  • Long term measurement data on the bridge response caused by moving loads are fundamental ingredient to the development or improvement of the new bridge design. In addition, proper establishment of the systematic analysis and diagnosis together with the maintenance system become the essential procedure to the effective repair/reinforcement/retrofit of not only the high speed but also the conventional railway bridges. Therefore, the real time health monitoring system on the important railway bridges should be enhancing the proper maintenance of the structures. The main objective of this study is, therefore, to develop a monitoring device including Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) function and the emphasis is place on the easy and economic installation of the developed system in the field condition.

  • Recently, the importance of plant maintenance(PM) was highly raised to provide efficient plant operation which highly affects the productivity. For this reason, a number of engineering methodologies, such as riskbased inspection(RBI), fitness for service guidelines(FFS), plant lifecycle management(PLM), have been applied to improve the plant operation efficiency. Also, a network-based business operation system, which is called ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning), has been introduced in the field of plant maintenance. However, there was no attempt to connect engineering methodologies to the ERP PM system. In this paper, a knowledge-based information system for the plant operation of steel making company has been proposed. This system, which is named as K-VRS(Knowledge-based Virtual Reality System), provides a connection between ERP plant maintenance module and knowledge-based engineering methodologies, and thus, enables network-based highly effective plant maintenance process. The developed system is expected to play a great role for more efficient and safer plant maintenance.

  • Condition monitoring technology was applied for an air compressor lubricating system to achieve a proactive maintenance, which could prevent a catastrophic failure and detect root causes of the conditional failure of the system. For this work, various types of wear monitoring technology were used and compared with the results of vibration and temperature measurements. Results generally showed that every technology has a limitation to failure detection, and integrated-based condition monitoring should be performed for the best results. In this work, an idea for the implementing integrated wear monitoring was suggested and demonstrated.

  • In 1990, Korea building contractors were indifferent maintenance management cause focus on completion of construction before construction collapsed. Currently, structures monitoring systems are restrictive on large structures. Structures monitoring systems are limited many old and small structures in the whole nation. Recently, we make efforts application Ubiquitous technology as like sensor, sensor network system, and wireless communication system in construction. This paper applies bridge management system using Ubiquitous skill which is real-time monitoring report offering system.

  • 국내 소규모(50kW 이하)를 포함한 태양광발전 설치 업체의 급격한 증가에 따른 발전 설치양은 증가하고 있으나 이에 대한 효율적 운영체계 및 관리가 미흡한 상황이다. 따라서 발전단가의 증가를 초래하는 부가적인 기능 보다는 현 상태에서 발전량을 최대화시키기 위한 유지보수 관리측면으로 새로운 형태의 운영체계가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 태양광 발전소의 운영효율 극대화를 위해 Big Data와 센서 네트워크를 활용하며 전문가 시스템의 분석을 통해 발전량 예측기술, 모듈 단위 고장검출 기술개발, 인버터 구성요소의 수명 예지 및 Report 기술, 유지보수 최적화 알고리즘 및 경제성 분석 개발 등 태양광 발전소의 최적 운용이 가능하도록 하는 스마트 모니터링 시스템 개발에 목적을 두고 있다.

Wireless structural health monitoring of stay cables under two consecutive typhoons

  • This study has been motivated to examine the performance of a wireless sensor system under the typhoons as well as to analyze the effect of the typhoons on the bridge's vibration responses and the variation of cable forces. During the long-term field experiment on a real cable-stayed bridge in years 2011-2012, the bridge had experienced two consecutive typhoons, Bolaven and Tembin, and the wireless sensor system had recorded data of wind speeds and vibration responses from a few survived sensor nodes. In this paper, the wireless structural health monitoring of stay cables under the two consecutive typhoons is presented. Firstly, the wireless monitoring system for cable-stayed bridge is described. Multi-scale vibration sensor nodes are utilized to measure both acceleration and PZT dynamic strain from stay cables. Also, cable forces are estimated by a tension force monitoring software based on vibration properties. Secondly, the cable-stayed bridge with the wireless monitoring system is described and its wireless monitoring capacities for deck and cables are evaluated. Finally, the structural health monitoring of stay cables under the attack of the two typhoons is described. Wind-induced deck vibration, cable vibration and cable force variation are examined based on the field measurements in the cable-stayed bridge under the two consecutive typhoons.

광섬유센서를 이용한 쓰레기 이송관로의 장기 계측시스템 구축을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study for Establishment of Long-term Monitoring System using Fiber Optical Sensor for Pipeline System for Waste Transportation)

  • 최근 지속적으로 증가하는 생활폐기물의 배출과 처리가 사회적인 문제로 대두됨에 따라 새로운 폐기물의 수거 및 운반방식으로 쓰레기 이송관로시스템이 최근 부각되고 있다. 이러한 이송관로시스템은 긴 연장을 갖기 때문에 이송관로에 문제가 발생할 경우 즉각적으로 해당 위치를 파악하여 조치할 수 있는 적절한 장기계측시스템을 적용하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 FBG 광섬유 변형률 센서를 이용한 계측시스템의 적용성을 검토하고, 이를 이용한 최적의 계측시스템을 도출할 수 있는 자료를 확보하기 위한 실험적 연구로서, 이송관로에 발생할 수 있는 대표적인 손상유형으로 압력누출, 관로변형 및 관로폐색의 3가지 현상을 실제규모의 모형 이송관로실험체에 모사한 후 관로에 설치된 FBG센서로부터 응답을 측정하였다. 실험결과를 바탕으로 실험변수로 적용한 각각의 손상유형에 따른 효과적인 센서설치 방법과 배치방법을 도출하였다. 특히 관로변형실험 결과는 변형발생지점으로부터의 센서와의 거리에 따른 응답 상관관계를 통해 센서배치간격을 산출하여 FBG센서를 이용한 계측설계를 수행하였다.
