수호손실과 도정수율을 기초로 한 벼의 수호적기결정에 관한 연구 (Determination of Optimum Timing of Paddy Harvesting Based on Grain Loss and Milling Quality)

  • This experimental work was conducted in order to find out the optimum time of harvest of Japonica-type (Akibare) and Indica-type(Tong-il) rice variety for three harvesting systems by investigating the harvesting losses and milling quality. The study was also concerned about the nature and amount of grain losses incurred during the each sequence of post-harvest technologies, and based on these result, a modification of existing systems giving a minimum grain loss was attempted. Binder, combine, and traditional systems were tested in this study and five grain moisture levels were disposed according to the decrease of grain moisture . The results are summarized as follows ; 1. The total losses of Akibare variety were ranged from 1.1 to 1.5 per cent for the traditional harvesting system , 2.1 to 4.8 per cent for the harvesting system by use of binder, and 2.8 to 4.3 per cent for the harvesting system by use of combine as the grain moisture content was reduced from 24 to 15 percent. Milling recovery of the harvesting system by use of binder, 74.8 ∼75.7 percent, was a little higher as it was compared to that of traditional harvesting system, 74.3 ∼75.0per cent, and that of the harvesting system by use of combine, 73.8 ∼75.0 per cent. Head rice recovery of mechanically dried paddy samples was higher than that of sun-dried paddy samples. 2. The total losses of Tong-il variety were ranged from 3.8 to 5.0 per cent for the traditional harvesting system, 5.2 to 10.0 percent for the system by use of binder, and 3.0 to 5.0 per cent for the system by use of combine as the grain moisture was reduced from 28 to 16 per cent. 3. Milling recovery of Tong-il variety harvested by the traditional harvesting system was 72.3 ∼73.6 percent and it was lower when compared to that of 72.3∼75.0 per cent harvested by binder, and 73.0∼74.6 percent harvested by combine. 4. 증발량 추정을 위한 지표면 가용 수분 계수 (On the Surface Moisture Availability Parameters to Estimate the Surface Evaporation)

  • In order to discuss the differences among the SMP(Surface Moisture Availability Parameter), by previous researchers on the basis of their own theoretical and empirical background, we assessed the SMP according to the soil types and volumetric soil water contents. The results are as follows. There are differences among all the five SMAPs. There''s a tendency that the larger grain size, the higher value of parameters. And they divided into two groups for their value: one group has parameters with exponential function and the other with cosine and linear function. The maximum difference between the two groups appears when the volumetric soil water contents are 0.07$m^3m^{-3}$ for sand, 0.l1$m^3m^{-3}$ for loam, 0.12 for clay, and 0.13$m^3m^{-3}$ for silt loam. So, these differences must be considered when we estimate the surface evaporation rate. From field data, the paddy field soil around Junam reservoir is classified as a silt has high wetness, 0.56. So, the parameter obtained from the field measurement is much higher than that of Clapp and Hornberger(1978)''s Table. This study treated the SMP for a certain point of time in winter season. But if we measured the soil water contents continuously, we could obtain better time-dependent parameter.

  • 논의 볏짚 시용(施用)이 춘계(春季) 이경작업성능(犁耕作業性能)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 분석(分析)하기 위(爲)하여 볏짚의 길이를 10,20,30,60m로 절단(切斷)하여 10a당(當) 450kg의 볏짚을 시용(施用)하고 토양수분(土壤水分)이 27~36% d.b.인 식양토(埴壤土)의 논에서 8마력(馬力) 동력경운기(動力耕耘機)로 이경작업(犁耕作業)을 실시(實施)하여 볏짚 절단(切斷)길이의 변화(變化)와 토양수분(土壤水分)의 변화(變化)가 견인력(牽引力), 견인비저항(牽引比抵抗), slip 연료소모량등(燃料消耗量等)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 분석(分析)하였으며 토양수분(土壤水分) 및 토양경도(土壤硬度)와 이경작업성능(犁耕作業性能)과의 관계(關係)를 구명(究明)하였던 바 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 가. 이경작업시(犁耕作業時)의 견인력(牽引力)은 볏짚 절단(切斷)길이 약(約) 30cm와 토양수분(土壤水分) 약(約) 32%에서 110kg으로 최소(最小)로 나타났다. 나. 볏짚의 절단(切斷)길이와 토양수분(土壤水分)의 변화(變化)에 따른 견인비저항(牽引比抵抗)과 slip에 대(對)한 회귀방정식(回歸方程式)을 유도(誘導)하였다. 다. 견인비저항(牽引比抵抗)과 slip은 볏짚의 절단(切斷)길이 약(約) 30cm, 토양수분(土壤水分) 약(約) 32%에서 각각(各各) $0.35kg/cm^2$, 16%로 최소(最小)값을 나타내었으며 견인비저항(牽引比抵抗)은 토양수분(土壤水分) 변화(變化)에 slip은 볏짚의 절단(切斷)길이의 변화(變化)에 더 민감한 반응(反應)을 보였다. 라. 이경작업능률(犁耕作業能率)은 토양수분(土壤水分) 약(約) 35%, 토양경도(土壤硬度) 약(約) $10kg/cm^2$에서 최대(最大)인 5.3a/hr으로 나타났으며 이경작업능률(犁耕作業能率)은 토양경도(土壤硬度)의 이차함수(二次函數)로 나타났다. 마. 볏짚을 시용(施用)한 논에서의 연료소모량(燃料消耗量)은 볏짚 길이 약(約) 30cm, 토양수분(土壤水分) 약(約) 32%에서 평균(平均) 6.5l/10a로 최소(最小)로 나타났다.

  • To modernize the conventional rice post production technology and reduce grain losses, a transition toward the wet-paddy threshing system has been strongly demanded. The head-feeding type thresher with pneumatic separation has been used dominantly for threshing dried-paddy, but some adverse effects in separation performance for threshing wet-paddy is encounterred. In order to solve the problems, the development of thresher with an additional oscillating sieve to the conventional pneumatic separation has been recommanded. This study was intended to evaluate the separating performance of thresher with oscillating sieve which was attached additionally to the conventional auto-thresher equipped with separation system of blower and suction fan. For different feed rates and rice varieties, wet-and dry-material were tested with threshers attached with and without oscillating sieve. Results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. When the feed rates were 480 and 640 kg/hr, there was no statistically significant difference in power reqirements between the threshers with and without an additional sieve device for both dry-and wet-threshing. However, when the feed rate was 960 kg/hr, power requirements of thresher without sieve were greater for wet-paddy threshing than the thresher with the additional sieve separator by about 20% points. 2. With additional oscillating sieve device, the ratios of total weights of whole grains including grains with branch let and damaged grains to the total output did not show statistical difference among the feed rates. However, with pneumatic separation the ratio was decreased as the level of feed rate increased. 3. The total amount of grains with branchlet (including broken panicle) increased with the moisture content. For both the wet-and dry-material threshing with the additional oscillating sieve, the percent of grains with branchlet to the total output decreased greatly as the feed rate increased. 4. The output of the damaged grains increased as moisture content decreased. Especially, for the dry-paddy threshing, the additional sieve separating device produced more damaged grains than the pneumatic separation at all feed rates. 5. Generally, for dry paddy threshing, the separating performance of the thresher with the additional sieve device was better at all feed rates, showing greater difference with increasing feed rates. 6. Separating losses were greater with the pneumatic than sieve separation for both the wet-and dry-threshing. 7. The overall comparison of separating performance of threshers tested with and without an additional sieve device showed that the former was more effective than the latter for the dry-material threshing. However, for the wet-paddy threshing, the separation performance with a sieve device was better than the pneumatic only when the feed rate was high.

예취시기가 답이작 이탈리안라이그라스의 건초생산에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cutting Dates on Hay Production of Italian Ryegrass in Paddy Field)

  • 답이작 지대에서 이탈리안라이스라스의 자연건조에 의한 건초생산 시기를 결정하고자 예취시기를 달리한 후 건조시간, 건초함량율, 수량 및 영양가 등을 검토한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 초장은 4월중순 이후부터 증가율이 컸으며 엽중비율은 4월20일에는 55.6%이었으나, 5월30일에는 18.9%로 생육시기가 경과함에 따라 급격히 감소하였다. 2. 5월10일 이후부터 예취후 4일 건조시에 건초함량율은 17.1%~20.5%이었으며 건초 손실율은 10.2~15.0%이었다. 3. 조단백질, 조지방, 조회분 및 TDN 함량은 생육시기가 경과함에 따라 감소하는 경향이나 조직유 및 NFE함량은 증가하였다. 4. 건물수량은 2회수량은 2회예취인 4월20일+5월30일 예취의 977kg /10a보다 1회예취인 5월20일, 5월30일 예취가 17~18% 증수하였으며 TDN 함량도 5~11% 증수하였다.

Quality and Yield Characteristics of Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Grown at Paddy Field in Spring Season

  • This study was conducted to determine the characteristics of quality and yield in potatoes grown at paddy field before rice transplantation during the spring season. Three potato cultivars ('Jowon', 'Haryeong', and 'Goun') were grown in Gangneung (asl 5 m) and Seocheon (asl 20 m). In both locations, weather condition belonged to the fourth zone (spring cropping) in potato production location's distribution of Korea. Daily mean soil temperature in both the locations was $0.2-0.6^{\circ}C$ lower than air temperature, while soil moisture was adequate level to potato growth in spite of spring drought. TR ratio was not affected by location, but by cultivar. Specific gravity, starch content, dry matter rate, and yield were significantly influenced by location and by cultivar. There was no difference in total tuber number by location, however there was a large gap in marketable tuber yield according to locations and cultivars. There were high negative relationships between yield and main qualities such as dry matter rate and starch content, while high positive correlation was observed between main qualities. It was possible to produce potato before rice transplanting at drained paddy fields located in representative two locations of potato spring cropping and their characteristics in growth and quality were similar to those generally well known in upland cultivation. Paddy field was thought to be more favorable than upland in terms of available soil moisture supply against spring drought. Further research, however, was needed to increase soil temperature and also preliminary review on proper cultivar according to location seemed to be needed for high yield.

농가의 미곡저장실태 (Investigation "On the Paddy Storage at the Farm Level")

  • This study was carried out to investigate the actual environmental paddy storage conditions in conventional Korean farm warehouses. The paddy storage conditions by the locations and sizes of warehouses were figured out. The effectiveness of the small insulated box for storing paddy was also examined. Observations were made at sixteen different warehouses located in Moonsan-Myeon, Jinyandg-gun, Gyungnam Province from July lst to September 28 th, the period which was considered to be the worst for storing grains. The results are as follows ; 1. the average temperatures of rough rice and air inside the warehouse were 0.9 and 0.7$^\circ$ higher than the outside air temperature. 2. The average relative humidity in warehouses was 1.5percent higher than that of the atomosphere. This fact resulted in the increased moisture content of grains. Therefore, the ventilation for equalizing the relative humidity of inside and outside of warehouses was required. 3. The dry matter of stored rough rice was decreased by 1.1 percent in average druing the observation period. In order to reduce the dry matter loss, application of new grain storing method ;hermetic storage or filling inert gas storage, was highly recommended. 4. Environmental conditions for storing rough rice in a warehouse located in a sloping site are, in general , better than those of a warehouse located in a flat site. But as far as the dry matter of rough rice was concerned, above situation is not always satisfactory. Because it is fairly frequent to observe the higher rate of moisture absorption by grains stored in a warehouse located in a sloping site. 5. Environmental conditions for storing rough rice in a large-scale warehouse were better than those in a small size warehouse. Therefore, it is advisible for farmers to store their grins in the large-scale warehouses commonly used by villagers. 6. It was undesirable to store rough in a insulated box.

Analysis of Paddy Soil Chemical Properties and Rice Quality in Central Area (Sejong) in Korea

  • This study was carried out to review and compare crop cultivations upon chemical properties of paddy soil and qualitative characteristics of rice in Sejong-city from a point of view of farming extension to rice farmers and to utilize the result of the study as a basic guideline for precise agricultural practice. The pH in soils of Sejong was about 6.1-6.6 and had no difference with an average pH of paddy soils in Chung-Nam with pH 6.1. However, the average of organic matter, calcium (Ca) and available silicate in Sejong was lower than the average of them in Chung-Nam. The yields of rice were higher in 2010 than in 2011 and 2012, and the protein contents of rice were the highest in 2011 while the lowest water contents of rice in 2011. The protein contents upon regions were the highest in 2011 with 6.1%, and the amylose contents were the highest in Yeondong-myun, Jeoneu-myun, and Yeonseo-myun in 2010 while Kumnam-myun and Jeondong-myun were the highest in 2012. With the increase of precipitation, the protein content level in rice was increased while the amylose content level tended to decrease. Correlations between the chemical properties of paddy soil and the quality of rice and between level of organic matter in soil and amylose contents were negative (r = -0.507), and the correlation between the moisture contents and amylose contents (r = 0.419) and between the water contents and whiteness (r = 0.485) were positive. Because the quantity and quality of rice yield is determined by the soil characteristics, the consultation to farmers for the proactive soil analysis and for the maintenance of stable level of pH, organic matter and available silicate based on historical results of analysis is highly recommended. Also, the analysis on the effect of the weather and the soil characteristics affecting the quality and quantity of rice would be another good way.

바인다의 효출력이 곡물탈립손실에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Bundle icing Forces on the Shattering Loss of Grains)

  • The effect of binder kicking forces on the shattering losses of paddy rice, which has been widely understood as an outstanding loss factor in harvesting with a binder, were experimentally assessed in this thesis.Through the field tests the optimum time of harvest, in terms of grain moisture contents, was found by considering harvesting losses for two rice varieties, harvested by two different binders, at four or five grain moisture levels.A device was designed and manufactured to apply various kicking forces to the bundles and was used in the bundle kicking tests. It was intended to find out the optimum range of kicking force to minimize the kicking losses. Based on the study, modification of the existing binder kicking mechanism was suggested. The following is a summary of the results of this thesis. 1. In Suweon 258 variety, as the grain moisture content is reduced, so the cutting loss and the kicking loss increase. The grain losses range from 0.77 to 0.82 percent of total field yield for the cutting loss, from 1.83 to 2.01 percent for the kicking loss, and from 2.60 to 2.83 percent for the field loss, when the moisture content is about 22 percent. 2. In Jinheung variety , the field losses increased as the grain moisture content decreased . When the moisture content was 20 percent, the field loss, cutting loss and kicking loss was 0.42-0.49 % , 0.30-0.35, and 0.12 -0.14% of the total field yield, respectively. 3. The difference in the field loss , cutting loss, and kicking loss for the two binders was 0.23% , 0.05% and 0.18% respectively in Suweon 258 variety, and 0.07% , 0.02% and 0.05% respectively ini Jinheung variety. The grain losses for binder B were slightly higher than those for binder A. 4. In the statistical analysis of each variety , the kicking force and the moisture content of the grain, and its interaction were all highly significant at 1% level by T test .The optimum kicking force was found to be in the 3.0-0.4kg range. This does not interrupt the binder operation, while ioses are kept to an acceptale level. 5. To reduce the kicking force of the eXlstmg binder mechanism, the speed of rotation of the kicking arm needs to be redued by increasing the number of driving sprocket teeth, and the position and gear ratio of the knotter-bill and driving bevelgear have to be change to give a !motter-bill speed of 1110 rpm. It is also desirable to attach a belt conveyor which smoothly carries the bundle to the ground. 6. The optimum harvesting time cased on maximum field yield was found to be at a grain moisture content of around 22 percent for Suweon 258 variety, and 20 percent for Jinheung variety. Tota] field yield and field yield at the time amounted to 9, 812.5 kg/ha, 9, 302. 5kg/ha respectively for the Suweon 258, and 7, 819.5 kg/ ha, 7, 158.7 kg/ha respectively for the Jinheung variety.
