Recently, research for machining next-generation micro semiconductor processes and micro patterns has been actively conducted. In particular, it is applied to various industrial fields depending on the machining method in the case of FIB (Focused ion beam) milling. In this study, intends to deal with FIB milling machining technology for ultra-precision diamond tool fabrication technology. Ultra-precision diamond tools require nano-scale precision, and FIB milling is a useful method for nano-scale precision machining. However, FIB milling has a problem of Gaussian characteristics that are differently formed according to the beam current due to the input of an ion beam source, and there are process conditions to be considered, such as a side clearance angle problem of a diamond tool that is differently formed according to the tilting angle. A series of process steps for fabrication a ultra-precision diamond tool were studied and analyzed for each process. It was confirmed that the effect on the fabrication process was large depending on the spot size of the beam and the current of the beam as a result of the experimental analysis.

In this study, an optical PCB was proposed which can overcome the limitations of the conventional PCB, and a new structure with pluggable lens was considered for a high-efficient passive alignment. The structure was a lens-added optical waveguide for the improvement of misalignment between the lens and the waveguide in the alignment. Also, as it had a barrier-type structure to prevent the surface damage of the lens by desorption, the high-efficient passive alignment can be realized. The structure was designed by optimizing the simulation and the fabrication process of the pluggable lens structure was conducted using the repetitive photolithography and the thermal reflow. The optical waveguide with the lens-integrated pluggable interconnection was fabricated by the imprint process using the polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) replica mold. Therefore, we confirmed the possibility of pluggable lens-added optical waveguide structure fabrication for high-efficient passive alignment.

Liquid silicone rubber (LSR) has been widely used in automotive, electrical, and medical components. Thus, research on the use of LSR in the injection molding process is required to obtain high-quality and high-performance products. In this study, a mold was fabricated to examine the effects of the process parameters on the molding and mechanical properties of LSR parts. A computer-aided engineering analysis was used to optimize the air vent depth and curing temperature to decrease the flash at the air vents caused by the low viscosity of LSR. Temperature and pressure sensors were mounted in the mold to determine the effects of the process parameters on the temperature and pressure in the cavity. The tensile strength of the LSR parts was also examined in relation to the process parameters.

3-Dimensional System in Package (3-D SiP) structure (Amkor calls it mPossum-molded Possum) using double side Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and double side molding was evaluated in order to achieve small/thin form factor as well as good functionality by integration and double side layout. As the new platform on laminate substrate basis, molding process was challenge in mold flow balance at top and bottom side and package warpage control over the overall assembly process. There were two types of different molding process evaluated with 1) 1-step molding which was done at both side at the same time and 2) 2-step molding which was done at the conventional molding process twice. Mold simulation helped to narrow down the material selections and parameters available before actual sample build. There were many challenges for this first trial in design/ parameter and material types but optimized them to enable this structure.
Non-pneumatic wheels have been widely used instead of general tube type wheels beause of many reasons, for example, wheel size, price restriction, heavy-duty problem and so on. Almost small size wheels or casters were non-pneumatic type but structural stability was not certified. This paper presents a double structured non-pneumatic wheel, called "smart caster", which consisted with inner and outer wheels connected by chips, and finite element analysis processes were conducted in order to determine important dwsign factors before actual design for mass production. For structural analysis ABAQUS was used under various boundary conditions with incrementally varied loads until 2,000N. Then structural staility was evaluated according to varied loads below ultimate stress. Generally stresses were concentrated at the lower parts of the wheel, and especially contact parts between wheel and ground. In addition, maximum stress appeared at contact parts between the wheel lower part and chips.

In this study, the casting/forging process was applied in manufacturing a low control arm, in order to prove that application of casting/forging process to Al6061 is likely to get the effect of light weight compared with existing steel products and to reduce the cost of materials. Firstly, In order to set up the optimum casting condition of the forging material, Al6061, casting experiments were carried out by controlling pouring temperature of the aluminum for casting, mold temperature, and pouring time. $700^{\circ}C$ pouring temperature, $300^{\circ}C$ mold temperature and 10-second pouring time were taken into account as the optimum casting conditions. With respect to a hot forging test, it is practiced on the basis of a temperature of materials, strain rate, and reduction rate so as to observe each microstructure and examine strain-stress curve simultaneously; examine tensile test and hardness test; eventually set up the optimum hot forging condition. A hot forging test, tensile test, hardness experiment, and microstructure observation were carried out on condition of $70\%$ reduction rate, $500^{\circ}C$ temperature of materials, and 1 strain rate. As a result of those experiments, 330MPa tensile strength, $16.4\%$ elongation, and 122.8Hv hardness were recorded. In oder to get a sound preform which has no unfitting cavity and less flash, two preforms were proposed on the basis of volume rate of the final product; the optimum volume rate of preform for the low control arm was $115\%$. In conclusion, it is confirmed that using the forging material rather than casting materials in casting/forging process is likely to get more superior mechanical properties. Compared with Al6061, performed by means of general forging, moreover, cast/forged Al6061 can not only stimulate productivity by reducing production processes, but cut down the cost of materials by reusing forging scraps.

Objective : The prefabrication of customized cranioplastic implants has been introduced to overcome the difficulties of intra-operative implant molding. The authors present a new technique, which consists of the prefabrication of implant molds using three-dimensional (3D) printers and polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) casting. Methods : A total of 16 patients with large skull defects (>100 $cm^2$) underwent cranioplasty between November 2009 and April 2011. For unilateral cranial defects, 3D images of the skull were obtained from preoperative axial 1-mm spiral computed tomography (CT) scans. The image of the implant was generated by a digital subtraction mirror-imaging process using the normal side of the cranium as a model. For bilateral cranial defects, precraniectomy routine spiral CT scan data were merged with postcraniectomy 3D CT images following a smoothing process. Prefabrication of the mold was performed by the 3D printer. Intraoperatively, the PMMA implant was created with the prefabricated mold, and fit into the cranial defect. Results : The median operation time was $184.36{\pm}26.07$ minutes. Postoperative CT scans showed excellent restoration of the symmetrical contours and curvature of the cranium in all cases. The median follow-up period was 23 months (range, 14-28 months). Postoperative infection was developed in one case (6.2%) who had an open wound defect previously. Conclusion : Customized cranioplasty PMMA implants using 3D printer may be a useful technique for the reconstruction of various cranial defects.
This study is making a product for the development of one process worm wheel of making a shape for gear for worm wheel without hobbing manufacturing process. Because of removing a hobbing process, plastic worm wheel for increased productivity and equivalent quality is produced in the result. The technology protection for molding of worm whee is currently patent process "Molding process of helical gear(No. 10-2008-0105908). Further patent procedure for "molding system for positioning decision of inserting boss is currently prepared. As gear molding procedure in hobbing machine without gear machining procedure, most of all, core development technology which is making a gear tooth is main topic. So that, in case of currently developed worm wheel, because core and mold base are not developed in the first procedure, gear is machining in hobbing M/C as the second procedure. In the later, patent for mold base structure will be prepared in this study results.
Electrical equipment in factories, buildings, etc. with the development of the industry has become a large capacity. By the development, electric load also become diversified and there is also highly functional requirements being electrical equipment. Particularly in the small and medium-sized circuit breakers, tend to preferentially consider the economy stands out and improvements in safety, ease of mounting and connection through the modularity of the basic dimensions compact and cost to block expansion of the scope of the development of capacity, etc. The product having a competitive has been strongly required. In order to implement the circuit breakers of breaking capacity and compact at the same time taking into account the economic development of this technology applied to the current-limiting mechanism is essential budget or the current limiting mechanism is currently available mechanisms applicable to small and medium-sized frame (frame) can not do it. In this paper, at the same time satisfying the economic efficiency, by minimizing the load force of the moving contactor (moving contactor) to be applied to small and medium frame other hand to secure the economical efficiency without using high speed contact parting acceleration of the moving contactor conventional current-limiting mechanism, and to develop a current-limiting mechanism that can be satisfied with the same or higher performance to meet the needs of the market.
Casting process includes wax pattern, investment, dewaxing, curing, casting, etc., and each single process is important to achieve a good result. Since 2000, 3D printers have been developed and widely used; as more prefer UV Curavle resin method over wax method, resultant casting defects have become worse. To resolve such problem, preceding research revealed casting defects of existing wax method. In particular, defects of UV Curavle resin method showed difference in investment, dewaxing, deresinating and curing compared to the existing one. Accordingly, results were presented through casting tests; especially, a temperature rising curve only for UV Curavle resin was shown rather than one for the existing method. Lastly, this research classified those not available with direct casting and suggested mold manufacturing. This research is expected to be useful for 3D printer users or those who would conduct direct casting with UV Curavle resin.
