This paper presents hardware implementation of background timing-skew calibration technique for time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters (TI ADCs). The timing skew between any two adjacent analog-digital (A/D) channels is detected by using pure digital Finite Impulse Response (FIR) delay filter. This paper includes hardware architecture of the system, main units and small sub-blocks along with control logic circuits. Moreover, timing diagrams of logic simulations using ModelSim are provided and discussed for further understanding about simulations. Simulation process in MATLAB and Verilog is also included and provided with basic settings need to be done. For hardware implementation it not practical to work with all samples. Hence, the simulation is conducted on 512 TI ADC output samples which are stored in the buffer simultaneously and the correction arithmetic is done on those samples according to the time skew algorithm. Through the simulated results, we verified the implemented hardware is working well.
The relationship between the gas chromatographic (GC) patterns of sauce made of barley bran and ranked order in sensory analysis was investigated by multiple regression analysis (MRA). Most of the 42 barley bran sauce samples comprised about 34 peaks, in which the content of 9, 12-octadecanoic acid methyl ester was the highest, followed by those of 2-furanmethanol and 2-furancarboxaldehyde. It is difficult to estimate the aroma quality of barley bran sauce samples on the basis of only one peak. The 34 aroma compounds of the 42 samples were analyzed by an MRA model featuring six transformations. The most precise fit was calculated from the absolute value transformed with the root square of each peak, and the multiple determination coefficient showed that 91.6% of the variation in the sensory score could be explained on the basis of GC data.
Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was used to determine rapidly and nondestructively the content of ambroxol in intact ambroxol tablets containing 30 mg (12.5% m/m nominal concentration) by collecting NIR spectra in range 1100-1750 nm. The laboratory-made samples had 10.3∼15.9% m/m nominal ambroxol concentration. The measurements were made by reflection using a fiber-optic probe and calibration was carried out by partial least square regression (PLSR) with autoscaling. Model validation was performed by randomly splitting the data set into calibration and validation data set (7 samples as a calibration data set and 5 samples as a validation data set). The developed NIR method gave results comparable to the known values of tablets in a laboratorial manufacturing Process, standard error of calibration (SEC) and standard error of prediction (SEP) being 0.49% and 0.49% m/m respectively. The method showed good accuracy and repeatability NIR spectroscopic determination in intact tablets allowed the potential use of real time monitoring for a running production process.
In this study, 2-mm Al/Cu bimetallic laminates were produced using asymmetric roll bonding (RB) process. The asymmetric RB process was carried out with thickness reduction ratios of 10%, 20% and 30% and mismatch rolling speeds 1:1, 1:1.1 and 1:1.2, separately. For various experimental conditions, finite element simulation was used to model the deformation of bimetallic Al/Cu laminates. Specific attention was focused on the bonding strength and bonding quality of the interface between Al and Cu layers in the simulation and experiment. The optimization of mismatch rolling speed ratios was obtained for the improvement of the bond strength of bimetallic laminates during the asymmetric RB process. During the finite element simulation, the plastic strain of samples was found to reach the maximum value with a high quality bond for the samples produced with mismatch rolling speed 1:1.2. Moreover, the peeling surfaces of samples around the interface of laminates after the peeling test were studied to investigate the bonding quality by scanning electron microscopy.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the samples on the blood levels of glucose, glycohemoglobin(HbAlc), total cholesterol and triglyceride. The samples have been used in the treatment of a type 2 diabetic animal model (C57BlKsj db/db). The samples were administrated orally before each meal for 6 weeks. Cinnamon dose was 50mg/kg/day, 100mg/kg/day, 150mg/kg/day and 200mg/kg/day, respectively. Rhodiola rosea dose was 50mg/kg/day, 100mg/kg/day, 15-mg/kg/day and 200mg/kg/day, respectively. (omitted)

Although ex situ target strength (TS) measurements using dual- and split-beam systems have become the primary approach of estimating fish abundance, theoretical model estimation is a powerful tool for verifying the measurements, as well as for providing values when making direct measurements is difficult. TS values for 20 samples of live bambooleaf wrasse (Pseudolabrus japonicus) whose target length (TL) ranged between 13.7 and 21.3 cm were estimated theoretically using the Kirchhoff-ray mode model, and the TS values for 18 live fish samples were additionally measured at ${\sim}0^{\circ}$ tilt angle to the swimming aspect using a tethered method at a frequency of 120 kHz to verify the theoretical values. The digitizing intervals used to extract the fish body and swim bladder morphology in the X-ray photographs significantly affected the calculated TS patterns, but variations based on the speed of sound and density ratio values for the general range of fish flesh were relatively small (within 1 dB). Close agreement was observed between the measured and theoretical TS values, and the correlation between the average TS and body length of the fish could be calculated accurately as <$TS_{120kHz}$>= 20logTL (cm) -71.6 using the theoretical method.
Radon exhalation rates have been determined for samples of concrete, gypsum board, marble, and tile among building materials that are used in domestic construction environment. Radon emanation was measured using the closed chamber method based on CR-39 nuclear track detectors. The radon concentrations in apartments of 100 households in Seoul, Busan and Gyeonggi Provinces were measured to verify the prediction model of indoor radon concentration. The results obtained by the four samples showed the largest radon exhalation rate of $0.34314Bq/m^2{\cdot}h$ for sample concrete. The radon concentration contribution to indoor radon in the house due to exhalation from the concrete was $31.006{\pm}7.529Bq/m^3$. The difference between the prediction concentration and actual measured concentration was believed to be due to the uncertainty resulting from the model implementation.

A suspended membrane micro fluidic heat flux sensor that is able to measure the heat flow rate was designed and fabricated by a complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor-compatible process. The combination of a thirty-junction gold and nickel thermoelectric sensor with an ultralow noise preamplifier, low pass filter, and lock-in amp has enabled the resolution of 50 nW power and provides the sensitivity of $11.4\;mV/{\mu}W$. The heater modulation method was used to eliminate low frequency noises from sensor output. It is measured with various heat flux fluid of DI-water to test as micro fluidic application. In order to estimate the heat generation of samples from the output measurement of a micro fluidic heat-flux sensor, a methodology for modeling and simulating electro-thermal behavior in the micro fluidic heat-flux sensor with integrated electronic circuit is presented and validated. The electro-thermal model was constructed by using system dynamics, particularly the bond graph. The electro-thermal system model in which the thermal and the electrical domain are coupled expresses the heat generation of samples converts thermal input to electrical output. The proposed electro-thermal system model shows good agreement with measured output voltage response in transient state and steady-state.

A straightforward method for optimal determining of a high frequency inductor's parasitic capacitance is presented. The proposed estimation method is based on measuring the inductor's impedance samples over a limited frequency range bordering on the resonance point considering k-dB deviation from the maximum impedance. An optimized solution to k could be obtained by minimizing the root mean squared error between the measured and the estimated impedance values. The model used to provide the estimations is a parallel RLC circuit valid at resonance frequency which will be transferred to the real model considering the mentioned interval of frequencies. A straightforward algorithm is suggested and programmed using MATLAB which does not require a wide knowledge of design parameters and could be implemented using a spectrum analyzer. The inputs are the measured impedance samples as a function of frequency along with the diameter of the conductors. The suggested algorithm practically provides the estimated parameters of a real inductance model at different frequencies, with or without design information. The suggested work is different from designing a high frequency inductor; it is rather concentration of determining the parameters of an available real inductor that could be easily done by a recipe provided to a technician.

The objective of this study was to quantitatively estimate $PM_{2.5}$ source contribution in Gyeongsan. Ambient $PM_{2.5}$ samples have been collected on zefluor, quartz and nylasorb filter by $PM_{2.5}$ samplers of cyclone method from September 2010 to December 2012. Collected samples were analyzed for determining 17 inorganic elements, 8 ions, and 8 carbon components after pretreatment. Based on these chemical information, the PMF model was applied to estimate the quantitative contribution of air pollution sources. The results of the PMF modeling showed that the sources were apportioned by biomass burning source (15.5%), secondary sulfate source (16.0%), industry source (10.4%), soil source (7.0%), gasoline source (9.1%), incinerator source (10.4%), diesel emission source (11.0%), and secondary nitrate source (20.6%), respectively. To analyze local source impacts from various wind directions, the CPF analysis were performed using source contribution results with the wind direction values measured at the site.
