Microscale wind fields were simulated by MUKLIMO at the Naro Space Center, where complicated mountainous terrain and trees exist. In order to test the model's sensitivity with the effects of terrain and trees, experimental simulations were conducted under the various initial conditions. The experiments showed that the effects of trees were more significant on flat surfaces than on mountain cliffs. Based on the results, an actual 10 m level microscale wind field was simulated at the Naro Space Center, which has complicated mountainous terrain. Simulations of wind fields before and after the construction of the launching site were also conducted. It was found that MUKLIMO was of the mesoscale wind fields at the Naro Space Center.

The purpose of this research is to develope street trees management program for more an effective street trees management. The principal point of this program is to relate spatial data and attribute data that is the main concept in GIS(Geographic Information System). To do this function, MapObjects which is ESRI's mapping and GIS components was used to process spatial data and Access which had been developed by MS was used to manipulate attribute data in this program. Visual Basic also was used to design and develop user interfaces and procedures, relate two sort of data, and lastly complete Application. Relational data model was adopted to design tables and their relation, Antenucci's GIS development model was selected to design and complete this program. The configuration of this application is composed of management data and reference data. The management data includes the location of street tree, a growth condition, a surrounding environment, the characters of tree, an equipments, a management records and etc. The reference data include general information about tree, blight and insects.
We propose a tree modeling method of expressing realistically and efficiently numerous trees distributed on a broad terrain. This method combines and simplifies the recursive hierarchy of tree branch and branch generation process through self-organizing from buds, allowing users to generate trees that can be used more intuitively and efficiently. With the generation process the leveled structure and the appearance such as branch length, distribution and direction can be controlled interactively by user. In addition, we introduce an environment-adaptive model that allows to grow a number of trees variously by controlling at the same time and we propose an efficient application method of growing environment. For the real-time rendering of the complex tree models distributed on a broad terrain, the rendering process, the LOD(level of detail) for the branch surfaces, and shader instancing are introduced through the GPU(Graphics Processing Unit). Whether the numerous trees are expressed realistically and efficiently on wide terrain by proposed models are confirmed through simulation.
The purpose of this paper is to find a more accurate method to evaluate pedestrian wind by computational fluid dynamics approach. Previous computational fluid dynamics studies of wind environmental problems were mostly performed by simplified models, which only use simple geometric shapes, such as cubes and cylinders, to represent buildings and structures. However, to have more accurate and complete evaluation results, various shapes of blocking objects, such as trees, should also be taken into consideration. The aerodynamic effects of these various shapes of objects can decrease wind velocity and increase turbulence intensity. Previous studies simply omitted the errors generated from these various shapes of blocking objects. Adding real geometrical trees to the numerical models makes the calculating domain of CFD very complicated due to geometry generation and grid meshing problems. In this case the function of Porous Media Condition can solve the problem by adding trees into numerical models without increasing the mesh grids. The comparison results between numerical and wind tunnel model are close if the parameters of porous media condition are well adjusted.
Epiphytic lichens were sampled quantitatively on the cherry trees (Prunus serrulata) at Jeonju and Hadong along both north and south exposures of tat trees. Coverage of lichens was determinated for each species by 10*20cm quadrat. Lichen species diversities such as total diversity (D), mean diversity (D), Shannon diversity (D') and redundancy (R) were estimated according to Brillouin and Shannon equation. The importance value of lichen species was meassured by niche preemption model, The importance value transformed into some fraction k of the niche space. The value of k was compared with aggregation of lichens communities in to areas. The ten most important awariensis, Parmelia incurva, Parmelia crinita, Dirinaria applanta, Parmelia wallichiana, Parmelia austrosinensis and Cetraria platyphylla. The mean coverage epiphytic lichens on north side of tree was higher than of south side in two areas. The species diversities of epiphytic lichen of two areas shows that a change in the value of D' along vertical was not paralled with the D and R. In Kumsan-sa, D, D and D' increased upward along the tree of north exposure, but did not follow this trend in south, However in Sangge-sa, D, D and D' of both sides increased.

The specific configuration of the safety systems in VVER-1000/V320 reactors allows a comprehensive study of the Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA). In the present paper, a verification of the success criteria of the event trees headers for the medium and large break LOCA sequences is conducted. A detailed TRACEV5P5 thermal-hydraulic model of the reactor has been developed, including all safety systems. When analyzing the results of all sequences, some conservatism is observed in certain specific configurations as the success criterion of some headers is not consistent with the classic PSA level 1. Therefore, new proposals for the LOCA event trees are performed based on a reconfiguration of LOCA break ranges and the use of the expanded event trees approach.

Soil organic carbon (SOC), being a help to forest formation and control of carbon dioxide in the air, is found to be an important factor by which global warming is influenced. Excavating the samples by whole area is very inefficient method to discovering the distribution of SOC. So, the development of suitable model for expecting the relative amount of the SOC makes better use of expecting the SOC. In the present study, a model based on a decision tree algorithm is introduced to estimate the amount of SOC along with accessing influencing factors such as altitude, aspect, slope and type of trees. The model was applied to a real site and validated by 10-fold cross validation using two softwares, See 5 and Weka. From the results given by See 5, it can be concluded that the amount of SOC in surface layers is highly related to the type of trees, while it is, in middle depth layers, dominated by both type of trees and altitude. The estimation accuracy was rated as 70.8% in surface layers and 64.7% in middle depth layers. A similar result was, in surface layers, given by Weka, but aspect was, in middle depth layers, found to be a meaningful factor along with types of trees and altitude. The estimation accuracy was rated as 68.87% and 60.65% in surface and middle depth layers. The introduced model is, from the tests, conceived to be useful to estimation of SOC amount and its application to SOC map production for wide areas.
To estimate relational models and test the theoretical hypotheses of binary tree search algorithms, we built binary search trees with random permutations of n (number of nodes) distinct numbers, which ranged from three to seven. Probabilities for building binary search trees corresponding to each possible height and balance factor were estimated. Regression models with variables of number of nodes, height, and average number of comparisons were estimated and the theorem of O(1g(n)) was accepted experimentally by a Lack of Test procedure. Analysis of Variance model was applied to compare the average number of comparisons with three groups by height and balance factor of the trees to test theoretical hypotheses of a binary search tree performance statistically.
The production and decomposition rate of litters of major forest trees in Korea, such as Quercus acutissima, Quercus mogolica Robinia pseudoacacia Pinus rigida, Pinus thunbergiana, Abies koreana,Phy'llostackys reticulata, were estimated by Olson model. The amount of mineral nutrients in litters and soil were measured, and the relationships among them were studied. The annual litter production was the most in the forest of broadleaved deciduous trees and the least in the forest of monocotyledonous trees. The decomposition rate of broadleaved deciduous litters was higher than that of coniferous litters and lower than that of R. pseudoacacia litters. The time required for the decomposition of half of the accumulated organic matter of R.pseudoacacia litter, Quercus litter, P. rigida litter, Ph. reticulata litter, P. thunbergiana litter and .4.koreana litter in the forest stands were 1.263 years, 2.290~2.365 years, 2.644 years, 4.660 years,4.750 years, 6.699 years respectively. The amounts of N in litters and the amounts of N returned to the soil in the forests of R. pseudoacacia. Quercus, Pinus were proportional to the decay rate of organic matter. Key words: Annual litter production, Decomposition rate.
In this paper, a model is introduced named double relation chains (DRC) based on ordered sets. It is proved that using DRC and special relationships among the members of an alphabet, vectors of this alphabet can be stored and searched in a tree. This idea is general; however, one special application of DRC is the longest prefix matching (LPM) problem in an IP network. Applying the idea of DRC to the LPM problem makes the prefixes comparable like numbers using a pair of w-bit vectors to store at least one and at most w prefixes, where w is the IP address length. This leads to good compression performance. Based on this, two recently introduced structures called coded prefix trees and scalar prefix trees are shown to be specific applications of DRC. They are implementable on balanced trees which cause the node access complexity for prefix search and update procedures to be O(log n) where n is the number of prefixes. As another advantage, the number of node accesses for these procedures does not depend on w. Additionally, they need fewer number of node accesses compared to recent range-based solutions. These structures are applicable on both IPv4 and IPv6, and can be implemented in software or hardware.
