtained. The system developed in this Paper can be used in the practice and education of the people engaged in medical fields.

  • The hydraulic loading system real-time simulator using a PC and I/O interface board is developed to simulate the dynamic characteristics of hydraulic loading system in real time. The simulator receives the digital on-off control signals generated by the operator through the D/I channels, updates the state and output variables of the hydraulic loading system responding to the input signals and draw the moving pictuters of the lift cylinder, lift arm and loading box on the PC monitor in real time. Also, the operator can observe the displacement and pressure of cylinder, the rotatinal angle, reaction force, and safety factors of lift arm representing the operation of hydraulic loading system through the PC monitor in real time. The real-time simulator can be a very useful tool to design industrial dynamic systems and feel the goodness of the system operation since the operator can observe the moving pictures of the operating system in real time as he operates the real time simulator.

  • A patient table considering x-ray transparency, mechanical safety and compact multi-axis moving mechanism has been developed. The goal of medical imaging technology is to keep radiation exposure of patients during x-raying to a minimum. In order to obtain clear pictures at low dose, however, the x-ray table which supports the patient must be sufficiently permeable to radiation to allow good image resolution. The table top is made of low density foam for x-ray transparent effective area and structural aluminum plate to connect moving mechanism under the table, covered with thin carbon fiber. This sandwich construction is very rigid and lightweight, so the table top can handle relatively heavy load comparing to its cantilevered structure which is unavoidable as long as cooperate with C-arm radiography. To verify the design results finite element static analysis and experimental tests have been done. According to the verification the results well satisfy certification guide lines as a medical device.

  • As technology advances, console game machines have developed the abilities to materialize high frames per second. And that have enabled console games machines to implement more active and natural moving. In general moving pictures, 30 frames per second is enough for people to enjoy motion contents. But In the game field, the need for implementation of more than 60 frames are being raised, and there is the controversial that is necessary or not. This paper will analyze that high frames per second (E.g. more 30fps) is really necessary or not in the console game machines, and that is efficient in game playing.

  • In this paper, the method of region segmentation using genetic algorithm is proposed for an improvement of efficiency in moving picture coding. A genetic algorithm is the method that searches a large probing space using only a function value for a optimal combination consecutively. By progressing both motion presumption and region segmentation at once, we can assign the motion vector in a image to a small block or a pixel respectively, and transform the capacity of coding and a signal to noise rate into a problem of optimization. That is to say, there is close correlation between region segmentation and motion presumption in motion-compensated prediction coding. This is to optimize the capacity of coding and a S/N ratio. This is to arrange the motion vector in each block of picture according to the state of optimization. Therefore, we examined both the data type of genetic algorithm and the method of data processing to obtain the results of optimal region segmentation in this paper. And we confirmed the validity of a proposed method using the test pictures by means of computer simulation.

Efficient Generation of 3-D Video Holograms Using Temporal-Spatial Redundancy of 3-D Moving Images (3차원 동영상의 시ㆍ공간적 정보 중복성을 이용한 효과적인 3차원 비디오 홀로그램의 생성)

  • In this paper, a new method to efficiently generate the 3-D(three-dimensional) video holograms for 3-D moving scenes, which is called here the TSR-N-LUT method, is proposed by the combined use of temporal-spatial redundancy(TSR) of 3-D video images and novel look-up table(N-LUT) technique. That is, in the proposed scheme, with the differential pulse code modulation (DPCM) algorithm, temporally redundancy redundant data in the inter-frame of a 3-D video images are removed between the frames, and then inter-line redundant data in the inter-frame of 3-D video images are also removed by using the DPCM method between the lines. Experimental results show that the proposed method could reduced the number of calculated object points and the calculation time of one object point by 23.72% and 19.55%, respectively on the average compared to the conventional method. Good experimental results with 3-D test moving pictures finally confirmed the feasibility of the proposed method to the fast generation of CGH patterns of the 3-D video images.

  • In this paper we implemented the Real Time Contrast Enhancer for image quality enhancement of moving picture. Also we proposed adaptive contrast control method that use mean and variance of input video signal. The Designed the contrast Enhancer is measured in comparison with conventional pictures and interfaced to 30inch TFT LCD TV.

  • The role of domain-specific causal mechanism information and domain-general conditional probability in young children's causal reasoning on physics and psychology was investigated with the participation of 121 3-year-olds and 121 4-year-olds recruited from seven child care centers in Seoul, Kyonggi Province, and Busan. Children watched moving pictures on physical and psychological phenomena, and were asked to choose an appropriate cause and justify their choice. Results showed that young children's causal reasoning differed depending on domain-specific mechanism. In addition, their causal reasoning on physics and psychology differed by the developmental level of causal mechanism. The interaction of domain-specific mechanism and domain-general conditional probability influenced children's causal reasoning : evident conditional probability between domain-appropriate cause and effect helped children make more inferences based on domain-specific causal mechanism.

  • This paper describes a low-cost omnidirectional camera system designed for the intruder detection capability of a security robot. Moving targets on sequential images are detected first by an adaptive background subtraction technique, and the targets are identified as intruders if they fail to enter a password within a preset time. A warning message is then sent to the owner's mobile phone. The owner can check scene pictures posted by the system on the web. The system developed worked well in experiments including a situation when the indoor lighting was suddenly changed.
