  • Many researches had been gone about method to track moving object using wireless sensor network. We examined tradeoffs that exist between quantity of energy and correctness of tracking, and we confirmed that can get more energy sayings through improved motion prediction method. The consumed energy in the tracking is used by sensor node for sensing the object, and tracking correctness is a differ once of actual object position from calculated value by sensing. Some tracking methods and controlling parameters causes a variation of tracking correctness and energy consuming, we can get best energy effectiveness by motion prediction algorithm. Furthermore, we get better tracking quality and energy effectiveness through using a motion prediction algorithm that consider acceleration. By the simulation, we know that if we use an accurate motion prediction algorithm, node activation range that is used for target's predicted position should be restricted to sensing range of sensor is better.

  • In this study, we have proposed the tracking system of single moving object. The tracking system was estimated motion using differential image, and than track the moving object by controlled Pan/Tilt device of camera. Proposed tracking system is devided into image acquisition and preprocessing phase, motion estimation phase and object tracking phase. To estimation the motion, differential image method was used. In the binary differential image, decision of threshold value was used adaptive method. And in grouping the object area, block_based recursive labeling algorithm was used. As a result of experiment, motion of moving object can be estimated. The result of tracking, object was not lost and object was tracked correctly.

  • Precision livestock monitoring promises greater management efficiency for farmers and higher welfare standards for animals. Recent studies on video-based animal activity recognition and tracking have shown promising solutions for understanding animal behavior. To achieve that, surveillance cameras are installed diagonally above the barn in a typical cattle farm setup to monitor animals constantly. Under these circumstances, tracking individuals requires addressing challenges such as occlusion and visual appearance, which are the main reasons for track breakage and increased misidentification of animals. This paper presents a framework for multi-cattle tracking in closed barns with appearance and motion models. To overcome the above challenges, we modify the DeepSORT algorithm to achieve higher tracking accuracy by three contributions. First, we reduce the weight of appearance information. Second, we use an Ensemble Kalman Filter to predict the random motion information of cattle. Third, we propose a supplementary matching algorithm that compares the absolute cattle position in the barn to reassign lost tracks. The main idea of the matching algorithm assumes that the number of cattle is fixed in the barn, so the edge of the barn is where new trajectories are most likely to emerge. Experimental results are performed on our dataset collected on two cattle farms. Our algorithm achieves 70.37%, 77.39%, and 81.74% performance on HOTA, AssA, and IDF1, representing an improvement of 1.53%, 4.17%, and 0.96%, respectively, compared to the original method.

  • A vehicle cruise control algorithm using an Interacting Multiple Model (IMM)-based Multi-Target Tracking (MTT) method has been presented in this paper. The vehicle cruise control algorithm consists of three parts; track estimator using IMM-Probabilistic Data Association Filter (PDAF), a primary target vehicle determination algorithm and a single-target adaptive cruise control algorithm. Three motion models; uniform motion, lane-change motion and acceleration motion. have been adopted to distinguish large lateral motions from longitudinal motions. The models have been validated using simulated and experimental data. The improvement in the state estimation performance when using three models is verified in target tracking simulations. The performance and safety benefits of a multi-model-based MTT-ACC system is investigated via simulations using real driving radar sensor data. These simulations show system response that is more realistic and reflective of actual human driving behavior.

  • A non-invasive respiratory gated radiotherapy system like those based on external anatomic motion gives better comfortableness to patients than invasive system on treatment. However, higher correlation between the external and internal anatomic motion is required to increase the effectiveness of non-invasive respiratory gated radiotherapy. Both of invasive and non-invasive methods need to track the internal anatomy with the higher precision and rapid response. Especially, the non-invasive method has more difficulty to track the target position successively because of using only image processing. So we developed the system to track the motion for a non-invasive respiratory gated system to accurately find the dynamic position of internal structures such as the diaphragm and tumor. The respiratory organ motion tracking apparatus consists of an image capture board, a fluoroscopy system and a processing computer. After the image board grabs the motion of internal anatomy through the fluoroscopy system, the computer acquires the organ motion tracking data by image processing without any additional physical markers. The patients breathe freely without any forced breath control and coaching, when this experiment was performed. The developed pattern-recognition software could extract the target motion signal in real-time from the acquired fluoroscopic images. The range of mean deviations between the real and acquired target positions was measured for some sample structures in an anatomical model phantom. The mean and max deviation between the real and acquired positions were less than 1mm and 2mm respectively with the standardized movement using a moving stage and an anatomical model phantom. Under the real human body, the mean and maximum distance of the peak to trough was measured 23.5mm and 55.1mm respectively for 13 patients' diaphragm motion. The acquired respiration profile showed that human expiration period was longer than the inspiration period. The above results could be applied to respiratory-gated radiotherapy.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel motion recognition platform using smart-phone tracking and color communication. The interface requires only a camera and a personal smart-phone to provide a motion control interface rather than expensive equipment. The platform recognizes the user's gestures by the tracking 3D distance and the rotation angle of the smart-phone, which acts essentially as a motion controller in the user's hand. Also, a color coded communication method using RGB color combinations is included within the interface. Users can conveniently send or receive any text data through this function, and the data can be transferred continuously even while the user is performing gestures. We present the result that implementation of viable contents based on the proposed motion recognition platform.

  • As radiotherapy has become one of the widely used techniques in cancer treatment, accurate tracking of patient's respiratory motion is considered to be more important in treatment planning and dose calculations. Inaccurate motion tracking can cause severe issues such as errors in target/normal tissue delineation and increasing the volume of healthy tissues exposed to high doses. Different methods have been introduced to estimate the respiratory motion, but most of them require some electronic devices or expensive materials. As an inexpensive and easy to use alternative to the previous methods, we propose a new 3D respiratory motion tracking method by using stereo vision techniques of detecting and decoding visual coded markers.

  • Obtaining the complete trajectory of the object is a very important task in computer vision applications, such as video surveillance. Previous studies to recover the trajectory between two disconnected trajectory segments, however, do not takes into account the object's motion characteristics and uncertainty of trajectory segments. In this paper, we present a novel approach to recover the trajectory between two disjoint but associated trajectory segments, called goal-directed tracking. To incorporate the object's motion characteristics and uncertainty, the goal-directed state equation is first introduced. Then the goal-directed tracking framework is constructed by integrating the equation to the object tracking and trajectory linking process pipeline. Evaluation on challenging dataset demonstrates that proposed method can accurately recover the missing trajectory between two disconnected trajectory segments as well as appropriately constrain a motion of the object to the its goal(or the target state) with uncertainty.

  • RGB-thermal (RGB-T) tracking using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) involves challenges with regards to the similarity of objects, occlusion, fast motion, and motion blur, among other issues. In this study, we propose dynamic tracking aggregation (DTA) as a unified framework to perform object detection and data association. The proposed approach obtains fused features based a transformer model and an L1-norm strategy. To link the current frame with recent information, a dynamically updated embedding called dynamic tracking identification (DTID) is used to model the iterative tracking process. For object association, we designed a long short-term tracking aggregation module for dynamic feature propagation to match spatial and temporal embeddings. DTA achieved a highly competitive performance in an experimental evaluation on public benchmark datasets.
