  • In [3] Goldman introduced the notion of modules of quotients of a ring with respect to an idempotents kernel functor, which is a generalization of the localization of a module with respect to a multiplicative subset of a communtative ring. For an idempotent kernel functor $\sigma$ on the category of R-modules and for an R-module M, let $Q_\sigma(M)$ denote the module of quotients with respect to $\sigma$.

  • Let R be a commutative ring. An R-module E is said to be regular injective provided that Ext1R(R/I, E) = 0 for any regular ideal I of R. We first show that the class of regular injective modules have the hereditary property, and then introduce and study the regular injective dimension of modules and regular global dimension of rings. Finally, we give some homological characterizations of total rings of quotients and Dedekind rings.

  • In this paper, we give an affirmative answer to the question raised in [5]; whether L((P)) is principal or not. Using this fact, we try to give concrete form of module of quotient with respect to a torsion theory determined by L((P)).

  • Let R be a domain with its field Q of quotients. An R-module M is said to be weak w-projective if $Ext^1_R(M,N)=0$ for all $N{\in}{\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$, where ${\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$ denotes the class of GV-torsionfree R-modules N with the property that $Ext^k_R(M,N)=0$ for all w-projective R-modules M and for all integers $k{\geq}1$. In this paper, we define a domain R to be w-Matlis if the weak w-projective dimension of the R-module Q is ${\leq}1$. To characterize w-Matlis domains, we introduce the concept of w-Matlis cotorsion modules and study some basic properties of w-Matlis modules. Using these concepts, we show that R is a w-Matlis domain if and only if $Ext^k_R(Q,D)=0$ for any ${\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$-divisible R-module D and any integer $k{\geq}1$, if and only if every ${\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$-divisible module is w-Matlis cotorsion, if and only if w.w-pdRQ/$R{\leq}1$.

  • It is well-known that if char𝕜 = 0, then an Artinian monomial complete intersection quotient 𝕜[x1, …, xn]/(x1a1, …, xnan) has the strong Lefschetz property in the narrow sense, and it is decomposed by the direct sum of irreducible 𝖘𝖑2-modules. For an Artinian ring A = 𝕜[x1, x2, x3]/(x16, x26, x36), by the Schur-Weyl duality theorem, there exist 56 trivial representations, 70 standard representations, and 20 sign representations inside A. In this paper we find an explicit basis for A, which is compatible with the S3-module structure.
