In this study, PET containing 3% silver ion-exchange zeolite was mixed with cotton in a ratio of 6:4 to prepare a spun yarn to evaluate the tensile strength, absorption speed, absorption rate, antibacterial property, and the efficiency of deodorization. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. First, it can be confirmed that silver ion exchange zeolite is evenly distributed inside and on the surface of the antimicrobial PET-SF through SEM. It was found that the tensile strength between the CVC sample mixed with silver ion zeolite PET and cotton and the normal cotton 100% sample was slightly lower in the CVC sample. Although the absorption speed and water absorption rate were measured to find out the moisture characteristics, it was confirmed that there was no significant difference. The contact angle was slightly larger in the antimicrobial CVC sample, but the time it took for the moisture to completely penetrate into the knit fabric was 0.85 seconds. In addition, it was found that out of the total mixing ratio, 40% of antibacterial PET was spun with regular cotton to produce yarn, which had an excellent bacteria reduction rate of 99.9% and a deodorization efficiency of 85%.
Cotton fabrics were treated with BTCA, which is used to improve the wrinkle recovery property of cotton fabrics. BTCA, with varying its concentrations, was treated on cotton fabrics by pad dry-cure technique. BTCA contents in treated cotton fabrics were determined by the weight gain and the FT-lR spectrometer. The effects on the sorption and physical properties of BTCA treated fabrics were investigated. IR spectra showed that ester-crosslinks were produced in BTCA treated cotton fabrics. And as increasing the concentration of BTCA, ester-crosslinks are increased in amorphous regions of fabrics. Moisture regain and water imbibition of treated fabrics were reduced. But, they were increased over a certain concentration. Dye sorptions also were reduced, but they were similar over 6% BTCA. When BTCA was treated on cotton fabrics, DP rating and wrinkle recovery angle were improved. On the other hand, strength retentions of treated fabrics were lower than untreated fabrics. Stiffness was increased.
Effects of gamma irradiation(2.5∼20kGy) on water absorption property was studied for a local variety of black soybeans. In water absorption patterns of black soybeans, the time to reach a fixed moisture content was reduced depending on the increment of water soaking temperature and irradiation dose. Irradiation at 2.5∼10kGy resulted in the reduction of soaking time of black soybeans by about 1∼3 hours and the increase of hydration capacity by 10∼20%, respectively, compared to the nonirradiated control black soybean. The water uptake rate constant of the irradiated black soybean difinitely increased with the increase of dose levels and water soaking temperature. The activation energy for water absorption and z-value were lower in the irradiated black soybeans than in the nonirradiated control black soybean. The efficacy of water absorption property in the irradiated black soybeans was also recognized after one year of storage at room temperature.
The annals of Joseon Dynasty designated as a national treasure No. 151 and a UNESCO World Memory are among the greatest archives that should be preserved permanently and inherited to future generations through the proven scientific conservation method. The annals of Joseon Dynasty in the custody of the National Archives of Korea as the sole original archive, has been restricted from the direct physical and chemical approaches. In this study, it is to develop a systematic conservation management scheme, based on the conservation state of the annals. Four books from the annals were selected out of 848 books and their moisture contents and optical property profiles were measured through the books. All the defects previously and newly found were pictured in 10~100 magnifications. The wire marks left on the Hanji's of the annals were analyzed. It was found that water damages and paper molds were prevalent in all four annals selected, and it was recommended to conduct more research for the conservation of those damaged areas. It turned out that various qualities of Hanji's were used for the time of publishing the annals because moisture content, optical properties, and wire mark intervals were quite different between papers even within one book.
Dielectric properties of sardine-starch paste with moisture content of 4 to $13\%$ were investigated as functions of moisture and frequency. And the effects of the levels of fat and starch of the mixtures upon dielectric permittivity, critical moisture, were also mentioned. In addition, a theoretical prediction of frequency dependence of dielectric constant which was computed by the lumped circuit of two layer condenser model was evaluated. For the preparation of sardine-starch paste, comminuted sardine meat was washed thoroughly several times in chilled water by soaking and decanting, and finally centrifuged. This procedure was extended longer to provide a low fat sample. The centrifuged meat was mixed with adequate amounts of starch and salt, and ground for 25 minutes in a stone mortar, moulded in the form of disk with 7cm diameter and 1.2cm thickness and then freeze dried. Dried meat disks were cut off for the size of 5.5cm diameter and 1.0cm thickness and their moisture contents were controlled in humidified desiccators with saturated solutions. Dielectric constants of sardine-starch paste tended to decrease frequency was increased showing a critical charge at the moisture called critical moisture content. In case of the sample with $20\%$ starch and $2\%$ salt an average complex permittivity($\epsilon^{\ast}$) at 7 to $8\%$ morsture as the critical moisture content was presented; $\epsilon^{\ast}$=3.37+j 0.39 at 0.1 MHz, $\epsilon^{\ast}$=2.54+j 0.19 at 15 MHz, and $\epsilon^{\ast}$=2.15+j 0.08 at 1.8 GHz, respectively. The theoretically obtained complex permittivity values from the two layer condoner model were in close agreement with these actual measurements under the same conditions, that appeared as $\epsilon^{\ast}$=2.53+i 0.09 at 0.1 MHz and $\epsilon^{\ast}$=2.28+j 0.06 at 15 MHz, respectively. The fast level of the mixture also revealed an influence on dielectric property that defatted neat with $1.0\%$ fat showed a higher hc and $\epsilon^{\ast}$ value than the meat with $4.8\%$ fat. Complex permittivity being related to the moisture level remained nearly unchanged or slightly changed at the moisture range of 4 to $8\%$ but was dispersed widely at higher moisture contents.
Viscoelastic characteristics of agricultural products may be determined through three basic tests ; stress relaxation, creep, and dynamic test. Considering the changeability of living materials, dynamic test in which information is derived in a relatively short time appears to be highly desirable, in which either cyclic stress or cyclic strain is imposed and the remaining quantity (strain or stress) is measured. The periodically varying stress will also result in periodically varying strain which in a viscoelastic material should theoretically be out of phase with the stress, because part of the energy subjected to sample is stored in the material as potential energy and part is dissipated as heat. This behavior results in a complex frequency-dependent compliance denoted by J($i{\omega}$). The complex compliance and therefore the storage compliance, the loss compliance, the phase angle, and percent energy loss for the sample should be obtainable with a given static viscoelastic property of the material under static load. The complex compliance of the rough rice kernel were computed from the Burger's model describing creep behavior of the material which were obtained in the previous study. Also, the effects of cyclic load and moisture content of grain on the dynamic viscoelastic behavior of the samples were analyized. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows ; 1. The storage compliance of the rough rice kernel slightly decreased with the frequency applied but at above the frequency of 0.1 Hz it was nearly constant with the frequency, and the loss compliance of the sample very rapidly decreased with increase in the frequency on those frequency ranges. 2. It was shown that the storage compliance and the loss compliance of the sample increased with increase in grain moisture content. Effect of grain moisture content on the storage compliance of the sample was highly significant than effect of the frequency applied, but effect of the frequency on the loss compliance of the sample was more significant than effect of grain moisture content. 3. In low moisture content, the percent energy loss of Japonica-type rough rice was much higher than that of Indica-type rough rice, but, in high moisture content, vice versa.
This study is to estimate the spatial soil moisture using Terra MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) satellite data and machine learning technique. Using the 3 years (2015~2017) data of MODIS 16 days composite NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and daily Land Surface Temperature (LST), ground measured precipitation and sunshine hour of KMA (Korea Meteorological Administration), the RDA (Rural Development Administration) 10 cm~30 cm average TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) measured soil moisture at 78 locations was tested. For daily analysis, the missing values of MODIS LST by clouds were interpolated by conditional merging method using KMA surface temperature observation data, and the 16 days NDVI was linearly interpolated to 1 day interval. By applying the RNN-LSTM (Recurrent Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory) artificial neural network model, 70% of the total period was trained and the rest 30% period was verified. The results showed that the coefficient of determination ($R^2$), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency were 0.78, 2.76%, and 0.75 respectively. In average, the clay soil moisture was estimated well comparing with the other soil types of silt, loam, and sand. This is because the clay has the intrinsic physical property for having narrow range of soil moisture variation between field capacity and wilting point.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of added nutriprotein and rice powder as a plasticizer on physicohemical property, texture property of Backsulgi. In the physicochemical property, the content of proximate composition of nutriprotein was measured as 6.1% of moisture, 3.6% of carbohydrate, 84.3% of crude protein, 0.6% of crude lipid, 5.4% of ash. The raw material of rice powder was measured as 9.6% of moisture, 83.7% of carbohydrate, 6.0% of crude protein, 0.4% of crude lipid, 0.3% of ash. Swelling power and pore ratio of the control were 78.53% and 72.42%, and tended to increase as the amounts of nutriprotein and plastic rice powder increased. Aging by Avrami eguation retarded in Backsulgi added 10% plastic rice powder than rice powder Backsulgi. All the samples added 2, 4, 6, and 8% nutriprotein at the temperatures of 20 were more effective than others on aging. In texture properties, cohesiveness and springiness were not significantly changed by adding nutriprotein and not significantly changed during the storage period in all samples. Hardness and gumminess decreased by adding 2∼8% nutriprotein and increased during the storage period in all samples. Springiness and gumminess decreased by adding 40% plastic rice powder and increased during the storage period in all sample. Cohesiveness and hardness decreased by the increase of plastic rice powder. The texture characteristics by rheometer showed that Backsulgi with nutriprotein and plastic rice powder exhibited lower in hardness than the control, indicating that nutriprotein and plastic rice powder were effective in retarding retrogradation, which is better when storage time became longer.
In this study, four kinds of vapor-permeable waterproofed fabrics were selected and their properties and the changes of properties were investigated after laundering, petroleum drycleaning or tetrachloroethylene drycleaning (each 1, 5, 10 times). The results were as follows: 1) In the water resistance, only Gore Tex satisfied its minimum property requirements, $1.0kg/cm^2$ It decreased after laddering and drycleaning. Hipora-1000, Hipora-2000, Aitac decreased slightly by petroleum drycleaning and Gore Tex decreased slightly by all three methods. 2) In the moisture vapor transmission, three except Hipora-2000 satisfied its minimum property requirement, $4000g/m^2{\cdot}24hr$.24hr. After laundering and drycleaning, it increased regardless of cleaning methods. 3) In the water repellency, Hipora-lOOG, Hipora-2000 were not almost decreased after laundering and drycleaning. Aitac decreased slightly by petrolem drycleaning and Gore Tex decreased slightly by laundering and petroleum drycleaning. 4) Air permeability of Aitac increased with increasing of cleaning times regardless of cleaning methods. 5) In the bond strength, only Gore Tex dissatisfied its minimum property requirements, 250g/cm. Regardless of cleaning method, bond strength decreased with increasing of cleaning times. 6) Color difference was large in case of Hipora-1000 by laundering, Hipora-2000 by laundering and tetrachloroethylene drycleaning Aitac by tetrachloroethylene drycleaning, Gore Tex by laundering. To diminish property change of vaper-permeable waterproofed fabric, petroleum drycleaning is more effective than laundering and tetrachloroethylene drycleaning.
In this paper, mechanical property of electric epoxy with water aging was discussed. We studied mechanical property of elastic resin after absorption in water from 0 to 484 hour. As a result, diffusion factor of elastic epoxy showed $20-21{\times}10^{-4}mm^2/s$ and general epoxy showed $9.5{\times}10^{-4}mm^2/s$. Elastic property increased linearly according to amount of addictives and decreased elastic property according to amount of water absorption. Tensile strength was reduced to add to addictives. It was effected by water absorption of micro-void of elastic epoxy. Hardness inclined to decrease after increasing according to absorbed time.
