The Study of Facebook Marketing Application Method: Facebook 'Likes' Feature and Predicting Demographic Information (페이스북 마케팅 활용 방안에 대한 연구: 페이스북 '좋아요' 기능과 인구통계학적 정보 추출)

  • With big data analysis, companies use the customized marketing strategy based on customer's information. However, because of the concerns about privacy issue and identity theft, people start erasing their personal information or changing the privacy settings on social network site. Facebook, the most used social networking site, has the feature called 'Likes' which can be used as a tool to predict user's demographic profiles, such as sex and age range. To make accurate analysis model for the study, 'Likes' data has been processed by using Gaussian RBF and nFactors for dimensionality reduction. With random Forest and 5-fold cross-validation, the result shows that sex has 75% and age has 97.85% accuracy rate. From this study, we expect to provide an useful guideline for companies and marketers who are suffering to collect customers' data.

  • The use of composites is increasing for lightweight aerospace structures. Among these structures, the ring frame and the parts of the projectile body are mainly made of a fiber reinforced composite material which is less susceptible such as delamination to structural damage. As the use of fiber reinforced composites increases, interest in modeling efficient methods of stiffness and strength is increasing. This paper predict the mechanical strength according to the repeating unit cell(RUC) of the 2-D triaxial braided composites of fiber reinforced composites. Yarn slice definition, incremental approach and stiffness reduction model were used as strength prediction. Finally, the results of strength prediction are verified by comparing with experimental data of 2-D triaxial braided composites specimens.

Application of Copper Slag as a Substitute for Sand in Sand Compaction Pile (모래다짐말뚝의 모래대체재로서 동슬래그의 활용)

  • The domestic, quantity of copper slag as a by-product at copper smelting process reaches 700,000 tons annually while its application is limited. Therefore, the secure disposal plan of copper slag is urgently required. For this reason, in this study, copper slag was used as a substitute for sand in Sand Compaction Pile that is one of the improvement methods of soft ground because the particle size distribution of copper slag ranges from 0.15mm to 5m(coarse state) and it maintains stable glassy state environmentally. The geotechnical characteristics of copper slag were evaluated through laboratory model tests and the field application of copper slag was compared with generally used sand by pilot tests. From these experimental results, copper slag's material characteristics, bearing capacity, settlement reduction and improvement effects of surrounding ground were found to be superior to generally used sand. The copper slag can be used as a substitute far sand in the Sand Compaction Pile method and as recycling material of industrial by-product with high econonical and environmental value when natural resources are being exhausted.

Analysis of the Effect of Solar Radiation on Internal Temperature Distribution in Concrete Mat Foundation (태양 복사열이 콘크리트 매트기초의 내부 온도분포에 미치는 영향에 관한 해석적 연구)

  • This research investigated the effect of solar radiation on the temperature distribution in concrete mat foundation. Zhang and Huang Model was utilized to estimate solar radiation heat at a given date and time. A one-dimensional finite element formula was derived with the fundamental laws of heat transfer and Galerkin method. Based on the formula, a one dimensional finite element analysis code was developed using MATLAB. Hydration heat analysis of mat foundation were conducted using the developed code. It was found that the solar radiation reduced the maximum temperature difference in mat foundation, and this temperature difference reduction was more prominent in case of summer season cast, a higher initial concrete temperature, and a thicker mat foundation depth. The research recommended that the solar radiation should be considered in hydration heat analysis of concrete mat foundation so as not to overestimate the maximum temperature difference in mat foundation.

Primary Culture of Human Nasal Epithelial Cell Monolayer for In Vitro Drug Transport Studies (약물의 in vitro 투과 실험을 위한 사람의 비강점막상피세포 단층막의 일차배양)

  • The primary culture of human nasal epithelial cell monolayer was performed on a Transwell. The effect of various factors on the tight junction formation was observed in order to develop an in vitro experimental system for nasal transport studies. Human nasal epithelial cells, collected from human normal inferior turbinates, were plated onto diverse inserts. After 4 days, media of the apical surface was removed for air-liquid interface (ALI) culture. Morphological characteristics was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A polyester membrane of $0.4\;{\mu}m$ pore size was determined as the most effective insert based on the change in the transepithelial electric resistance (TEER) value as well as the $^{14}C-mannitol$ transport study. The ALI method was effective in developing the tight junction as observed in the further increase in the TEER value and reduction in the permeability coefficient $(P_{app})$ of $^{14}C-mannitol$ transport. Results of the transport study of a model drug, budesonide, showed that the primary culture system developed in this study could be further developed and applied for in vitro nasal transport studies.

  • A series active power filter compensating current harmonics and unbalanced source voltages in a 3phase-3wire power system is presented. The system is composed of series active power filter and shunt passive filters that are tuned at 5th and 7th harmonics. The proposed series active power filter improves harmonic compensation characteristics of the shunt passive filters, reduces source side harmonic currents and compensates the unbalanced source voltages. In the proposed algorithm, compensation voltage for harmonic reduction is calculated by a performance function, and compensation voltage for the unbalanced source voltage is calculated based on the synchronous reference frame. Some results obtained from the experimental model using the proposed method are Presented to demonstrate and confirm its validity.

  • Recently from the enterprise when about reduction the product of numerous type to develop does not produce simultaneously with Life Cycle shortening and JIT productions of the product, is confronting in the environment which will not become. In order to confront in like this environment, developing the good product importance but, the product researches what kind of direction and developing with core subject of technical innovation is recognized. The Effects of Breeding Environment Adjustment in FABP4 Gene Identification of Korean Cattle (한우의 FABP4 유전자 선별에서 사육환경 보정 효과)

  • Economic-traits of livestock are affected by environmental and genetic factors. We are interested in genetic factors that influence the economic-traits of Korean cattle. It is necessary to adjust environmental factors in order to enhance the accuracy of the genetic effect analysis. In this paper, we propose a statistical model of Korean cattle that exclude environmental breeding farm and age factors. We formulated an adjusted economic-trait value, and applied multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) method to data of before-and-after adjustment to identify major FABP4 genes. We were able to increase the accuracy of the analysis after adjustment and identify superior FABP4 genes that influence grade and fatty acid.

  • This paper presents the methodologies for seismic retrofitting of cabinet equipment which can be employed to resolve the USI A-46 problem related to seismic qualification of old nuclear power plant. To obtain accurate dynamic characteristics of a cabinet structure, three types of structural modeling are introduced and the their free vibration modes are compared. Three types of seismic retrofitting scenarios, such as 1) the installation of bracing, 2) installation of damper, 3) installation of tuned mass damper(TMD), are established and evaluated for the decrease of ICRS(In Cabinet Reponse Spectrum). In the cases of 1) & 2), since the retrofitted structures show larger ICRS than that of the original structure, the careful considerations are need in the application of these methods. Though the installation of TMD shows the best retrofitting result, the construction of analysis model that indicate the accurate vibration modes of real structure is estimated the essential step of this retrofitting method.

  • The use of membrane as an innovative technology for water treatment process has now widely been accepted and adopted to replace the conventional water treatment process in increasing fresh water production for various domestic and industrial purposes. In this study, ultrafiltration (UF) membranes with different formulation were fabricated via phase inversion method. The membranes were fabricated by varying the polymer concentration (16 wt%, 18 wt%, 20 wt%, and 21 wt%). A series of tests, such as field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), pore size and porosity, contact angle, and zeta potential were performed to characterize the membranes. The membrane performance in terms of permeation flux and rejection were evaluated using a laboratory bench-scale test unit with mine water, lake water and tube well as model feed solution. Long hour filtration study of the membranes provides the information on its fouling property. Few pore blocking mechanism models were proposed to examine the behaviour of flux reduction and to estimate the fouling parameters based on different degree of fouling. 21 wt% PVDF membrane with smaller membrane pore size showed an excellent performance for surface water treatment in which the treated water complied with NWQS class II standard.
