  • The neutralization of /$s^h$/ and /$s^*$/ in Gyeongsang dialects is a culturally salient stereotype that has received relatively little attention in the phonetic literature. The current study is a more extensive acoustic comparison of the sibilant fricative productions of Seoul and Gyeongsang dialect speakers. The data presented here suggest that, at least for young Seoul and Daegu speakers, there are few inter-dialectal differences in sibilant fricative production. These conclusions are supported by the output of mixed effects logistic regression models that used aspiration duration, spectral mean of the frication noise, and H1-H2 of the following vowel to predict fricative type in each dialect. The clearest dialect difference was that Daegu speakers' /$s^h$/ and /$s^*$/ productions had overall shorter aspiration durations than those of Seoul speakers, suggesting the opposite of the traditional "/$s^*$/ produced as [$s^h$]" stereotype of Gyeongsang dialects. Further work is needed to investigate whether /$s^h/-/s^*$/ neutralization in Daegu is perceptual rather than acoustic in nature.

  • This paper estimate a desired signal in a correlation wireless communication. The transmitted signal is mixed with the information signal, interference, and noise in wireless channel, and it is incident on the receiver. In this paper, we apply MUSIC algorithm and sub-array method to recover the total rank of the correlation matrix in order to estimation a desired signal among receiving signals. Through simulation, we analyze to compare the proposed method with the classical MUSIC algorithm. As a result of the simulation, the proposed method improved the resolution about 10degrees compared to the conventional MUSIC algorithm. We prove the superiority of the proposed method for the desired signal estimation in correlation channel.

  • The DC Servo Motor has been used as an actuator in automatic control fields because of the good response and the control easiness nevertheless it has some disadvantage such as spark at the brush. Recently, along with the fast development of semiconductor industries, the digital control scheme is increasing in comparison with analog control because of the strength against noise and the accuracy. In this paper, authors proposed a combined control algorithm, which is mixed Modified Minimum Time Position Control(MMTPC) and PI control algorithm. for minimum time position control of DC Servo Motor by the one-chip microcontroller. The proposed control algorithm showed the fast response and offset-free. The validity of the proposed method comparing with the VSS control is proved by the response experiments.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid cooperative scheme to improve the secrecy rate for a cooperative network in presence of multiple relays. Each relay node transmits the mixed signal consisting of weighted source signal and intentional noise. The problem of power allocation, the joint design of beamforming and jamming weights are investigated, and an iterative scheme is proposed. It is demonstrated by the numerical results that the proposed hybrid scheme further improves secrecy rate, as compared to traditional cooperative schemes.

  • In this paper, we propose a new sound localization algorithm for an active perception system. In an active perception system, an acquired sound is mixed with the sound of motors. So a sound localization algorithm for an active perception system requires a robustness for the noise and a computational efficiency. The proposed localization algorithm can achieve robustness and efficiency to use only sub-band channels that are contained harmonic structure of the target speech.

  • A current subtraction technique with parallel operation system is proposed to remove excessive current in touch screen application. The proposed current subtraction remove the current which go into the input node of charge amplifier. The value of subtraction current is same with current when touch screen is not touched. As a result, charge amplifier output is only proportional to variation of mutual capacitor, which make dynamic rage is increased. Also, Transmitter (Tx) driving signal and subtraction driving signal are out of phase each other. Thus, noise generated in Tx is cancelled. The proposed IC is implemented in a mixed-mode 0.18-um CMOS process. Overall system is designed for touch screen panel (TSP) with 16 driving lines and 8 sensing lines. 5-V supply voltages are used in the proposed circuits. For multiple Tx driving signal, Walsh codes are used and signal frequency is 300 khz. By using proposed technique, dynamic rage is improved 36 dB.

  • Foame concrete was used to reduce insulation problems and interlayer noise in slab. There have been no studies on the physical properties of foaming agents using foamed concrete,Only the physical properties of foamed concrete mixed with foam agent. It is judged that the density and distribution of Foams will be changed when the pressre is changed when the bubble is formed. In this study to investigate the changes of Foam density and the physical performance of foamed concrete by changing the pressure during Foam formation.

  • The magnetic levitation system has many advantages, such as little friction, no lubrication, no noise and so on. For this reason, the magnetic levitation system is utilized in the magnetic bearing of high-speed rotor. The method to obtain magnetic force is both the repulsive suspension method and the attraction suspension method need a stabilizing controller because it is a unstable system in natural. This paper presents the design of robust stabilizing servo controller in spite of being the model uncertainties in the magnetic levitation system by $\textit{H}_{\infty}$ control theory using the free parameter. And we investigated the validity of a designed controller through results of the simulation and the actual experiment.

  • Thin nickel oxide films formed on uncooled and cooled $SiO_2/Si$ substrates using a radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputter powered by 200 W in a mixed atmosphere of argon and oxygen. Grazing-incidence X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy are used for the structural analysis of nickel oxide films. The electrical conductivity required for better bolometric performance is estimated by means of a four-point probe system. Columnar and (200) preferred orientations are discovered in both films regardless of substrate cooling. Electric resistivity, however, is greatly influenced by the substrate cooling. Oxygen partial pressure increase during the nickel oxide deposition leads to a rapid decrease in resistivity, and the resistivity is higher in the cooled nickel oxide samples. Even when small microstructure variations are applied, lower resistivity in favor of low noise performance is acquired in the uncooled samples.

  • In this paper, we propose a sound localization algorithm for two simultaneous speakers. Because speech is wide-band signal, there are many frequency sub-bands in that two speech sounds are mixed. However, in some sub-bands, one speech sound is more dominant than other sounds. In such sub-bands, dominant speech sounds are little interfered by other speech or noise. In speech sounds, overtones of fundamental frequency have large amplitude, and that are called 'Harmonic structure of speech'. Sub-bands inharmonic structure are more likely dominant. Therefore, the proposed localization algorithm is based on harmonic structure of each speakers. At first, sub-bands that belong to harmonic structure of each speech signal are selected. And then, two speakers are localized using selected sub-bands. The result of simulation shows that localization using selected sub-bands are more efficient and precise than localization methods using all sub-bands.
