  • This paper proposes a novel motor drive system for the electric vehicle. In this paper, four-wheel-direct-drive type electric vehicle system is designed and the theoretical and experimental analysis of the system is investigated. The concept of steering not with steering the wheels but with the difference of the motor torque fives the flexibility of the vehicle design and, allows the omission of the differential gear, transmission gear, and drive axles. Thus the proposed system gives the space between wheels and improves the driver's steering performance.

  • In this paper, a controller design for brushless linear motor is proposed. The designed controller is mainly composed of speed and current controller, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor(DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented using by 32-bit DSP(TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device(EPM7128), and IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for the brushless linear motor.

  • This paper presents 3-phase current regulation of SR motor by only single current sensor. The conventional drive system of SR motor has a current sensor per each phase. In this paper, The asymmetric bridge converter which Is able to control independently phases and be excited simultaneously is used fs the driver system for 6/4 poles SR motor. And the sensor Is replaced 3 sensors of each phase with only one on bus line of converter so as to detect current of every phase. A drive logic circuit is designed on EPLD with Delta modulation using a fixed frequency This technique is verified through simulation and experiment.

  • A vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which a human being feels as if the one drives a vehicle actually. Driving Operation System acts as an interface between a driver and a driving simulator. This paper suggests the driving operation system for a driving simulator. This system consists of a controller, DC geared motor, MR brake, rotary encoders, steeping motor and bevel gear box. Reaction force and torque on the steering system were made by DC_Motor and MR_Brake. Reaction force and torque on the steering system were compare between real car and a driving simulator. The controller based on the 80C196KC micro processor that manage and transfer signal.

  • In this paper, designs of an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) and its motor driver for 42V automotive air condition system are introduced. The characteristics of the IPMSM are predicted by using d-q equivalent circuit having the parameters, such as current phase angle, d-q axis inductances, core loss resistance, etc. The experimental and analysis results of the prototype are compared to show validity of the analysis method, and to give analyzed characteristics in detail. As the result, an improved IPMSM is designed to widen the operating speed limit of prototype; a cost effective AC drive are considered at the same time.

  • To overcome the limited relative uncertainty and work range of the existing planar stage and the bulk structure of the contact-less motor for rotation, the novel operating principle to realize the precise rotation is suggested. It uses the two-axial vector forces, normal force and thrust force, of three-induction type of axial motors located $120^{\circ}$ apart, resulting in the contact-free rotation of the mover. Firstly in this paper, the magnetic forces across the air gap are modeled and simulated under the various conditions. It clarifies the feasible range of the derived solution. And the algorithm compensating the strong cross couple between the forces and the control inputs; generally AC magnitude and slip frequency, is given to realize the independent control of six axes. Finally, for the successfully implemented system, the round test and the micro step test results are given.

  • This Paper described the hish performance position control for elevator using induction motor and driver. In this paper, the suitable Motor specifications for elevator drive are briefly discussed and high accuracy position control for both kinds of control method is analysed considering the parameter variation in the primary and secondary resistances. Since the pre-identified values of the motor constants are used to determine the control inputs, the performance degradation is caused by the parameter variation such as in the motor resistance. Particularly, the value of secondary resistance is considered significant because the control gain to determine the slip frequency is heavily dependent on that. The new proposed method uses on special small input signal for the parameter indentification and is expected to have the high accuracy position.

  • This paper shows the Design and implementation of sinusoidal BLDC motor drive logic using SVPWM method with FPGA. Sinusoidal BLDC motor driver logic consists of sine-wave PWM generator, dead-time and lead angle control logic. PWM generator logic is designed using SVPWM method for increase of 15.5% linear domain than general sine-wave PWM. This logic is verified and implemented using Spartan-6 FPGA Board. Test results show that THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of motor-driving current is 19.2% and rotor position resolution is 1.6 degree.

  • Recently the importance of the cargo handling equipments in a port has been increasing to get strong competition from other ports. Many ports are making efforts to modernize their cargo handling equipments. The kernel technology of such equipments is the speed control of DC motor which is used as an essential part of them. In this paper, we discuss the speed control of a DC motor as a basic work for building cargo handling equipments in a port. DC Motors are still widely used in industrial fields, as driving power motor for electrical fields. DC drives, being easy to control, are widely used in many variable-speed and position control drive system. Traditional analog control circuits used in such applications have many disadvantages. Complex control schemes are difficult to implement with analog components. All these factor and invention of the microprocessor has made it possible to use digital control circuits, using microprocessing system. These digital circuits have been found to be reliable, flexible, and also immune to noise. In this paper it presents the speed control of a SCR DC motor driver which using dual converter by 80c196kc microprocessor. We developed a thyristor power amplifier which does not cause damage thyristor because it is designed to prevent triggering the two SCRs in the same arm simultaneously. And it was analyzed voltage and currents wave at reactive load.
