Types of motivation for self-determination studied in the current research included intrinsic motivation (IM) to know, IM to accomplish, IM to experience stimulation; external, introjected, identified regulation; and amotivation as related to children's self-regulated learning strategies (use of cognitive strategy and self-regulation). The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (Pintrich & DeGroot, 1990) and the Academic Motivation Scale (Vallerand et al., 1992, 1993) were administered to 123 $5^{th}$ graders (63 girls, 60 boys). Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, multiple regression, and canonical correlation analysis. Results indicated that IM to accomplish, IM to know, and identified regulation positively and amotivation negatively affected self-regulated learning strategies. IM to accomplish and IM to know positively and amotivation negatively contributed to use of cognitive strategy and self-regulation.

The study aimed to pinpoint the effects of an educational environment based on gamification on developing achievement motivation among first-grade intermediate students. Using an achievement motivation scale, the study adopted a quasi-experimental design with experimental and control groups. The sample consisted of 52 students selected randomly from the first-grade intermediate students. They were studying in public intermediate schools in Jeddah at the time of this study. They were divided into two groups. The control group (n=24 respondent), and the experimental group (n=28 respondent). The results showed statistically significant differences at the level α ≥ 0.05 between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the posttest of the achievement motivation measurement in favor of the experimental group. The study recommended using gamification in designing computer curricula and courses across educational stages in Saudi Arabia. It also recommends training the computer and information technology teachers on using gamification in their teaching.

The purpose of this study were to identify the importance of father’s roles on children. A survey was carried out on 458(227 boys and 231 girls) 6th-graders at randomly chosen 4 elementary schools in Kwangju. Frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation and Pearson’s coefficient were checked and one-way ANOVA, Duncan’s multiple range test and multiple regression analysis were also carried out on the collected data. The results were as follows; 1. Evaluation of fathers’role performance depending on background variables ranged from 46.17 to 58.51 points(equivalent to 61.56∼78.01 points in the 100-point scale). Background variables that caused statistically significant difference were children’s sex, fathers’religion (whether they had one or not) fathers’education, monthly family income and decision-makers at home. The degrees of fathers’role performance were higher when the answerers were girls, when fathers had religions, when fathers educational level was higher, when the family income was higher, and when all family members participated in the decision-making. 2. Evaluation of children’s achievement motivation depending on background variables ranged from 77.17 to 84.34 points( equivalent to 68.90∼75.35 points in the 100-point scale). Background variables that caused statistically significant differences were children∼s sex and decision-makers at home. Children∼s achievement motivation were higher in the case of girls and when all family members participated in the decision-making. 3. When it comes to the children’s achievement motivation in relation to father’s role performance, 1)The overall aspect of fathers’ role performance caused significant differences in children’s achievement motivation. 2) The influence of fathers’role performance on children’s achievement motivation was highest in the investigation-faciliator role (${\beta}$=2.5) and then the economic role (${\beta}$=.14) and the valuetransmitter role (${\beta}$=.14). The explanative power of these variables was 22%.

The study subjects were 144 early childhood education freshmen at K-college in Deagu. They answered the survey regarding academic self-efficacy scale, VIA-IS(Values in action inventory of strength) short form scale, school learning motivation scale. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 18.0 program. The study finding are as follows. First, the average of academic self-efficacy, character strength and learning motivation of students were near at the intermediate-level. Second, academic self-efficacy, character strength and learning motivation were significantly positive correlated. Third, when examining the relative effect of early childhood education freshmen's academic self-efficacy and character strength on learning motivation, self regulatory efficacy among the sub-factors for academic self-efficacy and courage among the sub-factors for character strengths.
Objective : In this study, the rehabilitation motivation evaluation tool for stroke patients was identified, and the characteristics of the evaluation tool were analyzed to analyze the conceptual framework and characteristics used in the composition of the evaluation contents. Methods : From 2000 to May 2022, documents registered in major domestic and foreign databases (PubMed, NDSL, Medline, and EMbase) were searched and selected according to the selection and exclusion criteria. The evaluation tools used in the selected documents were analyzed, and the characteristics of this evaluation tool were analyzed. Results : A total of 30 documents were selected, and they were classified into a total of five rehabilitation motivation evaluation tools. The most widely used in Korea was the measurement tool for rehabilitation motivation for the disabled, and the most widely used overseas was the intrinsic motivation inventory. Three evaluation tools constructed the evaluation contents based on the self-determination theory, and two constructed the evaluation contents through expert agreement. The number of evaluation items and 8 to 45 items were varied, and the evaluation scale was also used in various ways from 4 to 7 point scale. Conclusion : It was possible to identify the evaluation tools mainly used for the evaluation of rehabilitation motivation, and to identify the main conceptual framework based on the development of the rehabilitation motivation evaluation tool. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for research on the development of rehabilitation motivation evaluation tools for stroke patients in the future.
The purpose of this study is to investigate motivation to learn physics in order to understand engineering college students' physics learning. Therefore, in this study, 374 engineering students at the university located in Seoul were studied using the Physics Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ), which was a Science Motivation Questionnaire II modified into the context of learning physics. The PMQ is composed of five factors: intrinsic motivation, career motivation, self-determination, self-efficacy, and grade motivation. It involves 25 Likert scale items. Through exploratory factor analysis, PMQ confirms that the five factors are structurally valid in measuring the motivation of engineering students to learn physics. In addition, item fit (MNSQ) was also confirmed using a Rasch model analysis. The results show that grade motivation has the highest mean with 4.2, followed by job motivation mean with 3.76. The mean of intrinsic motivation was 3.42, the self-efficacy was 3.38, and self-determination was 3.32. The results of this study confirm that the physics learning motivation of engineering college students is characterized showing high external motivation related to job and grade. Therefore, we should try to develop the teaching strategy to increase intrinsic motivation by developing mastery goal orientation of physics learning for engineering students.
Purpose: This study examined whether the motivation for rehabilitation influences the functional performance of stroke patients. Methods: To elucidate the same, correlation analysis between the 'rehabilitation motivation level' and 'functional performance improvement' was performed. Thirty-three stroke patients, who were hospitalized in rehabilitation and nursing hospitals, were enrolled in this study. Functional performance was assessed using the 10MWT, FRT, and the BBS. Statistical analysis was performed to determine the correlation between the reactivation symptoms and rehabilitation therapy at four weeks, eight weeks, and 12 weeks. Results: The results showed a significant correlation between the reactivation symptoms and rehabilitation therapy, as evidenced by the 10MWT, FRT, and BBS (8-12 weeks 10M gait test, Berg balance scale for 4-8 weeks, and 8-12 weeks). The FRT did not reveal any significant correlation between the rehabilitation program and reactivation. Conclusion: The present study confirmed that a higher motivation for rehabilitation in stroke patients resulting in a higher likelihood of it acting as a factor in improving their functional ability. Based on the above-mentioned results, this study suggests that a rehabilitation program could be considered for the motivation of patients to participate in a rehabilitation program.
