A study on reflective spectrum between In-Ceram alumina plate(IAP) and IPS empress 2 plate were carried out in order to determine the difference of reflective spectrum rates between materials and between thicknesses of materials(0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm) by visible wave. The rates are measured by spectrophotometer(Top scan model TC-1800). And an analysis of ANOVA and paired sample t-test were carried out. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The reflective rates of IAP and IPS increased slowly as visible wave spectrum increased. 2. The difference of reflective rates of IAP between 0.8mm and 1.0mm is significant but a little(less than 1%). The differences of reflective rates of IAP between 0.8mm and l.2mm and between 1.0mm and l.2mm are significant(8%, 10% ). 3. The differences of reflective rates of IPS between 0.8mm and 1.0mm and between 0.8mm and 1.2mm and between 1.0mm and 1.2mm are significant(0.06 %, 0.01 %, 2 %). 4. The differences of reflective rates of 0.8mm, 1.0mm between IAP and IPS are significant but a little(less than 0.9%, 0.5%). The difference of reflective rates of l.2mm between IAP and IPS is significant and larger than the other thicknesses relatively(7 %).

This paper show the 2kW fiber laser cutting properties of SS400. The study was comparison of traditional 4kW $CO_2$ Laser cutting and 2kW Fiber laser cutting characteristics for the application of Industrial 2D Laser Cutting Machine. The laser used in this investigation was an IPG YLU-2000 multi-mode Ytterbium Fiber machine with a maximum power of 2000W and a wave length of 1070 nm. The laser was used in its Continuous Wave (CW) mode with an approximately top hat beam intensity distribution. Fiber laser high quality cuts at a large range of speeds (ranging from 2000 to 3800 mm/min) which has been obtained for the 2.3mm Sheet of SS400. 2kW power Fiber laser cut was able to max. 20mm sheets of SS400 (speed range from 650 to 850 mm/min). Fiber laser cutting used in conventional hole nozzle could cut 12mm SS400 but used in special dual cutting nozzle could cut 20mm SS400.
Application of trans rectal ultrasonography to buffaloes (n=6) to follow the growth of large antral follicles individually, on each day of one interovulatory interval revealed that follicular turnover during oestrous cycle occured in waves. There was a predominance of a two-wave pattern (5/6 animals) compared to that of a three-wave pattern (1/6 animals). For two-wave pattern, the first wave emerged at Day $0.20{\pm}0.19$ (Day 0 = day of ovulation) and was marked by development of a dominant anovulatory follicle which grew in size from $5.40{\pm}0.24mm$ at the day of detection to a maximum diameter of $12.40{\pm}0.81mm$ on Day $8.60{\pm}1.57$, with a growth rate of $0.88{\pm}0.17mm/day$ and then regressed, with a mean persistence of $19.40{\pm}1.54$ days. The second wave emerged at Day $9.20{\pm}1.06$ and was marked by development of a dominant ovulatory follicle which grew in size from $4.20{\pm}0.37mm$ at the day of detection to a maximum diameter of $13.80{\pm}0.37mm$ on Day $21.00{\pm}1.38$, with a growth rate of $0.66{\pm}0.12mm/day$ and then ovulated on Day $21.60{\pm}1.25$, with a mean persistence of $11.80{\pm}1.39$ days. The maximum diameters attained and the growth rates of dominant anovulatory and dominant ovulatory follicles, and the mean number of follicles ${\geq}3mm$ diameter detected at the time of emergence of first and second waves ($11.80{\pm}1.74$ and $9.00{\pm}2.81$, respectively) were not significantly different. In the animal which showed a three-wave pattern, the first, second and third waves emerged on Days 1, 10 and 19, respectively. All animals, except one had at least one subordinate follicle in the first or second or both waves. The subordinate follicles increased in diameter over a few days and then regressed. The results indicate that in buffaloes, the follicular turnover during oestrous cycle occurs predominantly in a two-wave pattern.

Recently, wave propagation imaging based on laser scanning-generated elastic waves has been intensively used for nondestructive inspection. However, the proficiency of the conventional software based system reduces when the scan area is large since the processing time increases significantly due to unavoidable processor multitasking, where computing resources are shared with multiple processes. Hence, the field programmable gate array (FPGA) was introduced for a wave propagation imaging method in order to obtain extreme processing time reduction. An FPGA board was used for the design, implementing post-processing ultrasonic wave propagation imaging (UWPI). The results were compared with the conventional system and considerable improvement was observed, with at least 78% (scanning of $100{\times}100mm^2$ with 0.5 mm interval) to 87.5% (scanning of $200{\times}200mm^2$ with 0.5 mm interval) less processing time, strengthening the claim for the research. This new concept to implement FPGA technology into the UPI system will act as a break-through technology for full-scale automatic inspection.

In this paper, we reported on a high performance MMIC star mixer for millimeter-wave applications. The star mixer was fabricated using drain-source-connected pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (PHEMT) diodes considering the PHEMT MMIC full process on 2 mil thick GaAs substrate. The average conversion loss of 13 dB was measured in the RF frequency range of 81 GHz to 86 GHz at LO frequency of 75 GHz with LO power of 10 dBm. The RF-LO isolation characteristics are greater than 30 dB and the input 1-dB compression are approximately 4 dBm. The total chip size is 0.8 mm ${\times}$ 0.8 mm.

Photomixing techniques beating two optical signals with different wavelengths and strong correlations are also very useful techniques to make a continuous wave(CW) signals in the range of millimeter(mm) and terahertz(THz) frequencies. An optical double sideband-suppressed carrier(DSB-SC) technique is one of the popular techniques to generate two optical signals with different wavelengths and strong correlations. DSB-SC signals with strong correlations are generated by a CW modulation of an optical carrier with a local oscillator and an optical modulator. In the previous parers related the DSB-SC for producing the CW signals within the range of mm and THz frequencies, there have been no reports why the optical carrier should suppress. In order to clear that, we have analyzed and measured the characteristics of the mm-wave CW signals made by the DSB-SC photomixing in this paper. From our analysis and measurement results, compared with the case of the DSB with the maximized optical carrier, the power and phase noise have improved about 23.9 dB and 21 dBc/Hz(@ 1 MHz offset frequency) in the case of the DSB with the minimized optical carrier (that is to say, the DSB-SC). Consequently, it is evident reason that the optical carrier should sufficiently suppress to obtain the mm-wave CW signals with the high power and low noise. This paper has given very helpful data to make mm- and THz-wave CW signals using photomixing techniques with the DSB-SC because the reason why the optical carrier should be suppressed is reported in this paper based on the numerical and experimental results.

Radiation characteristics of microstrip patch antennas integrated with mushroom-like EBG structures in all directions and length direction on a substrate with the relative dielectric constant of 10 are systematically analyzed. As the substrate thickness increases, the effect of the surface wave on the input impedance and radiation pattern of a patch antenna increases. The effect of EBG structures on the input impedance of a patch antenna is negligible when the distances between EBG structures and the center of a patch antenna are 0.4 ${\gamma}_0$, 0.2 ${\gamma}_0$ and 0.1 ${\gamma}_0$ for the substrate thickness of 3.2 mm, 1.6 mm and 0.8 mm, respectively. The forward radiation is improved due to the suppression of surface wave when the periods of EBG structures integrated are larger than 2, 2, 3 periods for the substrate thickness of 3.2 mm, 1.6 mm and 0.8 mm, respectively. The effects of EBG structures on the radiation characteristics of a patch antenna integrated with EBG structures in all directions and length direction are similar.
In this study, power AlGaAs/InGaAs/GaAs PM-HEMT's for mm wave's were fabricated using Electron beam lithography and air-bridge techniques, and so on. DC and AC characteristics of the fabricated power PM-HEMTs were measured under the various bias conditions. For example, DC and RF characteristics such as S21 gain of 3.6 dB at 35 ㎓, current gain cut-off frequencies of 45 ㎓ and maximum oscillation frequencies of 100 ㎓ were carefully analyzed for design methodology of sub-mm wave power devices.

In this paper, low conversion loss 94 GHz MIMIC resistive mixer was designed and fabricated. The $0.1{\mu}m$ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT, which is applicable to MIMIC's, was fabricated. The DC characteristics of MHEMT are 665 mA/mm of drain current density, 691 mS/mm of maximum transconductance. The current gain cut-off frequency(fT) is 189 GHz and the maximum oscillation frequency(fmax) is 334 GHz. A 94 GHz resistive mixer was fabricated using $0.1{\mu}m$ MHEMT MIMIC process. From the measurement, the conversion loss of the 94 GHz resistive mixer was 8.2 dB at an LO power of 10 dBm. P1 dB(1 dB compression point) of input and output were 9 dBm and 0 dBm, respectively. LO-RF isolations of resistive mixer was obtained 15.6 dB at 94.03 GHz. We obtained in this study a lower conversion loss compared to some other resistive mixers in W-band frequencies.
PURPOSES : In this research, the initiation and development of corrugation on a gravel road with certain wheel and boundary conditions were evaluated using a coupled discrete-element method (DEM) with multibody dynamics (MBD). METHODS : In this study, 665,534 particles with a 4-mm diameter were generated and compacted to build a circular roadbed track, with a depth and width of 42 mm and 50 mm, respectively. A single wheel with a 100-mm diameter, 40-mm width, and 0.157-kg mass was considered for the track. The single wheel was set to run slowly on the track with a speed of 2.5 rad/s so that the corrugation was gradually initiated and developed without losing contact between the wheel and the roadbed. Then, the shape of the track surface was monitored, and the movement of the particles in the roadbed was tracked at certain wheel-pass numbers to evaluate the overall corrugation initiation and development mechanism. RESULTS : Two types of corrugation, long wave-length and short wave-length, were observed in the circular track. It seems that the long wave-length corrugation was developed by the longitudinal movement of surface particles in the entire track, while the short wave-length corrugation was developed by shear deformation in a local section. Properties such as particle coefficients, track bulk density, and wheel mass, have significant effects on the initiation and development of long-wave corrugation. CONCLUSIONS : It was concluded that the coupled numerical method applied in this research could be effectively used to simulate the corrugation of a gravel road and to understand the mechanism that initiates and develops corrugation. To derive a comprehensive conclusion for the corrugation development under various conditions, the driver's acceleration and deceleration with various particle gradations and wheel-configuration models should be considered in the simulation.
