  • With the improvement of the computer performance, the users demand for the multimedia player is getting higher, which will be the major force behind the wide distribution of the media player that allows several moving pictures to run simultaneously using multiple windows on the screen. Products that adopted the same method used for a single moving picture and yet support the several moving pictures simultaneously emerged; however, they are not immune from problems. In this paper, we propose method to solve the problems of blinking, play prioritization processor and semi-transparent Processor that occur when appling several moving pictures to the method used for a single moving picture and suggested the possible solutions. Taking it one step further, it focused on design and implementation of the media player that allows several moving pictures using overlapping and overlay technique by recognizing the biggest problem, which is that the above media play is not supported when playing several moving pictures simultaneously.

  • Currently, one of the most critical issues in developing the service support system for various spatio-temporal applications is the discoverying of meaningful knowledge from the large volume of moving object data. This sort of knowledge refers to the spatiotemporal moving pattern. To discovery such knowledge, various relationships between moving objects such as temporal, spatial and spatiotemporal topological relationships needs to be considered in knowledge discovery. In this paper, we proposed an efficient method, MPMine, for discoverying spatiotemporal moving patterns. The method not only has considered both temporal constraint and spatial constrain but also performs the spatial generalization using a spatial topological operation, contain(). Different from the previous temporal pattern methods, the proposed method is able to save the search space by using the location summarization and generalization of the moving object data. Therefore, Efficient discoverying of the useful moving patterns is possible.

  • Extraction and tracking objects are fundamental and important steps of the digital image processing and computer vision. Many algorithms about extracting and tracking objects have been developed. In this research, a method is suggested for tracking a moving object using a pair of CCD cameras and calculating the coordinate of the moving object. A 1/100 miniature of soccer field was made to apply the developed algorithms. After candidates were selected from the acquired images using the RGB value of a moving object (soccer ball), the object was extracted using its size (MBR size) among the candidates. And then, image coordinates of a moving object are obtained. The real-time position of a moving object is tracked in the boundary of the expected motion, which is determined by centering the moving object. The 3D position of a moving object can be obtained by conducting the relative orientation, absolute orientation, and space intersection of a pair of the CCD camera image.

  • The performance of spatio-temporal moving pattern mining depends on how to analyze and process the huge set of spatio-temporal data due to the nature of it. The several method was presented in order to solve the problems in which existing spatio-temporal moving pattern mining methods[1-10] have, such as increasing execution time and required memory size during the pattern mining, but they did not solve properly yet. Thus, we proposed the STMP/MST method[11] as a preceding research in order to extract effectively sequential and/or periodical frequent occurrence moving patterns from the huge set of spatio-temporal moving data. The proposed method reduces patterns mining execution time, using the moving sequence tree based on hash tree. And also, to minimize the required memory space, it generalizes detailed historical data including spatio-temporal attributes into the real world scopes of space and time by using spatio-temporal concept hierarchy. In this paper, in order to verify the effectiveness of the STMP/MST method, we compared and analyzed performance with existing spatio-temporal moving pattern mining methods based on the quantity of mining data and minimum support factor.

  • Most systems in ubiquitous computing analyze context information of users which have similar propensity with demographics methods and collaborative filtering to provide personalized recommendation services. The systems have mostly used static context information such as sex, age, job, and purchase history. However the systems have limitation to analyze users' propensity accurately and to provide personalized recommendation services in real-time, because they have difficulty in considering users situation as moving path. In this paper we use users' moving path of dynamic context to consider users situation. For the prediction accuracy we complete with a path completion algorithm to moving path which is inputted to RSOM. We train the moving path to be completed by RSOM, analyze users' moving pattern and predict a future moving path. Then we recommend the nearest product on the prediction path with users' high preference in real-time. As the experimental result, MAE is lower than 0.5 averagely and we confirmed our method can predict users moving path correctly.

  • In this paper, the autonomous mobile robot whit only LRF sensors proposes an algorithm for avoiding moving obstacles in an environment where a global map containing fixed obstacles. First of all, in oder to avoid moving obstacles, moving obstacles are extracted using LRF distance sensor data and a global map. An ellipse-shaped safety radius is created using the sum of relative vector components between the extracted moving obstacles and of the autonomuos mobile robot. Considering the created safety radius, the autonomous mobile robot can avoid moving obstacles and reach the destination. To verify the proposed algorithm, use quantitative analysis methods to compare and analyze with existing algorithms. The analysis method compares the length and run time of the proposed algorithm with the length of the path of the existing algorithm based on the absence of a moving obstacle. The proposed algorithm can be avoided by taking into account the relative speed and direction of the moving obstacle, so both the route and the driving time show higher performance than the existing algorithm.

  • High-speed trains became common nowadays due to the need for fast and safe mean to transport goods and people. However, the use of high-speed trains necessitates the examination of the critical speed, which is the train speed at which the maximum settlement of the railway track occurs. The critical speed and railway track settlement have been investigated considering only one train in previous studies. However, it is normal to have two adjacent trains moving at the same time. This paper aims to understand how the interference of two moving trains affects the settlement and critical speed of ballasted railway track. Calibrated three-dimensional finite element models of railway track subjected to one moving train and two moving trains have been developed to address the aim of the study. It is found that the interference dramatically increases the railway track settlement with a percentage increase ranges between 5 and 100%. It is also found that the percentage increase of the railway track settlement depends on the train speed and the distance between the moving trains. In addition, it is found that the thickness of the ballast layer and the stiffness of the subgrade have minor influence on the percentage increase of the settlement. Importantly, the results of this paper illustrate the importance of the interference of the moving trains on the dynamic response of the railway track. Thus, there is a need to consider the dynamic interaction between the adjacent moving trains in the design of railway track foundation.

  • This paper presents the numerical simulation results on the moving type electrodynamic suspension (EDS) simulator and static type EDS simulator using high-Tc superconducting (HTS) levitation magnet. The levitation force of the EDS system is formed by the reaction between the moving magnet and the fixed ground conductor. The possible two ways to simulate the EDS system were simulated in this paper by using finite element method (FEM). The first way was the moving type simulator which consists of the fixed HTS magnet and the moving ground conductor. The second way was the static type simulator which consists of the fixed magnet, the fixed ground conductor and the ac current supply system. To verify the characteristics of high speed EDS system with the moving type simulator heavy, large and fast moving ground conductor is needed. The static type simulator can get the characteristics of the high speed EDS system by applying equivalent ac current to velocity, therefore it does not need large moving part. The static type EDS simulator, which can consist of an HTS magnet, the fixed ground conductor(s), an AC power supply and the measuring devices, also test the effect of the shape of the ground conductor easily. The plate type ground conductor made stronger levitation force than ring type ground conductor. Although the outer diameter 335 mm ring type ground conductor (Ring3) was larger than the outer diameter 235 mm ground conductor (Ring2), the levitation force by Ring2 was stronger than that by Ring3. From the calculation results on this paper, the consideration of the magnetic flux distribution according to the levitation height should be included in the process of the ground conductor design.

  • In this paper, efficient tracking of a moving object using optimal representative blocks is implemented by a mobile robot with a pan-tilt camera. The key idea comes from the fact that when the image size of moving object is shrunk in an image frame according to the distance between the camera of mobile robot and the moving object, the tracking performance of a moving object can be improved by changing the size of representative blocks according to the object image size. Motion estimation using Edge Detection(ED) and Block-Matching Algorithm(BMA) is often used in the case of moving object tracking by vision sensors. However these methods often miss the real-time vision data since these schemes suffer from the heavy computational load. In this paper, the optimal representative block that can reduce a lot of data to be computed, is defined and optimized by changing the size of representative block according to the size of object in the image frame to improve the tracking performance. The proposed algorithm is verified experimentally by using a two degree-of-freedom active camera mounted on a mobile robot.

  • The paper deals with the study of the dynamics of the oscillating moving ring load acting in the interior of the hollow circular cylinder surrounded by an elastic medium. The axisymmetric loading case is considered and the study is made by employing the exact equations and relations of linear elastodynamics. The focus is on the influence of the oscillation of the moving load and the problem parameters such as the cylinder's thickness/radius ratio on the critical velocities. At the same time, the dependence between the interface stresses and load moving velocity under various frequencies of this load, as well as the frequency response of the mentioned stresses under various load velocity are investigated. In particular, it is established that oscillation of the moving load can cause the values of the critical velocity to decrease significantly and at the same time the oscillation of the moving load can lead to parametric resonance. It is also established that the critical velocity decreases with decreasing of the cylinder's thickness/radiusratio.
