교사와 어머니의 문해신념, 그림책에 대한 인식 및 읽기활동 빈도가 유아와의 그림책 읽기 상호작용에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mothers' and Teachers' Literacy Beliefs, Perception of Picture Books, and Frequency of Reading Activities on the Interaction for Reading Picture Books with Preschoolers)

  • 이 연구는 교사와 어머니의 문해신념, 그림책에 대한 인식과 읽기활동 빈도에 차이가 있는지 알아보고, 이 변인들이 유아와의 그림책 읽기 상호작용에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 수행되었다. 경기, 인천의 유치원과 어린이집 교사 120명과 만 5세 유아의 어머니들 168명을 대상으로 실시한 조사의 결과는 다음과 같다. 교사가 어머니에 비해 총체적 언어신념에 더 가까운 문해신념을 보였다. 교사와 어머니 모두 그림책 읽어주기의 필요성을 강하게 인식하여 서로 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그림책 읽어주기의 즐거움과 이점은 교사가 어머니 보다 더 많다고 인식하였다. 그림책을 선정할 때, 어머니는 유아의 발달 수준, 개별적 상황, 일상생활의 반영을, 교사는 책의 판매량을 중시하였다. 교사가 어머니보다 유아와의 읽기활동을 더 많이 하나, 어머니가 교사에 비해 유아와 더 풍부한 책읽기 상호작용을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 교사와 어머니 모두 읽기활동 빈도와 그림책 읽어주기의 이점 인식이 유아와의 그림책 읽기 상호작용에 영향을 미쳤다.

유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 성인애착과 삶의 만족도가 애정적-거부적 양육행동에 미치는 영향 (The effects of adult attachment and satisfaction with life on affection-rejection parenting in preschoolers' mothers)

  • 타인과 긴밀한 정서적 유대감을 가지려는 인간 성향인 애착은 내적작동모델로 기능하면서 타인과의 상호작용의 질을 결정하는 요인으로 보고되고 있다. 따라서 어머니의 성인애착은 자녀와의 상호작용인 양육행동에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 어머니의 만족도 역시 긍정적 심리 요인으로 기능하면서 양육행동에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 그러나 어머니의 애착인 성인애착이, 그리고 삶의 질을 반영하는 삶의 만족도가 양육행동 중 애정적 양육행동에 더 민감한 영향을 미치는지 또는 거부적 양육행동에 더 영향을 미치는지에 관해서는 충분한 정보가 부족한 실정이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 다음과 같은 연구문제를 통해 어머니의 성인애착과 삶의 만족도가 애정적 또는 거부적 양육행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 첫째, 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 성인애착과 삶의 만족도는 애정적-거부적 양육행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는가? 둘째, 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 애정적-거부적 양육행동에 대한 성인애착과 삶의 만족도의 상대적 영향력은 어떠한가? 이를 위해 대구경북지역내 유아교육기관에 다니는 만 3, 4, 5세 유아의 어머니 331명을 연구대상으로 질문지 조사를 통해 자료수집하였으며 SPSS PC(15.0 version)프로그램의 단순 및 표준적 중회귀분석을 통해 유의수준 .05미만에서 자료분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 애정적 양육행동은 성인애착이 높을수록, 삶의 만족도가 높을수록 높게 나타났다. 반면 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 거부적 양육행동은 성인애착이 낮을 때, 삶의 만족도가 낮을 때 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 애정적 양육행동에 대한 성인애착과 삶의 만족도의 설명력은 성인애착이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 거부적 양육행동 역시 삶의 만족도보다 성인애착에 의해 보다 높게 나타났다. 이는 애정적 또는 거부적 양육행동에 있어 어머니의 성인애착이 삶의 만족도보다 더 영향력 있음을 시사하는 것이다. 이와 같은 연구 결과 외에 중요하게 고려해야 하는 것은 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 성인애착과 삶의 만족도는 애정적 양육행동보다 거부적 양육행동을 설명하는 힘이 더 크다는 것이다. 이는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 애정적 양육행동을 높이기보다 거부적 양육행동을 예방하기 위해 성인애착과 삶의 만족도에 보다 더 많은 관심을 가질 필요가 있음을 시사하는 것이다.

가정 내 혼란이 유아의 공격성과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향: 수면문제와 실행기능의 매개효과 (Effects of Household Chaos on Preschoolers' Aggression and Prosocial Behavior: Sleep Problems and Executive Function as Mediators)

  • Household chaos, represented by high levels of disorganization and instability in the home, has been linked with suboptimal outcomes for preschoolers. The aim of this study was to examine the roles that sleep problems and executive function play in the association between household chaos and preschoolers' aggression and prosocial behavior. The sample for the study consisted of 420 preschoolers and their mothers. The mothers provided reports on the level of chaos in the home and their preschoolers' sleep problems, executive function, and social behavior, including aggression and prosocial behavior. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. When preschoolers' sleep problems and executive function were included in the model as mediators, the results indicated that household chaos did not have direct effects on preschoolers' aggression and prosocial behavior. Such effects were instead serially mediated by preschoolers' sleep problems and executive function, respectively. The higher the degree of household chaos, the more preschoolers displayed sleep problems and deficits in executive function, resulting in more aggression and less prosocial behavior. The findings from this study emphasize the significance of reducing household chaos in order to reduce preschoolers' aggression and promote prosocial behavior. They also underscore the need to identify additional variables that mediate the impact of household chaos on preschoolers' social outcomes.

만 4세 유아의 애착 안정성과 놀이성이 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향 (Exploring the Effects of Attachment Security and Playfulness on Social Competence among 4-year-old Preschool Children)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine relations among attachment security, playfulness, and social competence during the preschool period and to investigate relative effects of attachment security and playfulness on preschoolers' social competence. A total of forty eight 4-year-old preschool children participated in the current study. Attachment security was assessed using the Attachment Q-sort during a two- or two and half hour home visit. Preschoolers' playfulness and social competence were evaluated by mothers. First, preschoolers' attachment security was significantly associated with their interpersonal adjustment. Preschoolers with secure attachment were rated by their mothers as having higher interpersonal adjustment. In addition, preschoolers' playfulness was significantly related to popularity/leadership and social participation. Second, when preschoolers' attachment security and playfulness were entered together to predict social competence, attachment security and sense of humor were significant predictors of preschoolers' interpersonal adjustment, and social and cognitive spontaneity significantly predicted popularity/leadership. With respect to social participation, preschoolers' physical spontaneity was a significant predictor. Findings of this study indicate that attachment security and playfulness tap into different aspects of social competence, suggesting that both are needed to be emphasized in the development of social competence during the preschool period.

어머니의 반영기능과 유아의 상위수준 사고 간의 관계에서 유아의 실행기능과 반사실적 사고의 순차적 이중매개효과 (Serial Dual Mediating Effects of Preschoolers' Executive Functions and Counterfactual Thinking on Relationship between Maternal Reflective Functioning and Preschoolers' Higher-order Thinking)

  • This study examined the dual mediating effects of preschoolers' executive function and counterfactual thinking in the relationship between maternal reflective functioning and preschoolers' higher-order thinking. Participants included 293 preschoolers and their mothers in Daegu city and Gyeongsang province. The mothers completed questionnaires regarding their reflective functioning, preschoolers' executive function, and creative thinking. Teachers completed questionnaires regarding preschoolers' critical thinking and caring thinking. Preschoolers' counterfactual thinking was measured by interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis with SPSS 25.0. Path analysis and bootstrapping were used with AMOS 25.0 program. Also, specific indirect effect were analyzed using AMOS user-defined estimand function. The primary results of this study are as follows. Maternal reflective functioning had an indirect effect on preschoolers' critical thinking and caring thinking through preschoolers' executive function and counterfactual thinking; however, maternal reflective functioning had no indirect effect on preschoolers' creative thinking through preschoolers' executive function and counterfactual thinking. This study revealed that maternal reflective functioning and preschoolers' executive function and counterfactual thinking need to be considered simultaneously to explain the level of preschoolers' higher-order thinking. The results highlight the dual mediating effects of preschoolers' executive function and counterfactual thinking in the relationship between maternal reflective functioning and preschoolers' higher-order thinking.

연장근로에 따른 아동돌봄 형태와 일 가족 갈등: 초등학생 이하 자녀를 둔 취업모를 중심으로 (Variations in Childcare Style and Work-Family Conflict Related to Extended Working Hours: Focusing on Employed Mothers of Preschoolers or Elementary-School Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether employed mothers' extended working hours have effects on childcare style and work-family conflicts. The data came from the 2007 Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family(KLoWF) of the Korean Women's Development Institute. 475 females with preschoolers or elementary-school children were used in this study. The major findings can be summarized as follows: (1) Weekly average working hours varied by education, salary, and the presence of preschoolers. (2) The time of childcare was significantly shorter in mothers who work more than 50 hours/week (3) Mothers who worked more than 50 hours/week felt significantly high work-family conflict. These analyses pointed to the importance of obeying the law related to working hours as the most important thing to sustain work-family balance. Institutional foundations should be enabled to keep legal working hours.

학령전기 아동의 특성에 따른 건강관리 실태 (Health Care Management Status of Pre Schoolers Depending on the Children's Characteristics)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the health care management status of preschoolers depending on the children's characteristics. Methods: The sample of this study were 212 mothers of preschoolers attending Child Care Centers in three cities, Seoul, Daejon, and Suwon, in Korea. A self administered questionnaire developed by investigators was used to collect data from September 15 to October 31, 2002. Data was analyzed with SPSS 11.5 Win program. Results: 5.7% of the children had not completed their vaccination programs. Children who were second or later birth order showed less complete vaccination rates than firstborn babies. Children who had working mothers showed less complete vaccination rates than those whose mothers did not work. Among the various vaccinations, the DPT and MMR booster vaccination rates were the lowest. Home safety scores were higher when mothers have younger children. higher monthly incomes and reside in apartment type houses. Forty one(41%) of the preschoolers experienced accidents, and the accident rate was higher in boys and children with easy temperament. The most frequently experienced accident was laceration. Twenty eight point eight percent(28.8%) of the children experienced hospitalization because of various diseases. Most of the mothers perceived their children healthy. However, children who were second or third born were perceived less as healthy. Children in families with less monthly income were perceived as less healthy. Conclusions: This study provided basic data about preschoolers' health care management status focusing on vaccinations and accident rates. More attention should be paid to preschoolers' health and safety. Related factors found in this study should be considered when providing anticipatory guidance for parents.

유아의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모의 정서반응과 유아의 정서지식 및 정서반응 - 저소득층 유아와 중류층 유아의 비교 - (Parents' Emotional Reactions to Preschoolers' Negative Emotions, Emotional Knowledge, and Emotional Reaction: A Comparison Between Low-income and Middle-income Preschoolers)

  • This study investigated preschoolers' emotional knowledge, emotional reactions and parents' emotinal reactions to children's negative emotions according to their family income and sex. Subjects were 99 five-year-olds(46 low-income preschoolers, 53 middle-income preschoolers) recruited from three day-care centers and a kindergarten in Seoul and their parents. Each child was individually interviewed with pictorial tasks and parents reported on their own reactions by questionnaires. Results showed that low-income preschoolers were lower than middle-income preschoolers in emotional knowledge. Low-income preschoolers showed higher level of perceptions of the peer's anger in emotional reactions than middle-income preschoolers. Low-income mothers also were more likely than middle income mothers to show punitive reaction in parents' emotional reactions.

다문화가정 어머니의 한국어능력과 유아기 자녀의 언어발달 (Mothers' Korean Language Ability and Preschoolers' Language Development in Multi-cultural Families)

  • Relationships between immigrant mothers' Korean language ability and preschoolers' language development in multi-cultural families were studied with 91 mothers and their children. Language capacity of mothers and children was measured by receptive and expressive vocabulary test, sentence comprehension test and two kinds of reading tests. Results showed that mothers' level of comprehension was relatively low but their reading ability was higher than that of elementary school first-grade Korean students. Comprehension of children in multi-cultural families with non-immigrant counterparts showed a lower level of language ability. Mother's level of expressive vocabulary, receptive vocabulary and reading ability correlated with children's language development. These results indicate a relationship between children's delayed language development in multi-cultural families and mother's low proficiency in Korean language.

영유아기의 탁아 경험과 유아의 부모에 대한 애착 및 사회정서적 문제행동과의 관계 (Relationships between Young Children's Day Care Experience and Their Attachment Relationships with Parents and Socioemotional Behavior Problems)

  • The purpose of the current study was to determine whether preschoolers' attachment relationships with their parents and socioemotional behaviors are related to their day care experiences in infancy and at the present time. The participants consisted of 59 preschoolers and their mothers from 2-parent, white, middle-class dual earner families in Madison, Wisconsin. Preschoolers' attachment quality was measured by two representational instruments: the Separation Anxiety Test and "My Family and Friends". Mothers completed questionnaires about their family background and their children's day care history. The quality of current day care was obtained from directors' reports about regulatable features of the day care centers. Teachers completed the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire. Data was analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the quality of preschoolers' attachment relationships with parents were significantly related to the amount of day care during infancy, the quality of current care, and children's gender. In addition, the amount of infant day care appeared to have negative relations with children's socioemotional behavior problems as evaluated by teachers.
