A Study of Data Interoperability System using DBaaS for Mobility Handicapped

  • As the number of "Mobility Handicapped" increases, the incidence of "Mobility Handicapped" traffic accidents is also increasing. In order to reduce the incidence of traffic accidents in the "Mobility Handicapped", a service providing system for "Mobility Handicapped" is required. Since these services have different data formats, data heterogeneity occurs. Therefore, the system should resolve the data heterogeneity by mapping the format of the data. In this paper, we design DBaaS as a mobility handicapped system for data interoperability. This system provides a service to extend the flashing time of the traffic lights according to the condition of "Mobility Handicapped" on the occurrence of a fall or a crosswalk in a crosswalk where there is a risk of a traffic accident. These services can reduce the incidence of traffic accidents in "Mobility Handicapped".

Design of Mobility System for Ground Model of Planetary Exploration Rover

  • In recent years, a number of missions have been planned and conducted worldwide on the planets such as Mars, which involves the unmanned robotic exploration with the use of rover. The rover is an important system for unmanned planetary exploration, performing the locomotion and sample collection and analysis at the exploration target of the planetary surface designated by the operator. This study investigates the development of mobility system for the rover ground model necessary to the planetary surface exploration for the benefit of future planetary exploration mission in Korea. First, the requirements for the rover mobility system are summarized and a new mechanism is proposed for a stable performance on rough terrain which consists of the passive suspension system with 8 wheeled double 4-bar linkage (DFBL), followed by the performance evaluation for the mechanism of the mobility system based on the shape design and simulation. The proposed mobility system DFBL was compared with the Rocker-Bogie suspension system of US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration and 8 wheeled mobility system CRAB8 developed in Switzerland, using the simulation to demonstrate the superiority with respect to the stability of locomotion. On the basis of the simulation results, a general system configuration was proposed and designed for the rover manufacture.

Analytical Approach of Proxy-LMA Mobility System in Heterogeneous IP-based Mobile Networks

  • Mobile users want to be provided with undisrupted network services when they navigate on the Next-Generation (NG) wireless networks. For that, interlocking with a heterogeneous network is important, but there have been few studies on the method for guaranteeing global mobility. Thus, this paper proposes the Proxy-LMA technique, the mobile IP-based global inter-networking system, to enhance global mobility and interoperability within the Next-Generation (NG) network environment. The purpose of the proposed Proxy-LMA system is to expand the boundary of the mobility with regards to the existing mobility management protocol (PMIPv6 and MIPv6) in order to guarantee global mobility and interoperability within the heterogeneous network environment. The results of the performance evaluation showed that the proposed Proxy-LMA system was more efficient than other methods from the standpoint of signaling cost and delay in the heterogeneous network environment.

  • 분산해쉬테이블 기반의 구조적 P2P 시스템의 대표적인 예로 Chord 시스템은 이동성에 대한 고려가 없다. 이로 인해 이동 노드가 이동하여 새로운 IP를 갖게 된다면 이동 노드뿐만 아니라 네트워크 자체에도 성능 저하를 유발할 수 있다. Chord 뿐만 아니라 대부분의 P2P 시스템 모델에서 이동 노드의 이동성에 대한 고려 없이 고정 노드만으로 구성되는 시스템으로 연구되어 왔고 최근 들어 P2P 시스템에서 이동성에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 구조적 P2P 시스템의 하나인 Chord 시스템에서 이동성을 지원하기 위한 방안을 제안한다. 이동 노드는 네트워크에 이미 존재하는 고정 노드를 부모 노드로 하여 네트워크에 참여하고, 부모 노드를 통해 서비스를 요구 혹은 제공하도록 한다.

안전한 개인형 이동장치 사용을 위한 시스템 구조 제안 (The Proposal of System Structure for Using Safe Personal Mobility Devices)

  • Recently the use of personal mobility devices is rapidly increasing, and the businesses related to personal mobility devices are quickly growing as well. Although the use of personal mobility devices provides convenience for short distance movements, many problems occur due to the lack of safety devices and the absence of associated road traffic laws. The number of accidents caused by using personal mobility devices continues increasing every year, and the injuries or deaths are seriously happening with those accidents. When using personal mobility devices, there are basic safety precautions such as wearing a helmet, prohibiting boarding with more than two people, prohibiting boarding with more than 100kg, prohibiting using after drinking alcohol, and so on. However, it is exposed to traffic accidents because there is no way to check before using the system. Therefore, to ensure the user's safety in using the electric kickboard among personal mobility devices, this paper proposes a system that can check the user's safety state before using the electric kickboard. It is possible to safely use personal mobility devices and prevent accidents by proposing a system structure of the electric kickboard that can be used after checking for the use of more than two people, overweight, wearing a helmet, and drinking alcohol.

  • Most recently, CP(Cellular Phone) has been one of the most important technologies in the IT(Information Tech-nology) field, and it is situated in a position of great importance industrially and economically. To produce the best CP in the world, a new technological concept and its advanced implementation technique is required, due to the extreme level of competition in the world market. The RT(Robot Technology) has been developed as the next generation of a future technology. Current robots require advanced technology, such as soft computing, human-friendly interface, interaction technique, speech recognition, object recognition etc. unlike the industrial robots of the past. Therefore, this paper explains conceptual research for development of the RCP(Robotic Cellular Phone), a new technological concept, in which a synergy effect is generated by the merging of IT & RT. RCP infra consists of $RCP^{Mobility}$ $RCP^{Interaction}$, $RCP^{Integration}$ technologies. For $RCP^{Mobility}$, human-friendly motion automation and personal service with walking and arming ability are developed. $RCP^{Interaction}$ ability is achieved by modeling an emotion-generating engine and $RCP^{Integration}$ that recognizes environmental and self conditions is developed. By joining intelligent algorithms and CP communication network with the three base modules, a RCP system is constructed. Especially, the RCP mobility system is focused in this paper. $RCP^{Mobility}$ is to apply a mobility technology, which is popular robot technology, to CP and combine human-friendly motion and navigation function to CP. It develops a new technological application system of auto-charging and real-world entertainment function etc. This technology can make a CP companion pet robot. It is an automation of human-friendly motions such as opening and closing of CPs, rotation of antenna, manipulation and wheel-walking. It's target is the implementation of wheel and manipulator functions that can give service to humans with human-friendly motion. So, this paper presents the definition, the basic theory and experiment results of the RCP mobility system. We confirm a good performance of the RCP mobility system through the experiment results.

Identifying Unusual Days

  • Pervasive applications such as digital memories or patient monitors collect a vast amount of data. One key challenge in these systems is how to extract interesting or unusual information. Because users cannot anticipate their future interests in the data when the data is stored, it is hard to provide appropriate indexes. As location-tracking technologies, such as global positioning system, have become ubiquitous, digital cameras or other pervasive systems record location information along with the data. In this paper, we present an automatic approach to identify unusual data using location information. Given the location information, our system identifies unusual days, that is, days with unusual mobility patterns. We evaluated our detection system using a real wireless trace, collected at wireless access points, and demonstrated its capabilities. Using our system, we were able to identify days when mobility patterns changed and differentiate days when a user followed a regular pattern from the rest. We also discovered general mobility characteristics. For example, most users had one or more repeating mobility patterns, and repeating mobility patterns did not depend on certain days of the week, except that weekends were different from weekdays.

태양광 발전과 에너지저장시스템을 활용한 모빌리티 충전 시스템의 제어 방법 (Control Strategies of Mobility Charging Systems Using PV-ESS Systems)

  • Operation modes and control strategies for single-phase mobility charging station utilizing photovoltaic (PV) generation and energy storage systems (ESS) are proposed. This approach generates electric power from PV to transmit the mobility, ESS, and then transfer it to the grid when surplus electric power is generated during daytime. However, the PV power cannot be generated during night-time, and ESS and the mobility system can be charged using grid power. The power balance control based on power fluctuations and the resonant current control that can compensate harmonic components have been added to increase the stability of the system. The MATLAB/Simulink simulation was carried out to verify the proposed control method, and the 2-kW single-phase grid-tied PV-ESS smart mobility charger was built and tested.

미래 모빌리티 체계 변화 예측 및 서비스 방향 연구 (A Research on Forecasting Change and Service Direction for the Future Mobility System)

  • 제조업 중심의 기존 모빌리티 시스템은 지속가능한 발전에 대한 시대적·사회적 요구에 힘입어 전기화·공유화·자율화로 대변되는 미래 모빌리티 시스템을 중심으로 재편되고 있으며, IT 기술 발전에 힘입어 교통수단 혁신의 변화는 가속화될 전망이다. 이에 본 연구는 미래 모빌리티 체계 변화에 대한 방향성을 예측하고자 미래 모빌리티 전문가들(N=23)을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사를 통해 공유모빌리티, 자율주행자동차, 전기자동차, 통합교통서비스 등 4가지 미래 모빌리티 수단 및 서비스에 대한 영향력 및 변화정도를 측정한 후 이를 IPA(Importance Performance Analysis) 분석을 통해 확인하였다. 분석결과 공유모빌리티가 미래 모빌리티 시스템의 핵심요인으로 선정되었다. 또한, 미래 모빌리티 서비스 제공 방향성 탐색을 위해 8가지 서비스 요인(안전성, 친환경성, 심미성, 편의성, 정시성, 접근성, 수요응답성, 개인이동성)에 대한 AHP(Analytic Hierarchical Process) 분석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 '안전성' 요인이 미래 모빌리티 서비스에서 가장 중요한 요인으로 평가되었다. 본 연구의 결과가 미래 모빌리티 체계 변화에 대응하는 정책 및 서비스 방향을 설계하기 위한 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

Effects of System Quality and Information Quality on the Use and Job Performance of an Enterprise Mobility Solution for a Mobile Office with a Consideration of Task Mobility and Task Interdependence as Control Variables

  • In a dynamic business environment, the enterprise mobility solution for a mobile office (EMS) has been adopted to increase the competitive edge of organizations. By using an EMS, performance is expected to be enhanced. However, the related literature has paid little interest to the impact of system quality in an EMS on the information quality produced by the system. On the basis of socio-technical theory, we posited that the system quality in an EMS influences information quality. In addition, we investigated the relationships between the above two qualities, use and job performance by considering task mobility and task inter-dependence as control variables. Survey respondents were from many industries using EMSs. The result of structural equation modeling shows that system quality positively affects information quality, and other relationships in the model are proven statistically significant. We also found that system quality has stronger impacts on use and job performance than information quality does in EMS. However, system quality does not affect use in case both task mobility and task inter-dependence exist. The theoretical and practical implications of the result are discussed in the paper.
