This study is a thesis about the hair art reflected minimalism which is expanded to various art fields using minimum formative measures minimalism is a kind of modern art trend. It is analyzed theoretically that the works of this researcher approaching minimalism and consideration of minimalism about hair, flexible clothes and artistic costume. It is defined that the "hair art" is "aesthetic hair", and I include my three works approaching minimalism that are researched, extended, made. I spread the works which have minimalism characteristic by design intent, concept, title, color, ingredient, size and detail, consider the hair art works theoretically and present the basis and method of scholar study minimalism art trend. I think that succeeding studies related to the hair art should be continued. I expect that various work activities of hair art artists and scientific breakthrough via theoretical thesis about the work of themselves.

The study aims at looking, into conceptual transfer of environment between Minimal Art and Minimalism architecture and analysing architectural expressional characteristics which could visually show pro-environmental expression from concept of environment-orientation in the architecture in regional minimalism. This study issued the survey of Minimalism architecture as newly architectural trend since Late-Modernism, and pro-environment as important paradigm in the near future. In this analyses, the characteristics of pro-environmental expression can be classified as follow ; a the brightness and darkness of light, b. the perspective view of simplified wall, c. the visualization of environmental characteristics, d. the transparency and reflectiveness of glass, e. the all direction of cube, f. the visual division of architecture. These show that symbolized variety implying expression variety and implying Oriental view of nature were expressed as unique language of regional Minimalism architecture, by visual simplicity as characteristics of Minimalism and Occidental Modernism as motive of Minimalism.

Since 1960, minimalism has been one of the fashion phenomenon and turned out in many different ways. After postmodernism which contains negotiation and pluralism, appeared in 1980, there was a new wave of post minimalism that inherited 1960's minimalism. Minimal style which come out of 60's fashion, is marked by simplicity, minimal expression, and monochrome color, and it shows up simple style with no decoration. It opened up a young fashion period, and we saw minimal style in sports wear which utilized simplicity and function with spread of sports in the 70's. And also since 1980, Post-Modern widely influenced the idea about modern culture as well as complicated clothes getting rid of fixed concept, seeking to break the boundary between culture and life which were seek in fashion and personality as well as various characteristic, Accordingly in different ages, The style and image were borrowed from different culture and natural environment mixing the image, cultural phenomena like these appearing in complexity and expression, variety and possibility of new vision was expanded. Since 1980, Fashion has become more gradually diversity, high classed, required of each individuality. The phenomenon of fashion reappearance which was influenced by minimalism is continued to 2000. The Oriental style fashion is still attracted, so The new term "Ethic Minimalism" has appeared along with the trends which is put together. Therefore the purpose of this study is to search the concept and the characteristics of ethnic minimalism, to consider the relationship between minimalism and ethnic minimalism, and reveal the characteristic of ethnic minimalism happened to modern fashion. The study method went through literature research and practice research. The range of this study is oriental fashion spanning of from 1960 to current day. Photo records from this period show well the spirit of the oriental and the personality of minimalism. The oriental representative designer and western representative designer are centered Consequently, The formative characteristics of ethnic minimalism are simple, pure, unbalanced free style and representing the phenomena of compromise, blending oriental and western fashion. Structually, Elements of space and plane are emphasized, colors are restricted, and materials are composed mainly of natural fiber. So, minimalism based on simplicity combined with a structure of oriental spiritual depth and space, It could be called ethnic minimalism as a rational fashion.

Minimalism combines the adjective 'minimal' and the suffix 'ism', and was first coined in the 1960s. Minimalism draws on the belief that when the use of artistic skills and adaptation is minimized and only the essentials or core is expressed, the discrepancy or distance between reality and art can be kept to a minimum; and thus, true reality can be achieved. To realize minimalism, artists creating paintings, sculptures and other forms of visual art eliminate unnecessary elements and strip objects to its essentials. And hence, most minimalist artwork used minimum amount of color and focused on expressing the geometric essence of objects. Such simplistic styles of minimalism can be seen today in various designs. Apple's iPod design and other product designs as well as graphic designs are just few of the examples. Drawing on the spirit of minimalism, Icongraphics pursues beauty and pleasure in the minimal use of color and form. And what lies beneath Icongraphics' artistic style is its pursuit of simplistic essentials, sending a strong message to the digitalized and complex lives of modern people.

Fashion photographs from leading monthly fashion magazines in 1960s and 1990s were analyzed here. The formative feature characteristics of domestic minimalism fashion were studied. The major conclusions of the study are as follows 1. The formative feature characteristics of minimalism were expressed as simplicity, minimum, repetition, and futurism. 2. The formative feature characteristics of domestic minimalism fashion were expressed as simplicity, minimum, repetition, and futurism in silhouette, shape, detail, trimming, materials, patterns and color. 3. Minimalism in art and domestic fashion were identified to have a relation in the characteristics of formative feature. In shape and color. simplicity and minimum showed analogy while repetition and futurism showed difference. 4. Simplicity and minimum were expressed in both domestic and foreign minimalism fashions, but repetition and futurism were less expressed in domestic fashion.

This study is to propose the minimalism, which swept the modern society of the 20th century, in fashion illustration with an asymmetric composition adding the globalized oriental taste in the 21th century. To do this, this study reviews various literatures and real materials reflecting the minimalism in art, architecture and fashion, defines aesthetic characteristics of the minimalism in each area, then based on the results, creates a basic unit of a fashion illustration and finally bring 6 works of the unit together to an integral fashion illustration while adding several oriental features.

The purpose of this study is to observe the meaning of Minimalism and the characteristics in modem fashion design. The Minimalism appeared in 1960's has affect on fashion design which are simple miniskirt or Courrage look of those days. It leads a fashion system to the simple style goes with the life style of modem persons although the characteristics are somewhat different the styles in 1960's with those of 1990's. Minimal style is not just simple style but abbriviate expression constrained at the minimum. The styles appeared to be an undecorated simple line which are a sleeveless onepiece, a simple suit with no pocket and no collar and narrow shoulder. Colors are monochrome coordination and pursue a simplicity which is monotone variation. Patterns also appeared to be a geometric or abstract pattern for example check and stripe, which intend to minimum expression. Matirials are hightech glossy coating textures which have a futuristic image. In conclusion, the Minimalism in 1990's appeared to be a post-minimalism associated with postmodernism and a hightech-minimal under the technology development.

Nowadays minimalism has influence on Korean Architecture and Interior Architecture at the turning of new generatiov. Minimalism is a plural phenomenon that has developed from Modernism to Contemporary but there is the tendency to define minimalism within Architecture and Art. Also it is a fact that there are many disordered minimal aspects in Architecture. This study is started from accurate understanding the mistakes in the field of Interior Architecture, that are brought by the elapse of time, and analogizing the circumstances of Interior Architecture in the field of Architecture. Especially the purpose of this study is to grasp the relation between the minimal characteristics of Korean traditional Architecture and the stagnancy of Korean Architecture. Under the assumption that the characteristics of minimalism exist in Korean tradition, this study contents the characteristics of minimalism in western modernism to analyze the contemporary Korean Architecture and interior Architecture that the assumption is appled to.

According as the fashion at the latter half part of the 20th century is diversified and made into high-class gradually, it is demanding the individuality of each one. Especially, since the beginning of 1980s, fashion came to represent the restoration mood in a modern style because of the popularization of post-modernism. And with this, it came to result in the reappearance of minimalism which was one of anti-culture in 1960s. In this study, this researcher grasped the appearance background, concept and structural concept of minimalism, and tried to study the influence that he minimalism had on fashion in the flow of fashion over the first half period of the 20th century. Minimalism is the fine art trend of American characteristic which quicked by the meeting of European culture and American culture, according as the new avant-grade art of Europe moved to America after World War II Minimalism which appeared, refusing the mechanisation, industrialization and mass production of America and the falsehood of consciousness and sensitivity under existing system remained obscure by the pop art which is the commercial fine art of same period, but it came to expand the domain of work possibility of modern fine art, and it became the basis of appearance of post-modernism. Minimalism has 4 kinds of structural features which are nonside nature, repetitiousness and environment nature with 3 dimensional feature which is issue nature. Minimalism is appearing in the exfcellent and future-oriented fashon of Andre Kureju t the time of 1960 well. Then science revolution and minimalism aroused the mini-revolution, and they made the compact radio in electric home appliances and the miniskirt in fashion appear. The features of minimal fashion as Retro '60' which appeared in the decedent mood with the 21st century just before on are as follows: First, the are the pursuit of concise plastic line. Second, it is the use of high tech material Third, the miniaturization in size amy be enumerated. Minimal fashion will appear s the positive confrontation from of mankind as the optimistic viewpoint about feature in the situation hat environment was destroyed and the resources were exhausted.
